No, but they are pretty cool...living dinos...well, pre-dinos. They look like Chinese dragons to me. I live in Asia and there are a lot of people that do keep them in offices and restaurants...and homes too, I imagine.

So how many new players are there? Tanki doesn't even advertise! I play in the low ranks and there are 99% old hands playing alt accounts. Tanki has almost zero organic growth and if they did have more than a handful of new players every month, I sincerely doubt that the HTML interface with it's washed out colors, tiny fonts, tiny icons, and fiddly clickyness would impress any newbie. I believe they would be much more drawn to an interface that was fully functional, intuitive, efficient, and easy to see...like Flash. Tanki made another mistake in a long line of mistakes creating this new and weak HTML interface (battle and lobby) and now all they can do is try to spin their ineptitude and try to convince everyone how much better their inferior HTML product is...they really have little choice since they have so much time invested in a lesser product. Plus it is game play that makes people try a game. The rare newbie that does happen to find the site and starts an account will certainly try to play the game. They probably won't like it because of the severe degradation the game has suffered over the last couple of years, but they will still try it. Do you honestly think that they have any preconceived idea what an interface should look like? Of course they don't, they, like you or I, will accept whatever is on the screen in front of them as the normal interface. Right now that is HTML but if it were Flash, I sincerely doubt even one of the rare newbies would decide not to play the game because of how either interface looked.

Isn't the downloadable client the same interface as the HTML browser version? The poor quality interface in the browser is what most players are forming their opinions on...they don't like the HTML browser interface because it is vastly inferior to the Flash interface. If the client has the same battle and lobby interface it is inferior to Flash and the Flash client.
-
I thought all HTML beefs, complaints, suggestions, and ideas were being merged with the "What would make HTML awesome for you" thread.
-
The battle interface is vastly inferior to Flash. It has less features, is a poorer overall design, it induces motion sickness because of it's layout, the displays are difficult to read, the colors are all washed out, there is an overall fuzziness as compared to Flashes crispness. it's less convenient in terms of multi-click menus, the fonts are too small and icons to small, and those are just a few of the things I can think of right off the top of my head. And the lobby/garage interface is even WORSE than the battle interface! The interface is lame at best and just unusable at worst. I think the "Modern, practical interface" just in itself is going to drive away a large percentage of players when the change over is forced. You devs had a perfectly good interface that had been developed for TEN YEARS as a model and you tossed it out...WHY? Why not make the HTML as good as Flash? Why make it purposely inferior and then have the gall to call this trash an improvement...a "Modern, practical interface". ahahahhahahhaaaahhaaaaaa What a joke.

These blank "Reward:" screens have probably been fixed with the maintenance today, but I still had one from yesterday that I didn't do until today. The blank "Reward:" screen was claimable and a mission was credited to the weekly total just like normal. But the reward stated, NOTHING, is exactly what I got...nothing. I tracked my crystals and supplies before I did the mission and there was no increase in either after I completed the mission. No biggie...my point is that it's probably a moot point at this point so there's a good chance it's pointless in pursuing this point at this point.

no, not really...sometimes, but many times it is within the same rank so the competition shouldn't be any greater. It could be that I just expect the equipment to do too much for me after it goes to the next level...it could very well be my imagination, but it has happened many times now and seems like it may be a real effect.
-
Maybe it's just my imagination, but I consistently find that when I am fully MUed MU9 or MU10, I seem to be more deadly than after I claim my next upgrade to MU1 of the next higher level. Whatever equipment it is always seems less effective than my lower rated higher MUed equipment. Once I get to MU2 it starts to seem about as effective as the old MU10 and MU3 usually starts to see a bit of an improvement. MU4 and up are always more effective. Anyone else experience this or get this impression? I realize that each step up is supposed to increase the deadliness of your equipment so an Mk3-MU10 is technically less effective than an Mk4-MU2...but in practice, it never seems that way.

Well, for one very big reason, Pro Battles and the Battle List are locked at my current rank. Pro Battles open up at Rank11 or WO1. After I achieve my current goal of getting to WO1, I may very well use this acct to play some Pro Battles, but one still needs to play MM battles to complete missions to generate enough income to stay competitive...unless you send in cash and just buy competitive. I think the major advantage of getting to WO1 is that you can start Pro Battles and only have to put up with MM a much shorter time clearing missions and participating in lucrative events. So yeah, Pro good...me like. An aside: I like your name ?

I just got another augment in a container. I went to my alpha list and found it in half a heartbeat. Looking through all the augments on the Wiki to find out which turret goes with your new augment is much more difficult. Please add this list in a spoiler to the Wiki...label it something like "Alphabetical List of Augments" . It is a small thing but it would be a very helpful addition for all players, especially the more casual player that has not memorized the long list of augment now available.

They have to add access to missions for me. I find it thoroughly annoying not to be able to see my progress on my missions...or even what I'm supposed to be doing for the mission (yeah, short attention span). Oh yeah, they need to increase contrast for almost all colors everywhere and increase the font size almost everywhere. I'm sure there are a zillion more things, but those would do me for now. But instead, Tanki devs have truly important work on essential updates like "Status Effects"...how could we have ever played without them?
-
Oh so very disappointing. My 3rd container for the week. Worse than a football paint. Even worse than a shot effect for a turret I will never use. Oh well.
-
These blank "Reward:" screens are claimable and a mission is credited to the weekly total just like normal. As far as the actual reward, like 2 DA and 3 Speed (for example), I don't know if it gets credited or not. When I run across this glitch again, I will try to see if any supplies or crystals are increased.

