  1. Battle mods have to pass intolerant and rigorous screening before they're event admitted as candidates. Not everyone can become a battle moderator. Perhaps you mistook their identity? Because for someone matching your description to become a battle mod is frankly unimaginable.

    New system

Precise Wiki stats aren't in yet. So it's hard to come up with a rough estimate. But generally speaking, in the old system using this method would cost the same as the next modification. Although it's not yet written in stone, the new modifications will most likely follow the same concept, but with different prices of course.

    Home Page Topics Display

The homepage acts as a front for all players that visit the game. For this reason, it's reserved for the most important of events & announcements directly from the developers. Furthermore, players do get regular notifications of less-substantial news feed (newspaper topics, events, contests, etc..) upon their release. Another reason for this is had those type of topics/news been exhibited on the front page, it would tend to overshadow the news the developers really want to inform the players with. Instead, I'd like to recommend an easy fix to attain a more personalized experience (on the Forum, at least). What you could do is collapse certain sub-forums that don't interest you and only keep those that you frequently check out. For example, if you're a player that's mainly interested in the 'Newspaper Section', you could do something like this. You can do this by clicking the little arrow at the end of any sub-forum title bar.

    Complaint Book

It's unclear exactly what mechanism the developers used to interpret previous modifications into the new "Mk" modifications. But rest assured, the developers have emphasized that players' equipment were not weakened by the transition.
  6. The developers haven't specifically announced they're planning a release patch. So as things seem thus far, it's not likely that any current arrangement will be reverted/replaced.

    Product kit purchases

You will get the modifications stated in the kit's description. If you purchase a "Mk7" kit, you will get Mk7 equipment.

