    You can't dodge a Thunder shot though. If enemy aware, at long range the missile can be avoided. And it has no auto-aim.

    There is absolutely no doubt that being able to turn your turret and fire accurately is a huge advantage. No doubt at all. You can pick up supply drops, get to cover, get near a healing isida, or close the distance / increase the distance all while damaging opponent. The pros far outweigh any of the cons.
  6. It is an odd set of rules - killing enemies in a battle (necessary) hurts the SN team :wacko: But you do get to keep the paint. B) And if you reach 500+ you get your money back = free paint.

    I think the underlying premise is... turn the turret usefully. Anyone can press z-x keys on the keyboard. Question is if they can do it while moving and still hit targets. If "yes" then they have a huge tactical advantage vs someone who is not moving. If you can't aim with your turret your tank is not moving - it's just turning - in place. You are much easier to hit than an enemy moving laterally.

    For me - it's never being able to use the salvo. There's always something interrupting the lock-on = no shot ever taken. wasted time. I'd like to see an alt that does the following... No guidance - no lock-on. No laser. Hold space-bar for (3 seconds?) to power them up, then launch all 4 in a straight line. If you aim poorly they will all miss. If target moves - they will all miss.

    What is Tanki doing to advertise the OverDrive feature and how it works? I started a new account - currently at Master Sergeant - and the number of players (usually on my team) NEVER activate it. Either they have no clue or they are mults. Neither explanation would surprise me.
  11. My point was that supplies - not necessarily smky - was a big factor. And since xp-crys ratio is close I'm not sure what you are pointing out? K/D? K/D is meaningless stat.
  12. Can't tell what rank but... Time in game is < 1/2 of mine and has used ~ 2x as many supplies as me. So I'm thinking supplies had something to do with the numbers there, no?
  13. Not sure you read my whole post. I was assuming 50% protections all around making it even. And I was posing questions - turrets that limited ammo struggle more vs protection than those with unlimited ammo. I made no actual conclusions on the "result". By range advantage (and I did point out it is not great) I meant smky reaches max dmg potential at greater range than Ricco. In the end I agreed - Smoky has been nerfed too much over time - the reload and critical dmg no longer make it special.
  14. Why do you assume I did not read the original post? :huh: I just don't think your concept will work in a DM match. Have a new battle-mode that people can enter and maybe it works. Bur the original DM mode needs to be kept as is. IMHO.

  16. Other side is... at high levels you need to consider Protection Modules - 50% might change the outcome. Supplies cancel each other so disregard DD & DA. M4 Ricco does ~ dmg 350/shot. has 14 shots? So would do 4900 dmg, but divide by 2 for 2450/clip. Can't kill a medium hull. Question is, can an M4 smoky facing same 50% protection kill a medium hull before Ricco can recharge enough to finish off smoky? Don't know recharge rates so can't answer this question. Smky also has a range advantage - though not great. If it can one or two shots in before Ricco gets optimal battle is a bit closer. But yes - overall I feel smky has been nerfed a bit too much. My Smky & Ricco are roughly same m-level and I find Ricco more effective.
  17. Replace all the options from 11-## with one option at "10+". Is there really any point differentiating beyond 10 accounts?
  18. How is there equal power? A team of 4 is 2x as strong as a team of 2. And they could easily have 2 isidas + 2 attackers. They would be invincible in comparison to the other teams. And how long you think the single players would stick around? This idea, if implemented, should be a new battle-mode. I don't think it can be fairly applied to the current DM battle-mode.

    I agree. A slight tweak in lock-on would make world of difference. Not only can they find cover (buildings, walls, hills etc) another tank - even your own team - will cause the lock-on to fail and you likely have to start again. Can't count the number of times I was sooo close to lock-on only to have target disappear from view or another enemy nailed me with enough impact to throw off aim. It needs a Gyroscope. The irony is I bought Striker to use as a long-range turret. But I'm told now the salvo is not really the primary usage. If individual missiles are primary source then it becomes a short-mid-range turret - and I already have two of those. So I kind of wasted a bunch of crystals. Thank goodness it was 50% sale and I had a personal discount.

    It seemed like you were posting those "results" to support the following statements on Hammer... "hammer is the king of all turrets" "it's better than any other turret but it can't face all of them alone." ... which they didn't really do, did they? (and I explained why I feel that way) Hammer is not conclusively "better than any other turret" and it's also not trash. Likely falls somewhere in between and is very useful in certain situations. There was some hyperbole on both sides. Of course it's all opinion and no one is "right".

    I think Guido forgets there are two barrels on Twins. For every stat displayed on the Wiki - double the result. Twins at m3 has more impact than stock m3 smoky. Been on receiving end numerous times and my viking dances around like a rag-doll.
  23. Much I agree with. However, not sure of ... Twins+splash... most automatically buy the alt when they can so they don't self-damage. Did you mean this as a plus or minus? Isida: The self-heal was offset by giving it the highest DPS of any turret. Wish the energy pool lasted a bit longer for a down-tweak in damage but I find it fairly balanced now. Ironic in that there were ~ a ba-jillion posts stating how OP it was. Striker: May have massive damage with the 4 missiles - but you need to get a lock-on to use that function. Need a degree in astro-physics to keep any tank faster than a mammoth in the cross-hairs long enough. ( Or someone driving straight at you for 3+ seconds.)

    I get the feeling you have not used twins much... or even seen it in action much... Low impact? :huh: <_< :blink: And you keep mentioning how everybody is a noob. Maybe those are the twins users you faced so far.

    Still sticking with "better than any other turret" ? Vs light hulls it can kill faster than any other turret (assuming optimal range - which is NOT long) VS medium hulls twins catches up. VS heavy hulls no contest - Twins ftw. All things being equal basic math says a Twins/Titan combo can beat hammer 1 vs 1. Add protection - where hammer needs a re-load - and it get even worse. Twins never has to re-load.
