  1. When MM was in the planning stage, Devs decided teams of 10x10 would get the most amount of players in a battle, thus reducing waiting time. They programmed in only the maps that they felt could hold that many players at one time. To increase number of maps, they have taken some of the smaller maps, made them larger by increasing the team bases like, for instance Sandal. Canyon and Cross are too small. Someone suggested Dusseldorf. The answer given was the map isn't as big as it seems. The buildings makes the map look big, but the actual battlefield is small, too small for 20 players. Madness was okay until they took out the bottom floor. Now the playing field is too small. Personally, I think they would have done better by adding more maps of 5x5 rather than fewer maps of 10x10.
  2. I've kind of lost interest, too. ~Not enough maps on MM ~Very little team effort ~Time is too short ~Big emphasis on stars without the mechanics to achieve them in a timely manner ~No communications between teammates (grey mammoth. flag behind you. grab it.) ~Crazy challenges like Top 3 x 15 with the inability to change it. For some combos, that's difficult to achieve. These are some of the reasons I'm losing interest and have gravitated towards more interesting games. It's obvious many updates that don't make it to the test server aren't pretested to see how logical the update is. What looks good on paper doesn't always turn out good on the finished product.

    Lets pretend we're in jail

Welcome to jail. Your name has been added to the list of inmates.
  4. Oooooo. Great Halloween mask!! Tastes pretty good, though.
  5. Neither Ostrica nor Cedric are Developers. They can only suggest, not change. Did either actually say the words "I promise" or was it seemingly implied by the OP?

    Lets pretend we're in jail

Well, well, well. There's quite a list of members from the Tanki Community in this jail, where ever it is. Anyone have an escape plan? I haven't seen hide nor hair of the Guards, are there any? This Russian food doesn't agree with my palate and sometimes my stomach. What is in this stuff they feed us and call food? Anyone have any ideas on anything?
  7. I disagree with you. A couple days ago I made a complaint and got an answer from the Mod and other players. Look at the I&S section. The status of some ideas have been upgraded since yesterday. Most entries in Complaint Book are just that, complaints. Valid complaints are brought to the attention of the Devs. If a complaint is one that can affect the Community or the game, then it gets some attention. If the complaint is just a player voicing frustration for an inconvenience, then it may not get as much attention. We all have our frustrations and proper topics are the place to voice it. Not all ideas can be implemented into the game. Being given a "valid" status does not imply the idea will be accepted. It only means it has some good points and some possibilities. Just because an idea isn't put into a game now doesn't mean it can't be added at a much later date. This post sounds more like a rant, to me, rather than a meeting of minds.

    What am I doing wrong?

I have Vulcan/Titan with M2.6 anti-freeze. It's absolutely useless. When Freeze gets me, all I can do is sit there and die. My Firebird/Viking has a much better chance of surviving.
  10. In the lobby, I saw the announcement for the "Special Gift" for those who logged in during the unscheduled maintenance. It said "Two days of Premium." For those who already have a Premium account, does that mean that our present Premium will be extended by two days?

    Let's pretend we're noobs

any1 selling acont? I by pay lot of mony Actually saw this in late night lobby chat.
  13. Occasionally, I see players using emojis that aren't listed here. I downloaded some emojis, which will show up in the response box, but when I post, the emoji disappears. Where can I find emojis that will work with Tanki?
  14. Players who say "Tanki is dead" haven't played a dead game. Years ago, I played a tank game that was a lot of fun. All battles were 1v1. There were 3 skirmishes in each battle, but only one map. You could challenge another player from the lobby (no lobby chat) by clicking on a players name and a picture of the player's tank would show up with a challenge button. Players were separated by rank. A lower rank could challenge a higher rank, but a higher rank couldn't challenge a lower rank. You could chat during the battles. It was very popular and had a big player base. The owner lost interest in the game (for whatever reason) and didn't do any more server updates. The game began to lag and the lag got worse to the point that many times, through the battle, your tank just stopped. That's when players started leaving. To resolve the lag problem, the Dev, without notification, changed the challenges to peer-to-peer only. Which meant you could only challenge someone with the same IP address. I live alone, so I could no longer challenge anyone. The last time I visited the game, the player base had dropped from around 8,000 players (when I first started playing) down to 10 players. The game was sold, reworked and went public again. I played the new version, but it wasn't the same game at all. I even had to check to make sure I had click on the right game. Now, that's a dead game. Tanki is nowhere near being dead.
  15. I understood what you were saying. In Polygon, leaving a Gold Box on the ground and you got it without opposition, truly is a "Can't believe that worked" moment.
  16. Eventrules=Event rules. What Event were you in? I love how Tanki tries to be so polite. It almost sounds like the Police puts you in jail for a minor traffic violation and says if you have a problem with your punishment, contact the front desk. Oh, and have a good day.

