    The Battle for Olympus

Here's what this XP garbage is doing to the game: I just played this about two minutes ago. I was using a fully MUed Gauss Mk1 (max for my rank). I let loose on three different, separate targets. I used a DD each time and couldn't kill a tank. I was doing damage, but not enough to kill an MK4 or Mk5 hull. Fully MUed for my rank, with DD, a full blast from Gauss, with a direct hit, and then my target wheels and one shots me and my fully MUed Mk1 Dictator. The rank brackets are too wide and making the game even worse than it has been.

It's like they are actively trying to kill the game and drive away players.

Did you not see the joke there? That is why I said expletives deleted...blah blah...minors....blah blah...those with tender ears or some such. Did you not see the substitute cuss words? "Percent sign, up carrot, pound sign, dollar sign, asterisk, exclamation point, at sign" <<<number caps A situation where one is driven to swearing and cursing, but refrains from offensive language....expletives deleted. Isn't it kinda obvious that I wasn't vulgar here...specifically and on purpose not being vulgar because it is a public forum? Gosh... OK, I got it now...I just went back to my original post and Thiedes edited number caps out and you thought he took out something obnoxious. Well, it wasn't unless you consider Archie comics and even Snoopy cartoons obscene. ----------------from original------------------ (Theides, please don't delete these lines as spam) ...explicates deleted due to the presents of minors and folks sensitivity to vulgar language. Gosh darn it all to heck in a handbag. 6X is just WAY bad. ..and ten more days of this. Alt accounts over and over all summer long. Oh, I see why Viking4 jumped alll over this. Theidies edited it and removed the keystrokes of cap numbers that are the comic book equivalent of swearing. He then called it "spam removed" Viking4 apparently thought I said something naughty because Theidies felt the need to edit it out even though there was absolutely NOTHING untoward in my post. Hey Theidies, please don't edit this spam: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ OK? Thanks /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\

Is it 6X XP or just 4X? Double the double or am I lost in the fog and it is double the triple XP....making it 6X? Expiring minds want to know...

Thanks....I just had no idea. I already started my Ares account Ares_Jumps_the_Shark It's at Rank6 and Ares should unlock by there or close to it. I may actually participate and try for the 1000 DD mission if you can get two or three ODs per battle...1000 DD is a lot of DD ...set up for the life of the account.

