  1. Lots of Titan Overdrives around one point is mismanagement of Overdrives.

    Demolition WAR

It's much better than the player having 50% against your turret.
  3. Ah right, I forgot about Stock. I just remembered that it had 7 alterations and the only Railguns I see these days are altered. I had included FHT in the "7 variations".
  4. That would be 4 different possibilities of either living or dying. You see a laser and it could be a Shaft, a Striker, a Gauss, or a Railgun. So many possibilites, just like there are so many possibilities when you get hit with a Railgun shot out of the blue. If you have a medium hull with double armour and you get shot by a Railgun and 30% of your HP is taken off, then it could one of every single type of Railgun. You can't gauge what kind of Railgun it is until the 2nd shot, whenever in those 10 seconds of high alert it happens. And I find that stupid tbh. The fact that one Railgun hits you and it could be one of 7 Railguns, is stupid. Only 5 really matter but that's still a lot.

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

You're welcome. And I noticed again that I made a mistake and said double damage when I meant double armour. I'll change that. I want to believe that they also take into consideration the number of protection modules for the turret around as well as the number of users of the turret when balancing something in this age. Because Firebird is more common, it makes sense to have something less common be more powerful. I'd say they kept it the same since it has afterburn so it its range doesn't completely engulf the target, it could still do some damage even after the Overdrive is finished. The maximum temperature is set at 1 and the minimum temperature at -1. You can't change that apparently. With Viking's Overdrive, I expected a heating rate and cooling rate increase for Firebird and Freeze, because it made sense, but I guess making sense in this game would be bad for balance.

August Challenge — Gauss Prime Skin

There is a difference between score and EXP. You get 15 score for a kill. You get 10 EXP for a kill. So 8 kills in team modes is 120 score. But not in DM mode. After the 2nd of August, it was reduced to 10 score for DM. So 8 kills in DM mode = 80 score.

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

I have noticed this as well, and I think I know why. First off, its direct damage. Firebird has the weakest direct damage of the melee turrets. That is amplified by 3 with Viking's Overdrive. M4 Direct damage per second: Firebird: 2,100 Freeze: 2,700 Isida: 3,000 You can see that its direct damage is low compared to the other two, and every second, the gap increases. Then you have its afterburn. Its afterburn is locked at 300/sec. So you're dealing at most 2,400 damage after the first second of shooting. Meanwhile, Freeze and Isida are doing much greater than you are, especially if the enemy is using double armour because the afterburn is then cut in half and is not affected by the double damage the Viking may have at the time. Something I noticed is that the heating rate of the Firebird changes with the Overdrive: It seems as if the ignition effect is much weaker with the Overdrive. Even against Compact Tanks Firebirds, I get heated to maximum temperature faster when they are not using Viking's Overdrive.
  9. You're seeing an upsurge in the number of Hunters? Most of my battles are taking place in Norman conquests. One of Hunter's Overdrive's main limitations is that its range is short. I haven't had too many problems with being killed before it shocks them but it has happened, which takes away 40% of my Overdrive charge. The other Overdrives are diseases and Hunter's Overdrive is the cure. There are 6 other hulls besides Hunter. Those are 6 different Overdrives with 5 different charging rates and 3 different amounts of score earned for actions in battles. Since it's the cure, it makes sense that it recharges quickly. The problem? The recharge time of each Overdrive. See, Hunter's Overdrive charge time is fast, much faster than Titan's or Viking's Overdrive. So effectively, you'd have your Overdrive faster than they would, but here's the catch, how are you going to use your Hunter's Overdrive? Will you wait until they have their Overdrive so that you can cancel it? Will you use it for offensive purposes to capture a flag for your team? Will you make it your duty to prioritise countering Overdrives and not just the enemy huls and their supplies? A lot falls on the Hunter's shoulders and if it wants its team to win, it must decide where to use its Overdrive. Using your Overdrive too early might mean defeat for your team as you can use it on a Wasp's bomb, and then an enemy Titan plops down their dome at the other side of your base and it's pooling with enemies. There are counters to Hunter's Overdrive. Its main counter, in terms of effects, is Dictator's Overdrive. If used immediately after being stunned, it will give you supplies which, by the end of them, would be available to use as the cooldown has passed. You have ranged counters such as Hornet and Viking's Overdrive. They can kill you before it zaps them as they weaken you as you approach them. More than one of any hull could pose a problem as that's more of that specific Overdrive. I've seen teams with many Hunters trample other teams and I've seen the reverse. Hull diversity is important. So many topics about nerfing Hunter's Overdrive should warrant some investigation but I think it's balanced right now. All Overdrives are unpredictable. See, you listed all of its effects, but some of those effects are situational. Like the flag or the ball, that can only happen in CTF, ASL and RGB battles - 3 of 7 modes. It suppressing its enemies Overdrives is also situation as not every enemy i zap has their Overdrive active. Sometimes, it's taking down that tank as fast as possible is the priority. Hitting multiple targets at once depends on the terrain and obstacles. There could be a group of 5 tanks but I could only stun 2 or 3 because of obstacles and if I go a different route, they'd see me and act accordingly. So it is dodgeable. You can't escape it because you're stunned for those 3 seconds, but you can survive if you have the protection module against the Hunter's turret. The Hunter may not have double damage activated. I believe it's frustrating because MM is fast-paced and suddenly slowing to a halt for 3 seconds and then having to accelerate without speed boost would piss people off. Hornets are able to shut down pushes. Bypassing double armour is a huge plus with Hornet's Overdrive, especially with Magnum, Railgun, Thunder and Gauss. Vikings are able to as well, from a distance too. Hunter isn't guaranteed success as it only stuns the enemies. It has to then damage them and kill them, and that can be hard when the enemies are spaced out, as well as having protection modules against its turret. Dictator's Overdrive is a direct counter. As @Maf had said in this topic, "There was an issue with Hammer too, which had to be nerfed because players were using it in a different way than expected". They were using it in a different way that they expected. Hornet's ability to remove double armour and protection modules outweigh the ability to see where enemies are. The HP bars are significant. Kills are rewarded fruitfully in MM and Hornet's Overdrive, especially in the higher ranks where there are OP alterations, can make many kills with it. I suggested to someone on the forum that an alternative way you can use Hornet's Overdrive is for flanking. See where the enemies are and choose a route where the enemies may least likely notice you. But I mostly use it as offensive. Why? Because kills give me stars in challenges and and being able to one-shot people gives your team an advantage, even if it's only for 20 seconds. It recharges quickly as well, and you also get charge during the duration of the Overdrive. It's most beneficial when using it as an offensive tool, rather than assistive. If you combine both, you're giving your team the location and HP bars of the enemies while you get to one-shot them or kill them very quickly. So it's safe to say that Hornet's Overdrive is mainly offensive, as that's where it benefits from the most; and because it benefits there the most, most if not all players would use it like that because Challenges exist and gettin' them stars matters.