    Unpopular Opinions

This isn't my unpopular opinion, but rather the unpopular opinion of someone I've known for a few years. He's a member of the Flat Earth Society. Yes, there is a rather large group of people who believe that the Earth is flat. This isn't a game to them, they actually believe it. He's a heck of a nice guy, a little weird at times but, then, who isn't? This is the belief of the Society and thus of his. Having people believe the Earth is round is just one big conspiracy. All of the pictures NASA has taken of Earth from space, showing a round ball, are photoshopped. He said that there is no way anyone can make him believe we live inside a big ball. He's heard all the arguments about we live on the surface of the ball, not inside it and it's gravity that keeps us from spinning off into space. He said if that's true, then if we stood at the South Pole, we would be standing upside down and at the Equator we would be standing sideways. To prove his point, he got a ball and one of his little brother's toy soldiers and demonstrated as we were discussing this phenomenon. He is so well indoctrinated in the beliefs of the Society and so convincing, he almost had me believing he was right.
  18. I agree 10/10. I've done the same thing. Our team is winning, but the opposing team suddenly starts playing like a team and we end up being spawn killed and losing by a large margin. Sticking around being spawn killed is senseless, so I leave. In the lobby, I see there was only 30 seconds left in battle. I have kicked myself in the keister so many times, it's bruised. Two minutes seems too soon, but it would probably take that long for the teams to regroup and get that second breath to tie up a game or to break a tie. I have gotten caught with that, too. In the past, before the merger, I'd chat out a warning to my team about timing, usually when there was one minute left. Speaking, of which. Is there a way to say that in Russian without having to revert to a program to change my QWERTY keyboard so it will type Russian, then copy and paste?
  19. From what I have read and understand from the forum, Tanki was developed from the minds of two young men as a personal project, an experiment of sorts. They had knowledge, of course, how to code and present a game, but their knowledge was limited. Tanki started out as a very simple game. Then it went into beta. It had a very small player base, but it wasn't open for public use, yet. It came out of beta in 2009 and open to the public. It grew faster than an invasive vine. The Devs asked players for their feedback....and feedback we gave them. Lots of feedback. They listened and acted upon our suggestions and complaints. Of course this took time, not over night. The rest most of us know. Now, here is my opinion and strictly my opinion. I'm not saying I'm right, I may be wrong and all wet. The Devs had limited experience when they made Tanki and was learning as they went along. I think Tanki grew faster than they anticipated and may have gotten overwhelmed. Along the way, more people were hired and probably some with a bit more experience. Hackers came and nearly ruined the game...another field of learning. What to do about hackers? How do you stop them? There must be a way. A lot of problems started popping up that the Devs had never encountered before. I, personally, believe that the Devs were flying by the seat of their pants. Learning as they went...and probably still are. Meanwhile, some problems went by the wayside. Maybe the thought that a problem is minor now, so we'll get back to that later, but later became later and later until one problem started interacting with another problem and the domino effect came to being. At this point, the Devs are trying to modernize Tanki to keep up with the other games, but some of the underlying problems still exist. If one portion is changed, it may affect another portion, seemingly unrelated. Case in point...Vulcan begins to overheat when fired continuously for a long length of time. They tried to decrease that burning, but when they did, they found out that it also affects Firebird's natural burning affect inflicted on other players. They didn't realize that the two turrets had to be isolated. I think they felt that instead of isolating the turrets, it was easier just to nerf Vulcan. But when they did that, it caused other problems for the player. To summarize, I believe that the game got too overwhelming and it is still overwhelming. Occasionally, you still see some of the old problems pop up, like spinning turrets, which was a big problem at the beginning. Alternativa is a small company, compared to most big games. Without sponsors, the Company will remain a small Company with big problems. But that is their decision for their own reasoning. I saw this happen with 2 other games, years ago, very similar. The problems got too overwhelming even for sponsorship. The decision game much too late and the owners were forced to sell. One sold the game and the other sold the Company. I hope this doesn't happen to Tanki, but the possibility exists. I'm not the expert, but I think they need to grow the staff more than growing the game by leaps and bounds. This last can of worms, the unscheduled maintenance and the shut down of Pro battles, is a good example of what happens when problems are not nipped in the bud before they are allowed to mature and affect other aspects of the game. They got run over by one hugh snowball. These are my personal thoughts based on years of playing Tanki Online. Thank you for reading my wall of text. If you didn't, that's okay, too.
  20. I've seen that in lobby chat. I told the player, "Thank you for your phone number, I'll be sure to give you a call." He/She said, "No no plz dont. My parents will kill me." (I wasn't the one the phone number was intended). Apparently, the two know each other in real life and one forgot the other's phone number. I told the player to exchange private information in private chat.
  21. In the weekly challenges, does everyone get the same awards? For instance, in Tier 11 does everyone get Cherry and Ancient Dragon paints?

    Complaint Book

I don't care for Deathmatches, sometimes I change them, sometimes I don't. If the award is crystals, I'll do them, if not I'll change it. I tolerate them.......period!! Now, it's getting a little out of hand. One of the three missions was DM, I did that one. The next 3 missions was DM. I did all of them. Now I have another DM and that one I'm changing. That's 5 DMs in a row. Occasionally, I'll get 2 missions in the same battle mode, but not very often. Rarely do I get a battle mode in one set of missions and then the same battle mode in the next set of missions. Never have I ever had 3 missions in the same battle mode before. So why 5 DMs in a row? Is someone looking at my profile, seeing that I have fewer DM battles under my belt than any other battle mode and deciding that the random selection is skipping over me? Yes, I'm asking questions, but I put my inquire in the Complain Book, because I am complaining.

I was never incarcerated, but I was put through the 3rd degree by the Military Police, until I demanded to see a Lawyer. They let me go.