We don't know how long it will take Ares OD to charge. It might be like Viking or worse. It might be that you only get one and maybe two ODs per 6.5 minute battle. It might be closer to 33 hours to get 300 Ares ODs if you only get one per battle. That's a lot of camping even if you spread it out over ten days. Just thought I'd add that I HATE this ridiculous XP multiplier nonsense. At least it is only 4X XP instead of the ludicrous 6X XP.
  8. HTML is easy to figure out and use. It's just lame and not as usable or efficient as the Flash version. Therefore it is a less pleasant gaming experience. We were promised an HTML that was as good or better than Flash in every respect. That hasn't happened...not even close. In fact HTML is highly inferior to Flash in almost all (maybe all) aspects...(it's almost gotta be better in something, but I just can't think of what it might be...oh yeah, radar) Since we are stuck with HTML, I'd like to see the devs follow through with their promise and make HTML more playable with the minimum of features equivalent to Flash. Make HTML have at least the same features as Flash and let stuff like a new home page slide...fix HTML asap so we can all play on it and enjoy it.
  9. The game is getting worse and worse. Now, with the insane amount of XP in every battle and multipliers of that XP every couple of weekends, the lower rank battles are in ruins. They were the only part of Tanki that was even vaguely reminiscent of the Real-Tanki instead of this trash neo-tanki with it's magic hulls, ODs, alt, drones, etc. Players rank so quickly MM has too small a player pool, so even in peak hours there are 6, 10 12 ranks within the same battle....rank4 vs rank12 is ridiculous. That is Mk1 vs Mk4 or Mk7 as there are still many of the overly advanced player out there from the Mk conversion. I've been matched against Mk7 equipment with my puny Mk1. It's just stupid. I've also been in battles as a rank4 player vs rank19 in off hours...fifteen ranks higher! Player count keeps dropping as players get bored with the current trash iteration of Tanki or they quit out of sheer frustration. The buyers are probably more hesitant to leave since they are invested and can buy kits, batteries, drones, etc., but my guess this drop in player numbers is a sign that even buyers are going to start dropping out as waiting times increase, rank spread increases, and blow-outs become the norm for a battle. I know this has all been said before, but it is just a crime that the devs have purposely compromised the game for short term profits. Maybe they realize that HTML won't really work and are trying for as much as they can squeeze before the end of the year. Maybe they have set their sights on the mobile market and let the PC market fall by the wayside. It's a shame that they didn't just diversify and have a PC Tanki that was more like Tanki of 2016/2017 and this current "Legendary P2W Shooter" as a mobile game. Rant concluded...pointless anyway.
  10. I guess I'm missing something. i sure don't see any new features with HTML other than a useless (for me) radar. There are also a few new things like seeing outlines through walls, but I would count that in the negative column for HTML. I will grant you that the gamplay is similar in HTML and Flash, but why brutalize the interfaces with poor font size, color, contrast, and clarity? Why make things less visible than on Flash like scores and points? Why remove some of the useful features of Flash...like clan tags, mission access during battles, coping names, and others? The lobby interface takes more clicks to access different parts...and each click takes much longer to load the new page (at least for me). Flash is much faster to navigate just in terms of loading not to mentions extra clicks. I've already listed most of my problems with HTML almost as soon as the "What would ....HTML for you" topic was first coined. Some of my beefs got corrected; most haven't been addressed. It takes very little to make one format preferable over another and, for me (and I think many others) HTML has many many things that make it less enjoyable. And it wouldn't take very much to correct most of those things...like font size or some righteous color correction. Does you mum play Tanki? My kid used to play but she hated many of the toxic updates that led up to MM and quit playing a couple of years ago.
  11. All the updates that have been killing Tanki on the EU servers have done even worse to the China servers. You can still see the China numbers if you go the the language icon and it is always just a few hundred...not enough to keep MM going. It is the same scenario that happened to the Latin servers....not enough player base. Both these communities were doing very well before MM, then the more time consuming missions, ODs, drones, alts...you know, all the trash that has ruined Tanki on EU servers. The worrisome part is now the EU servers are getting players numbers similar to what killed the Latin community and is now killing the Chinese community.
  12. It looks like Tanki may be gearing up for an advertising push to bolster their plummeting player count. Rebranding with a new name to con some ex-players into trying the New and Exciting Legendary PVP Shooter!....maybe even a few new players. It's a good idea but should have been implemented a few years ago before this ruined version of Tanki is all that is left...sorry, Legendary PVP Shooter. I guess I'm just a cynic, but what new player would bother with this monotonous husk of a game....and ex-players might dabble for a week or so to see what has changed, but they already quit the game because of all the "features" that are rife throughout all of Tanki now...MM, ODs, drones, massive supplies, alts, etc not to mention the loss of teamwork, comradery, strategy. etc. Oh yeah, the home page (I really wouldn't call it a new web site) looks OK...slightly seizure inducing and washed out with very low contrast, but that bland low contrast matches the HTML version of the game. Seems like kind of a waste of energy when there are so many real issues to be dealt with...but hey, it's the devs.
  13. so the servers are down yet again. What ticks me off is I seem to get caught by each server crash/maintenance but never end up with any of the compensation awards. I never seem to log on during the time Tanki feels appropriate to redeem compensation.
  14. Mk7-20 <<< kind of a shorthand written version of fully upgraded Mk7 Erroneously if I speak about this concept, I tend towards ellipsis and say Mk8 or even (cringe) M8, mate. Sloppy, but true. Also, there was never an official M4 (I don't think) but many many players used M4, so i think it applies to the new system and well; Mk8 My Vulcan Mate (M8 Mk7-20 fully upgrade Mk7). I'll kill you with my Rail Mate or I'll grind you under the treads of my Viking Mate . I wish I had a Murder Hornet Mate so I could be scary on the battle field too. I like it, mate.

