One of my two accounts (this one) has already given up on Match-maker. Time will tell if my alt will continue with this ridiculous new system.
-
What do you mean? Vulcan does not have that ability. After ~ 8-10 seconds of firing (at -10% damage) it finally starts to do some fire damage - while it also burns itself. On the other hand, smoky already has the ability to do > 20% extra damage with every 5th hit - called Critical. Does not need an alt for that. And I don't think there is any situation where smoky damages itself. And... Smoky itself has an alt that delivers fire damage - without risking any overheating.
-
What about it seems OP? Unless it can sneak up on someone it loses to... - ALL ranged weapons when it is... at long range - Loses to Isida, Twins and Ricco up close - they have better DPS - which is what counts in close-combat.
-
Every battle there are at least 3 or maybe 4 firebirds on a team. At mid ranks the modules ~ 28-30% do absolutely nothing. I often play Vulcan, and always equip Fire module. Makes no difference when they attack = automatic death. Fire has been OP for quite some time now. Guess the devs will bring it back to earth once they have squeezed players for fire module sales.

Valid Fix Matchmaking battles by choosing players through GS
wolverine848 replied to DEVlL in Ideas and Suggestions
it basically replaced the ability to see M-levels and MUs on enemies equipment. Not sure why they did it since it tells us basically nothing. But, since you can double or half your score by switching equipment, it should never be used for placement in MM battles. -
Since there is no critical hit - I suspect there would be drop-off damage for every shot. That's the give to get freezing ability.
-
Looks that way. For the lifers (or buyers) that can afford ~ 1M to MU the drone all the way, for 5 seconds it will do 4x damage. Imagine what a twins or Ricco or auto-loader smky can do in 5 seconds. Rails instant kills on anything. Ridiculous. PAY. TO. WIN.

Valid Fix Matchmaking battles by choosing players through GS

Your GS score changes depending on what you equip. Look at your score now. Then go ahead and equip your lowest items. Watch your score change. -
So what happens when this account equips an m0 Hammer and m0 Hunter?
-
Since you get more damage than you give up (a LOT more) I can see this being nerfed - since vulcan was just nerfed for same reason.

Valid Fix Matchmaking battles by choosing players through GS

GS is determined by items equipped correct? I've got some m0 items in my garage. Who will I play if I equip my m0 items and plain green paint? Nothing to stop me switching equipment in the garage once battle started. -
Nope. GS means squat for matchmaking. I reduced my alt (rank = Colonel) to bare minimum m0 / m1 and was still facing Marshals. This GS score does not seem to be useful for anything.

Hard to say... maybe a couple seconds - but - you are pretty much helpless during that time - a sitting duck.
-
Sounds like good at killing light hulls (does not need as much energy) but....will be very challenging to kill protected (module + DA) or heavy hulls as Isida would run out of juice before target dead. I don't see the need for this alt - negatives outweigh the positives. How many light hulls you gonna have within striking distance at same time?
-
The "10 daily" and "20 daily" missions are only partially tied together - in that the 1st 10 missions you do completes first and fills in half of 2nd. Any more dailys you do until week is over qualify for the "20 dailys" of the 2nd part. By the by.. you can't complete 2x "10 daily" missions without completing the first "20 daily" mission. 2x10 = 20 = 20 mission complete.
-
7 battles for a daily mission is too much for any rank. 3 of those and it's 21 battles for 3 daily missions. Ridiculous. And some are losing more than others. The no-lifers are probably playing same amount as before - but getting income advantage over others. I'll bet they are overjoyed with silly system.
-
Well, no supply-battles in mid-ranks can be ugly - especially on large maps where you will see Shafts. Since they can kill medium hulls in one shot, and you can't put on DA, you are helpless. And most don't yet have a module that over-rides the Heavy Capacitors Alteration.
-
Depends on your rank. My alt at rank Colonel has it - m2 7/10. And my Fire module is ~ 29%. In order to make use of Vulcan alt you need to overheat yourself. But my module does not protect me enough to make up for loss of regular damage. And once I start to overheat I'm pretty much dead. So - for high ranks with heavy hull and good fire protection it might be effective. But for mid-ranks without high protection - not so much.
-
Faced it on CTF battle in one of the larger maps. It is so annoying to be the target - literally stops you in your tracks. Facing the wrong way and you are helpless. Biggest issue is you often don't know where it came from as smoky - contrary to it's name - leaves no indicators like rail.
-
Has nothing to do with pleasing everyone. Majority of players will say they want an even shot when the battle starts. The highest priority in the game should be balanced battles - ie same # players per team. After that, if players want to work harder to get advantage, or buy advantage, that's up to them. But if the core of the game is broken, players will get frustrated and leave. They already are.
-
I think the 3 weekly containers combined give you same reward you got for completing the weekly mission chain on week 10. So if that floater weekly mission takes > 1 week, you will get less income than you did before.
-
How often are you gonna get team-co-operation like that in Match-Maker battles. You don't see teams made up of 50% Isidas. Sure there are some groups that end up playing random teams and the absolutely dominate. But for most part, we don't have that kind of synergy on teams.
-
Yup - takes forever for the fire to happen, and by that time Vulcan is killing itself. Oh - by the way - newest patch is nerfing the alteration.
-
Check the upcoming patch before you buy it - the alteration is being nerfed...
-
Right there with Vulcan's... the one that takes 13 seconds to enable, that will reduce it's damage during 10 of those 13 seconds and that eventually causes it to self-destruct.
