Hunter, my friend, Hunter.

That means you're just sniping. If you have a heavy hull, the aim is to stay alive as long as possible in one spot. But for me, with Hunter, I can attack mid-range and sometimes close. So, while you are limited in your kills to whoever comes through your scope from where you are camping, I have a ton of more potential. I can quick-scope, and often bring down enemies that way, or I can deliver the final blow of 1400/700 dmg depending on what drugs are being used on both sides. Also, I can move out to the right place at the right time, because I have the speed to gain a vantage point of the enemy if need be. All this combined in a turret that has possibly the most fearsome long-range power. And by the way, with recent nerfs RFM is not as good as S-b E's. See my defence of Hunter specifically below. 'Twas a joke :D Hunter is the hull that I never thought I'd use because it wasn't as fast as Viking. But I like it for a couple reasons: first, you know how annoying it is get your scoped Shaft aim continually knocked off. That's Viking - it's so slippery both turning and aiming that it feels like you're on a fidget spinner :). With Hunter you get a more solid driving experience. Besides that slipping, Hunter is also more stable, at least IMO. But the biggest thingis Vikings profile. The low and fast does not suit me when it's still going pretty slow. It's so long and has no height advantage, only disadvantages. For those of you who hunt golds, Hunter is also good. The reason? Because Dictator has it's height that is good for golds, but it also has something else. Dictator has a hull done in such a way that when pushing against people it slides on top, if it's a Viking below it. But guess what Hunter does? It has the same ability, but more so. I can get on top of other tanks easily just pushing. Also, people who kill for golds will target Dictators immediately, and added to all this is Hunter's power, which is no mean number. In response to the OD argument. With Shaft, really the only possible threat in general (obviously other turrets can kill you, but this is your biggest threat) is Fires and Freezes. I'd say Shaft can deal pretty well with all other turrets. But with those pesky short-ranges, as well as Wasp's bomb, Hunter just , ehm, DIFFUSES the situation. The tanks stop, they are stuck with no supplies then and for 30 seconds afterward, and it's quite an easy kill. But if you had a Viking vs a freeze, even if you OD'd them, they'd probably kill you from the freezing. Also, Hunter's OD charges WAAAY quicker. And with Viking, you can't scope, only fire arcade shots, so it's ESPECIALLY limiting if you just sit there and snipe, without moving around and being a mobile Shaft.

Nah, I'm glad you forced me to Shaft/Hunter. Best combo in Tanki, hands down. I meant not all PRO maps agree with Shaft - I agree with you, all MM maps can be dominated with Shaft.

No, I'm not hurt :) Here's the thing. With the alt, I actually believe Shaft is for every player, but not for every map. As @Tidebreaker can tell you, I literally had no choice but to play with Shaft M2 or be stuck with M1s. Prior to that, I had Shaft M1 like you and thought that this turret wasn't for me - like you. But since I had no choice, I got it and used it with Hunter, also M2. Think, Chiropractor kit. At first, I didn't really realize it's potential, because I thought that you just had to sit in a corner and wait for someone to come, which they probably won't if they see your laser. But then I realized, Shaft with S-b E's can play against any turret. Except, sometimes, fire and freeze, but really, no one survives a fire and freeze attack. Anyways, stick with it. Friend on Tanki and come when I invite you - I'll show you a thing or two :). There's some tips and tricks that Tidebreaker gave me that I can pass on. Also, read the guide to playing Shaft, watch the video guide to Shaft, and search "Chiropractor kit gameplay Tanki Online." Shaft is an easily acquired like.