These are all written by mods. These are people that tend to agree with anything Tanki has to say regardless of validity. Look at every post made about a toxic update. There is an army of sycophants that praise the update no matter how unpopular it is. Great ? So Excited ? Super cool ? oh yeah, baby ? Wow, nice ? ad infinitum Plus most of the bulleted points made by these Tanki associates have to do with the battle interface or the play-ability of HTML, not what I was addressing specifically; the lobby interface. It doesn't matter. I will just re-frame my topic. I do thank you for taking the time to respond. i really appreciate the interaction and your valid reasoning even though I might not necessarily agree with that reasoning. Cheers ?

This is not a complaint. This is a specific topic that I would like to see commented on...that is why I framed it as a challenge and put it in General Discussion. I'd like anyone to tell me what is superior about the HTML interface. If you want this censored, so be it...but let's call it what it is. I will wait to hear from you and if you feel this is inappropriate, please just delete the post completely and we will be done with it. But if you don't delete it and since it is not a complaint, I would appreciate it if you put this topic in it's proper location on the forum instead of burying it erroneously in this thread. At least you didn't put it in the Amateur Writing or the Contests section.

Quote from VLog254 (The Click-Bait Log): "What inspired you to create the completely new user interface for HTML5 instead of improving the old one? <<blah-snip-blah>> Modern audiences prefer more concise interfaces with bigger elements. If you want to find something, here's a search bar for this. If you wanna play, here's a big green button." I actually agree with what they say, that players do prefer more concise interfaces with bigger elements. So why did they make almost everything smaller, harder to see, more time consuming, and less easy to use? So here is the challenge (Devs are more than welcome to join in): Name one thing that is improved in the HTML lobby interface. Anybody...go...speak...devs...let's hear it... I'll grant them that the "Play" button for a random battle is slightly larger, but you can't even see the mode options. And the clearer more contrasting Flash "Play" button is at the top of the list of all the mode buttons...easier to see and more convenient. Actually there are dozens of small things that are inferior to Flash and I sure can't come up with anything superior. It has NOTHING to do with getting used to the new interface like they suggest. The HTML interface is just poorly designed and layed out with little thought put into features like conciseness, visibility, convenience, intuitiveness, and overall usability.
  18. What they say about the interface and their rational makes me weak with laughter. OMG, what is easier or even LARGER on the HTML interface? It's like looking at the blue sky and saying that the sky is yellow. How can they be such bold face brazen con-guys? It must be some hold over in the Russian psyche from the days of communism...da Comrade. The biggest problem with the interface is that it is NOT as convenient or user friendly as Flash. It's clickier, takes more time to navigate, isn't as intuitive. isn't marked as well, has poorer contrast, has much smaller fonts, all the lettering is grainier and less clear with less defined edges...the only thing I can see that is bigger is the picture of your tank which now moves around like a drunken sailor. The interface has NOTHING about it that is easier or has better visibility. These Tanki devs are out of touch with reality. Or I guess that is how propaganda works....keep saying something that isn't true enough times and in enough different ways and people start to believe it. Propaganda has certainly worked pretty will with their MatchMaking debacle....there are people on this forum that will jump up and down saying that MM is better than the previous system! The sky is yellow.

    Thank you
  20. Thanks for your heartfelt post. I think most people know that it is either HTML Tanki or no Tanki at some point in time. I also think that what players want is for Tanki to fix HTML and make it at least as good as Flash. What astounds me is that Tanki has a template that was developed over eleven years. Why did they abandon so much of that proven template and introduce such a radically different lobby and battle interface? Why not go with what was time proven? Now it is a mess and not pleasant (for me anyway) to play on. Tanki needs to deliver on what it promised; an HTML version that is as good or better than Flash in every way. That would include movement, features, usability, convenience, aesthetics...basically, at a minimum, everthing that Flash now offers.