  9. I get your point. Looking good is a pretty strong incentive to play the game after all. Perhaps it will be a main prize in some other event you can take part in ?
  10. Skins only contribute from an aesthetic viewpoint. F2P/P2W argument is irrelevant here ?
  11. From start to finish? No. But what if you had an M2 (Mk5-Mk6) and you want to upgrade it to M3? In that case this system is cheaper. Also, that's not what I said. Please read my post again for context.
  12. The developers slated a minimum of 3 hours for maintenance. It's obviously taking longer than originally planned. This is by no means a minor update and it's understandable that it requires some time to implement on live servers. You can follow Tanki Online on Twitter for live update news.
  13. It's less expensive than purchasing the M3 version! It's just your time consumption argument that I don't quite understand. Please elaborate.
  14. Your example is too extreme. You're perfectly capable of getting Mk5 (equivalent of stock M2) for a little over a third of the old M3's price tag. If you're merely trying out a turret to see if you like it or not, M2 should be able to give you a good feel of the turret without that big of a compromise in terms of in-battle efficiency. Multiple times have I bought a turret and ended up not using it, or playing one/two battles with it and reverting back to my original combo. Effectively wasting 210K+ in the process. Is it to my understanding that you're referring to micro-upgrading equipment as a means to upgrading them to the next modification? ?
  15. Changing the status quo for medium-ranked battles is the main focus for this update. Even if you don't notice an immediate change, it will eventually change for the better.
  16. I'd like to believe that this system would allow for a more relaxed transition when upgrading equipment. Before, if you wanted to upgrade from MX to M3, you would've needed an average of 215K Crystals to do so. If you didn't have that amount, well, too bad. It was an all-or-nothing type of trade which in retrospect, didn't make that much sense. Oh, they released a new turret? Damn! I want to try so ba- Oh, I have to buy the M3 version for 210K+. Bummer. Now, you could purchase previous modifications that would still be somewhat relevant (depending on your rank) to try out that one turret/hull you've been itching for without having to spend a kidney's worth of crystals. Moving on, I don't really understand what you're talking about. The modification upgrade system will remain as it currently is. Why would you think it would be more time consuming? To upgrade from, say, Mk1 to Mk2 you wouldn't need to go through any extra steps, it will be the same as upgrading modifications in the old system.
  17. Join any parkour game and you'll most likely catch a Brigadier with 9999 GS. Since you can purchase M3 kits at that rank, and you're free to MU them. This system aims to solve both these problems.
  18. There's a key difference between that update and this one. Considering that the old system of modules consisted of a "Single", "Double" and "Triple protection modules, this meant that a player could have different modules that protect against the same turret. For example, a player could have "Fox S-A" module which protected only from Firebird and "Kodiak T-A" module which protected against Firebird, Railgun and Thunder. This meant that a player could have different levels of protection against the same turret. For example the Fox S-A module I mentioned earlier had 40% protection against Firebird and the Kodiak T-A had 50% protection against Firebird, Railgun and Thunder. When the that update came out different percentages of protection each module had against the same turret had to be taken into account when converted to a single protective module. That's the reason MUs varied when that update was released. This update, however, is different for obvious reasons.
  19. That is not how it will work. Your stock M3 will be converted to the new stock Mk7. Officially, there is no such thing as a "M4" modification, there is only M3+. The unofficial term "M4" is given to fully micro-upgraded (20/20) M3 equipment. As shown in the Wiki: What we now know as "M0" will be converted to the new modifications "Mk1" and "Mk2" The current "M1" will become "Mk3" and "Mk4" "M2" will become "Mk5" and "Mk6" And finally, stock M3 equipment will be known as "Mk7" As for "What would become of our M4s?" question. Since the developers explicitly said in the announcement that current equipment owned by players (in this case, M4, or fully micro-upgraded M3 equipment) will not become weaker. They will remain as fully micro-upgraded Mk7 equipment. The unofficial term "Mk8" might be employed by the community. I hope this cleared things up.
  20. Stock M3 equipment will be interpreted into stock Mk7. So, for a rough estimate, Mk6 for your Firebird/Hunter combo (borderline Mk7). As for the modules, Mk5/Mk6.
  21. I get where you're coming from ? They didn't quite give an explanation for this feature, and I don't see a particular silver lining behind this decision. I suppose it has something to do with at which ranks different Mks are unlocked? If not, then, well.. ?️
  22. A lot of people seem to overlook the potential benefits of this new system. No more M2-M4 confrontations in the upper middle ranks. No more buyers getting an inherent advantage due to their ability of purchasing kits from the Shop few ranks early, since kits will be available for Crystals as well as Toins. And, although the "M2 prohibition" in PRO battles will prove to be a rough transition, players with lower modifications won't cause a systemic disadvantage for their team, especially in small maps (namely Hill, Island, Arena and Sandbox) and the larger percentage of PRO battles, mainly comprised of XP/BP battles and Parkour, will for the most part remain unaffected. Moreover, I'd beg to argue that in the long-term, this will solve the occasional M2-at-Legend rank problem (not just Legend, but you know where I'm getting at) which we face on a regular basis since the price jump between different modifications allow for an easier, more obtainable price tag for the next modification. These are the apparent benefits I can name of the top of my head. We'll still see the deeper, unnoticed game aspects this update will impact tomorrow.

  24. I agree that it's not an easily obtainable solution, but it is a solution. You can't expect to have a countermeasure to an Overdrive ready at all times, and I'm not just talking about Hornet. Overdrives in general are meant to give their respective users an advantage when triggered, just how big of an advantage that is largely relies on how skilled the player is at using that ability. If you engage a player with an Overdrive active head-on, you shouldn't be surprised if you wind up dead. In my case, dealing with Hunter's OD was a massive headache until I learned how to deal with them - mainly by keeping my distance and running away should I spot them creeping my way ? So, I wasn't being sarcastic when I said Hornet doesn't need a nerf, it sits comfortably among other Overdrives and its effectiveness ranges between being mildly good if used poorly to being a game-changer in the right hands, same as all other Overdrives. And yes, Scout is the one that makes Rail fire super fast.