Updated to Day 6. This is tiring. I remember when Tanki was so much fun I could play it six or eight hours straight. Now a full hour is torture...it's the sheer monotony and repetition of basically the same thing over and over.
-
Clearing the cache doesn't do anything. It's in Flash and HTML. Sometimes changing the mission brings up a Reward, and sometimes it doesn't. I'm not too concerned with this glitch, but thought someone should be made aware of it. It's the kind of thing that is easily lived with just like several other bugs in Tanki...no biggies.
-
OK, here is another minor glitch, well, it is probably a glitch anyway. There are no rewards specified. Has Tanki decided to remove rewards randomly from missions without mentioning it or is it a bug? This has happened on several of my accounts. This is happening in Flash and HTML also.

Thank you for your response. Tech support was extremely fast in clearing the issue....within a couple of hours of me filling out the report form. Kudos to them...way better than a previous encounter I had with them.

Another server reset and still the same thing. I can't click away the that completed mission so I can't get a new mission. This is three days. I have this and two other accounts with this same problem and I know two other players with the same problem. This is not an isolated glitch. It is in HTML and Flash. Please acknowledge that you have passed this on to whoever is supposed to fix things like this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Problem solved by Tech Support within a couple of hours of notifying them by their special form

My experience with Tech support has been nightmarishly frustrating in the past. I'll just keep my blood pressure at a safe level and not play Tanki for a week or so. I'll check in from time to time to see if this issues gets addressed without me having to deal with Tech support. Thank you so much for your prompt response.

Even after restart today my mission won't reset. It still shows exactly the same thing. Where it says "COLLECT REWARD", that has been there for two days. The same in Flash "Claim reward". I click on the icon and it stays the same. It would not actuate yesterday and after restart today it does the same thing...nothing. There is nothing I can do to make it go back to a normal cycle. It is stuck and won't change. Clicking it does nothing and it is blocking my account from getting another mission since that 3 DA completed mission won't go away...it's locked. I've written several posts about my problem with no acknowledgement in "Bugs and Glitches" or "Complaints". I'd like someone to acknowledge that they have passed this glitch on because I'd like to use my account. I have two other accounts with exactly the same problem....so three accounts with the exact same glitch. Maxie1 is another player having this exact same issue. They posted their problem in "Bugs and Glitches" right after me. My guess is there are many players with this same problem and it is not an isolated glitch. Please pass this on as soon as you can, I would like to play Tanki and complete missions. I would also appreciate some sort of conformation that it has been passed on to someone that can do something about it. Thanks

They pretty much fixed the camera a couple of months ago like you say. It is enough of a fix that most people will have no negative reaction...like you (lucky you ? ) But some people will still get an uncomfortable feeling...kind of a dizziness sometimes....especially with rapid movement on screen. Believe it or not, the dark circle radar and OD indicator along with the decorative dark bar at the bottom are greatly responsible for engendering this queasy feeling in some players. Your eye can't help but see both tank and indicators...even if you try not to look at them, you see them and not even with your peripheral vision. The tank moves one way, the battle scene moves another way and the circles stay fixed....way bad combination. Motion sickness is common in video games...especially when you get bobbing of equipment while moving through the scene like in many first person shooter games. Tanki's radar and OD indicator are a perfect formula for a bit of barf or. at the least, an uncomfortable feeling in some players. The perfect and probably easiest fix is to make the OD indicator and Radar on/off options in settings...this just couldn't be that hard to code.

motion sickness...that odd HTML feeling

OK...motion sickness. I'm I bit of an expert having spent much of my life at sea on small yachts and trying not to be seasick. Wikipedia: Motion sickness occurs due to a difference between actual and expected motion. Journal of Biotechnology Science Research A comprehensive and well written paper regarding the causes of motion sickness. HTML still has a problem with camera movement...but is it really the camera? NO, IT IS NOT ALL THE CAMERA The biggest problem now is not the movement of the camera but the two large dark circles on either side of your tank (one OD indicator, the other Radar). These two points establish a fixed horizon...a non-moving point that you see against the movement (sometimes very rapid movement) of the battle scene. This is the very definition of motion sickness...literally text book. Get rid of the circles that are impossible to get out of your view and to some extent the dark and colored opaque panel at the top of the screen and most of your problem with camera complaints will stop and HTML will be highly improved. Flash had nothing in your field of view other than some semi-transparent small supply indicators. HTML has a pointless dark semi-transparent bar at the bottom and the two large (large even at 75%) dark circles completely in you field of view all the time and impossible not to see...even if you train your mind to ignore them, you are still seeing them. If you can't get rid of them (who needs the OD indicator and the radar is pointless IMO) move them out of the players immediate field of view...like to the sides. If that takes too much re-coding and you feel it will detract from the esthetics of the battle interface, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a setting to turn the OD indicator and Radar off or on. -

Maxie1 seems to have the same problem I am having. Can someone help us out please...maybe acknowledge that this glitch has been passed on to whoever fixes this sort of thing?