I play in the low ranks still, so I run into a larger percentage of questionable or downright offensive nicknames. I also hate dealing with Tanki customer service and just won't if it can possibly be avoided. I've tried several moderators and the only one that cared and did something about a really offensive nickname just quit being a moderator. So it goes. If someone would like to contact customer service, I think Tanki would be a shinier game without out this guys poor nickname choice:
  22. The colors, the contrast, the super tiny font size, the number of clicks needed to navigate the lobby interface, the fuzziness of the fonts and general graphics, the awkward motion of the tanks (better, but still not close to Flash), poor layout and design, loss of quite a few features, the poor design and layout of the battle interface, and many more problems all go into making HTML a very very poor replacement for Flash. Most of these things are small if taken individually and could be worked around, but there are dozens of these little problems or annoyances and taken as a whole, make HTML lame at best and unplayable at worst. The result is that when Flash dies, a very large number of players will stop playing Tanki unless HTML is dramatically improved...which doesn't seem to be much of a priority despite what the devs say. They seem to be concentrating on new product (Ares, Tesla, and, I predict, a wave of upcoming buff/nerfs) to get players to buy buy buy. I know I will be playing much less Tanki when Flash goes unless they improve HTML greatly. I find HTML inferior in almost every way and don't like playing on HTML nearly as much as Flash. That in conjunction with the degradation of the game overall from toxic updates makes the future for Tanki and me look kinda grim. Also, again with the rude an insulting personal attacks in your posts. I wrote you a PM previously about this and since then you have been decent to me in your posts..thank you, I appreciate your effort to be civil. Maybe now you could try expanding this decency to other posters and leave personal attacks out of your criticisms and observations...please? "ask your mummy" and the level of confusion comment is just nasty-rude and uncalled for.
  23. Very insightful. i hadn't really considered the creation of soft targets for the buyers, but essentially that is what is getting created out of the low ranks now. Rank up quickly without any funds, weak equipment and you are just kill count for buyers or fully equipt/MUed players. Of course the trouble with this is that players will not continue to play through ranks where they can only be slaughtered, so they will either start a new account, quit the game, or become a buyer. I doubt that Tanki gets many "new" buyers anymore...they have lots of buyers but they are players that have been buyers previously. The actual few newbies will probably just move on to some other game after messing with Tanki as a free player for a bit, but I doubt many, if any, will invest money in this neo-tanki.
  24. I fear that as player number keep falling, eventually (read soon) the devs will actually do this and de-fund pro battles in the hopes of driving more players into trash MM battles. They already have long wait times in off hours for RGB and Siege...many times I hit the three minute boot and have to try again. The rank brackets are already awful in the lower ranks in off hours ...like rank4 vs rank15 (I have the screenshot)...eleven steps between players. Spread like that is just plain stupid, but hey, they are Tanki devs, so... What these blind devs don't get is that if they were to stop battle funds in Pro, it wouldn't push any players to MM...only a small handful. But it would make another large chunk of players quit playing Tanki altogether. What astounds me is what a great game this used to be and still could be. It's a friggin' gold mine if they handled it better, but all they can seem to do is squeeze and squeeze for every farthing as they coerce players for every moment of their in-game time. It's a disgusting management stye.
  25. I miss playing Tanki, but i won't play with these outrageous XP situations. I've made a couple of new accounts to play, but Tanki has ruined the low ranks now too with the crystal box crap and the XP. Players rank so quickly that there are virtually no low rank battles any more. What there are are all mostly blowouts, no actual battles. The side that starts to dominate first usually wins. The people that play lower ranks are also only playing for stars so there is huge churn in each battle with players leaving. Tanki devs just can't leave any part of the game fun...they seem to need to kill it all in every way possible.
