It's great on small-medium maps. can take a lot of punishment. If you also like larger maps you will need to buy a light or medium hull to go with it. Titan at M2 is kind of slow. You will find a lot of tankers beating you to drop-boxes like RK and DD.
-
Smoky/Titan (Atlas) is powerful - but - if you are not used to a heavy hull you might find it a bit slow. I bought the Atlas kit instead of the Northerner and kind of regretted it. If you really like Viking you would be better off with Northerner (even though protection module not as good). Isida was pretty good at M2 - but - that was with 50% self-heal. Not sure how it performs now at M2 Don't know a lot about Ricco (never used it) but Vulcan/Viking is pretty good at M2. You may want comments from someone who has used it after recent updates. I hear many are unhappy.

Was my first M3 Kit - before the re-balance. I doubt I'd make it my first M3 kit these days. It does give you good xp, but is terrible for any mission where you need kills. I found it boring just healing people all the time. My Smoky M2 slowly lost it's luster and had a harder time getting kills as I ranked up. But if you don't care about that, go for it. It's best to use in Pro-Battles with supplies disabled. You will be welcomed with open arms.

Critical Damage +80% / +100%... is that based on current Critical damage? 1.8 x 599 = 1078 / 2.0 x 599 = 1198 ?
-
Correct - was talking about Arcade. Interesting... 4 tubes but only one missile available. Odd. And it takes 1.8 seconds for a new missile to be loaded. Funny - in combat as the recipient of the "delivery" seems faster than 1.8 seconds. In any event my smoky Viking doesn't last long enough when the missiles are close enough to not miss. Even with self-damage to the striker-Titan it comes out the victor.
-
Here's where I'm confused... The turret starts with 4 missiles loaded correct? So to shoot 4 missiles why would it need to re-load? There's a "pause" between each separate missile leaving the tube I guess - but it never seems to be 1.8 seconds. Or maybe it is...
-
Hey Tani, I should have been more clear. How long for the 4 missiles individually without the laser? I'm seeing many Strikers now just launching one at a time at mid-short distances.
-
True. But I stand by my statement about the damage of each missile. They do a LOT of damage and 4 can be fired quickly one after the other. Anyone know how long it takes an M3+ to unload all 4 missiles?
-
Seriously? It's an arcade game where you're trying to destroy the opponent. It's not NASCAR. (heck even there is a lot of "contact")
-
Because of the "Challenging" missions? No double-battle funds (usual reason for increased supply use) is there?
-
Each missile does way too much damage. Polygon CP - opponents won because they had 2 or 3 Titan-Strikers that just obliterated anyone trying to capture the Point. They don't even need to use the laser - just launch one missile after the other toward the central point and watch splash damage do the work.

I miss the old Viking and wish I had the new Hunter. I'd trade the little extra speed for more stability. Smoky needs a better firing platform as it requires more precision shooting.

Ironically it looks a lot like a K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzer Other names... M7 Priest M-46 Catapult

Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes

What???? It was recently nerfed - BIG TIME! -
If you mean team-mates, yes - that's sabotage. Enemies? Hardly cheap. Pushing someone off a bridge is no different from using gun and impacting them off a bridge. That happens to be an advantage of a heavier hull. Do you complain if a heavier hull pushes you off a Gold?

Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes
wolverine848 replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
A number of times I have asked for an explanation as to why, late 2016, the parameters for Viking and Hunter were essentially switched. Viking became a faster, lighter version and Hunter became a slower more stable version. Why was this done? - if not to entice current users of each to buy another medium hull in order to retain what they had? Can't be "balance" - because each still exists - just in the hands of the opposite player. -

"game's balance"... so if i can still buy the original (OP??) twins though an alteration, then how is the balance achieved? -

Even a non-buyer will get the Alt if they feel it will make it more effective. Once you get to Gizmo+ it's all a matter of time. The dangerous ones aren't the "casual twins players". They would be cannon fodder. it's the ones who learn how to use it regularly. -

You missed the point - that someone buys a turret with specific parameters (no splash damage). Devs modify it after purchase. You can still have the Twins that you call "overly competitive". But you must spend crystals to have that. Where is the balance if you can still get an "overly competitive" Twins? -

Problem is ... you are forcing players to spend crystals in order to keep the turret they originally purchased? Why not add splash damage as an Alteration so current owners of Twins have a choice? -

Has both max (1m) dmg and min (4m) dmg radius... so what are those values of damage it does within 4m? Even if dmg at 4m is relatively low... it fires way more shots than Thunder does. That will add up quickly on 3-5 tanks. -

So... Twins firing > 2 shots every second into pit area in Polygon and each of those shots will damage multiple tanks? O. My. Gawd! :o     -
You'll need to buy supplies or get a new short-ranged weapon. It performs even worse in DM at higher levels. Great for XP but terrible at getting kills. It deals damage too slowly and is subject to kill-steals.

Or- they are childish morons. Spawned just ahead of a team-mate and was able to grab a double-damage drop just before him/her. For the rest of the game this loser followed me around raging at me for grabbing the drop that everyone is entitled to. He/she ended up in last place while not even trying to play (or help the team). One of few times I placed a team-mate on ignore.