    Ideas for Augments!

It looks like RIDDLER_8 got to it first.
  11. It retains 90% of its damage at up to 12 metres.
  12. That's the thing. It's not always a one-shot. Yes, you can, and I do it every day. It's just being observant.
  13. Random Number Generator. Gauss, when it was released, had a moderately tight damage spread for its sniping shot. In its first change, the devs widened the damage spread but kept the average damage the same. So now, instead of dealing enough damage to one-shot a medium hull with double damage almost every time, you have a chance of not one-shotting that medium hull, and you have a chance of doing enough damage to one-shot a heavy hull. By "straightens it out", I mean that the RNG of its damage doesn't really warrant a laser. If it had the tight damage spread like it did before the first change, then maybe, yeah, but it's too unpredictable right now.
  14. I think the RNG of Gauss' damage straightens this out. I saw this happening in the HTML version of the Test Server. Made me wonder if they were planning on implementing that with it.

    Let's Discuss Freeze!

I read it somewhere. I can't remember where. I also had in-game evidence from the Test Server. I noticed that players would unfreeze faster if I shot them with Shock Freeze, which proved what I read was correct. Makes sense if it's like that because maybe if they kept it the same as Stock Freeze, it would have been too powerful?

Container Project to Learn Reward Probabilities

3,500x Crystals 10,000x Crystals 300,000x Crystals 125x Double Damages 125x Mines 3,500x Crystals 125x Double Damages 125x Mines 3,500x Crystals 250 Of All Supplies 125x Speed Boosts 50 Batteries Thoughts? It was very suspicious that on two accounts, I got the same first 3 rewards, in order. Similar to that time they allowed us to take a quiz in the V-Log and each participant would get a container. Every container I had opened on each of the accounts I registered got 125x Double Armours. Very suspicious. Ignore that 300,000 crystal container.

High GS, probably? There was another Vulcan + Titan there so I assumed that both of them were in a group.

    Let's Discuss Vulcan!

This player holds power unimaginable. Sadly, Vulcan M2 and Wasp M1 is no match for Vulcan M3 and Titan M3. What I did feel happy about, however, is me making him use his Titan's Overdrive solely against me twice in that battle. I was able to circle him pretty easily those 2 times and he ended up using the Overdrives just to kill me. Seeing that Wasp + Vulcan is a forbidden combo, I wonder how egotistical players feel when they die to a skilled Wasp + Vulcan player.
  22. TheCongoSpider

    Vulcan, a new way!

Try until you succeed. Those M4 Sledgehammer Thunders can't beat you if you believe hard enough. It's more rewarding to do it to a person with a turret that isn't designed for that.

    Let's Discuss Matchmaking

Don't know about you guys but I'd estimate that 90% of my battles these past few days had the Winter theme. I noticed this because I usually play during the night and the bright white of the ground has the most negative effect on my concentration as it's extra brightness being taken into my eyes.
