Patch Update #430 - New Striker turret, new Alterations and decorations
wolverine848 replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
It was only a matter of time - there's always a learning curve. There were lots of complaints about it's usefulness (in many cases because people did not know how to use it). So they upgraded it. Hope they didn't go too far and make it uber OP. -
Get one M2 kit that you feel would be fun/flexible. This should carry you to M3s. If you are worried about crystals play mostly to complete missions (and do the free switch if too many supply missions). And it's ok to not complete a mission if you feel the reward (mediocre supply amount) is not worth the time/experince gained.
-
I've made it tto marshal without spending money and by what I'd consider moderate usage of supplies. I find the no-supply battles more fun and balanced, but as there are not enough of them I also do regular battles. It's possible to advance without buying but it does take patcience and some battles certainly are frustrating. I find the worst are the uneven-numbered teams battles.

There's lots of ways to make the turret perform better. Your suggestion is no more valid than suggestions on boosting the self-heal.
-
This is pretty much how I feel. Team battles - great for earning xp and if helps team win you get more crystals too. DM - kills too slowly - is subject to kill-steals so... not so good. I knew they would not keep self-healing at 50%. But the drop to 10% was silly.
-
My original point on supplies is that Isida can't even try to compete in DM without using supplies all the time. If that's your thing - then fine. As for your experience vs others... mostly wrt DM (in team battles I see no issues) It is comparing apples to oranges. You and I are battling different opponents with different garages. We don't have the same experiences. Once you have ranked up and have the M3 your experiences with the turret could be vastly different. Maybe you will struggle more with Isida in the higher ranks. Or maybe you will have great success and be happy with it. That's a good thing.
-
Of all the things to wish for - why this? it's not like you need a specific paint to be successful - they don't do anything for you in battle. it's more like the other way-round - you can get the paint because you are successful.
-
Then I guess you'll be buying the M3 when you get the rank. Let me know how you do in DMs then (sans supplies).
-
The M2 alteration won't be good for any type of Isida player. Sure it doubles the self-healing (to a whopping 20%) but at the expense of damage by -30%. And coincidentally the self-healing is based on ........ damage - which is reduced by the same alteration. What were they thinking? Paying (100,000? crys) for basically same net result? LMAO.

IKR... it's not like the mammoth is nimble, or fast.
-
In a way yes. But... for weapons that do a lot of damage in one shot like rail / shaft having increased power = more one-shot-kills. If you are hit by a regular strength Rail you may survive and find cover. Hit by Rail with current DD this is less likely.
-
I don't think so. If speed of something happening is increased it happens faster. See Sagittarii further up. Of course we are used to seeing "reload time" so the wording is a bit... ambiguous
-
I think the suggested tweak is for power, not duration.
-
Maybe it's the fault of the user? If user can't hit a mammoth maybe it's not the right turret for them. Or they need more practice.
-
Get one or two M3 combos. MU some. Then save for Protection Modules or you might find it difficult competing at high levels. An extra few seconds of life or living through one more hit may mean difference between capping a flag and/or destroying the enemy.
-
That was their alt. maybe they have multiples. Maybe they get blocked too. Gotta do something because doing nothing is... not working.
-
Might be a good compromise.
-
I'd tweak that some... Make DD & DA give +50% instead of +100% (as above) Make RK more expensive (200 crys or 250 crys) and have only 1/3 quantity in supply kits. Drop-boxes follow similar pattern - they still give too much benefit - especially when a team controls map through sheer numbers = game over. The spawn-killing teams showing up in your base with drop-box power-ups make battles unplayable.
-
I'm ok with that. Sounds like a perfect result. ;)
-
With the amount of damage each missle does that might be OP - especially mounted on a heavy hull.
-
Northerner is a sold Kit. I doubt you will regret it.
-
Isida is definitely fine if you need xp. But if you get frustrated by dying a lot (sans flag carrier it's target #1) or need kills (DM) then maybe not so good.

Hi Cedric, If these "cheaters" already know the consequences for breaking the Rules (as you state above), how will "educating" them help? These people don't care and will in all likelihood not become better gamers. So the rest of us suffer. That hardly seems fair. If you play a board/dice game with a group of people and one insists on trying to cheat - guess what...they are asked to leave. Same should apply here. If an account is permanently blocked it will have an effect. Sure they can set up a new account. but then they need to spend time ranking that account back up to previous level. At least it's some form of set-back for the cheater.
-
Either they are guilty or not. Why "hedge" on the punishment? If the evidence suggests they should be punished at all, make it worthwhile.
-
You could start by giving more than 1-day bans = slap on the wrist. If someone is "found guilty" of sabatoge etc make it a month or longer. They just play a diff account for a day. Then go back to the banned account the following day. No real punishment = no incentive not to try to cheat.
