Because SPLASH damage is also self damage. So if you want SPLASH damage on mines, then if a tank triggers the mine when you are close to it then you should suffer splash damage as well. me-thinks all the campers in Tanki won't be happy with this. All the shafts and magnums that surround their nest with mines will die when a fire approaches. -
Only a noob Magnum camps where enemies can target him. The "smart" ones pick a spot with high walls, cliffs or a house, then lay mines whenever possible. And from this position, they 1) can't be hit by shafts because there is no LOS and 2) can hit pretty much anywhere on the map. Shafts... don't have that luxury. Sure they can shoot across the entire map. But they still need a LOS. That means the enemy can hit them back. I'm not a shaft apologist - I hate it that they can one-shot my Viking. But the fact is you don't see as many of them on most maps (excepting the long-range specialist maps like Highways, Brest, Monte-Carlo). There's a reason for that - they are not as effective in most maps as Magnum is.

I agree. Matchmaking or no matchmaking I don't understand why they are taking a one-size-fits-all approach. You can still have matchmaking on medium-sized maps with 7 vs 7.

Hornet M2 is ok - not great but ok. Isida M2 is good. If unlock is still W04, might be worth it for getting the m2 equipment early. If you already have Isida m1, upgrading that is another way to go.

They brought it in so we can play on it daily. Was only available once/yr before. Difference for the sake of difference is not an improvement.

Unfortunately feels more like a grind than anything - strategy? Ha. If only we could communicate same language with team-mates... May get better once I stop caring about missions and just do Pro/Custom battles.

Besides penetration, what was taken away? And you received more damage as compensation. As a target of shaft, my Viking actually prefers the "old" shaft....

Overdrive needs a 2nd countdown - one that shows after (2 min?) it will automatically activate even if shift not pressed. Will be useful in team battles due to... - selfish people in team battles holding onto it for gold - people that still somehow do not understand how to use it - mults just sitting there - someone on your team might luck out and be next to the mult when OD actvates. If tanker can't find a strategic time to activate within 2 min (of a 15 min battle!) then there really is no hope. I'm sick of half my team running around with the white star while enemy is pummeling us. At this point choice should be removed.

Nah. Battles you'll see over next couple ranks will be just as good (or better than) battles at the top. In upper ranks everybody and his dog will have 50% protection against your favorite turret(s) and you'll be pressing 2-3-4-1 and 5 a lot. And you'd be surprised (maybe not) by how many Gismos/Legends don't know how (or just won't) use OverDrive...

1) Not the point - DPM is irrelevant when the turret does a lot of damage in one instance (and to multiple targets) from sight-unseen. 4) Why you assume that? "Tweak" suggests a small change. Going from 5 seconds (or whatever) to 6 - something like that 5) The shifting of camera angle allows magnum to know an opponent is behind a wall/building even though it is out of LOS. You keep using that phrase "crying for no reason". Interesting. Also it appears you have not read the postings on the last few pages, as there are suggestions there. short summary of ideas already suggested. - Tweak damage - Tweak splash damage - Tweak splash radius - Tweak re-load time - Restrict camera angle to Magnum does not know it actually has a target behind that building it can't see through. - Restrict it's ability to deliver primary full-damage salvo by only allowing this when fixed in position (must deploy spades to fix and pull back spades to move) Many, many different possibilities to adjust magnum for the better of the game.

So rather than advocating for balance changes to a new weapon (which has happened for EVERY OTHER TURRET) your suggestions are that everyone playing the game should - Buy Magnum or - Avoid maps that might have Magnum or - Play xp/bp (LMAO) Sounds like self-interest is rearing it's ugly head. Or... you are just trolling... (well-played if you are)

Was just trying to indicate you don't need both Ricco M3 and Smoky M3. They are used within similar ranges of effectiveness so are somewhat redundant. Can't say with certainty that Thunder is as effective in Normal battles, but stands to reason the DD applied to splash will cause lots of damage overall. Of course it needs to be MU-ed as you rank up, and some have complained there is a lot of Thunder Protection out there.

I have protection against Magnum, son. It is still OP even vs that. Stop assuming things. "Only effective in medium and short range"? What? ??? ???? Maybe you are not very good using it long-range, but there are many users that are. Lost temple is now a haven for magnum users and that is L-O-N-G range.

I think you are looking for the word "shot". Not "shoot". In any event, what are you proposing the "con" be? Alterations are based on give and take. Since you want to "take" back the penetration, what are you willing to "give" up on the shaft?

"Forest Rounds"? The map Forest? Ricco best suited for a map with right-angled walls and tunnels. Smoky stands no chance vs Ricco on those maps.

Just buy same turret? That just doubles-down on the issues. Game would be just SUPER if everyone used the same turret right? Change the name from Tanki-Online to Magnum Online. Whoo-hoo. Where did anyone say they want every turret to do same damage? You seem to be missing the point. Magnum (as designed) is not right for the game. The fact it can use the camera angles to find targets while it remains untouchable by the enemy is a huge problem. Maybe magnum should have restricted camera angles. Without spotters calling shots it should be a guessing game where it's shells land. OR... In order to launch those powerful salvos it needs to lower stabilizing spades into the ground = no movement. Shaft can't move in scope mode. Otherwise it has to use a less powerful arcade mode. Like.... Shaft.

Add Thunder and it's basically an Abrams Main Battle Tank. Just avert your eyes... squint more.
