What you want is done best by voice chat. Clans are using voice communicators better than anybody else. Though, voice chat in random teams most of the time being used for offencive language (remember xbox, lol), rather than battle coordination, we will eventually introduce it to the game. While this suggestion is, really, whole another story. The Idea is to make it belivable that tanks are alive.

You might not need to! If this is much complicated than a simple picture, than you might do better using chat instead. A 'chat-bubble' over your head will draw desirable attention to your words. While simple icon of 'attention' with exclamation mark might do the job in most cases.

You mean like WoT and WT? This is not how I would like to see it. Icons and messages in these games are 'realistic'. You better use voice chat to communicate, while similar short message system is something like... well... just another way to communicate. Rarely I have seen anything but "roger that!" been used. While in TO this might be whole another story. We can't add voice chat for a while. And we are not keen on realism. So, why not make communication with bubbles and stuff? Again — this should be done to reinforce idea of player being a tank. Seeing other tanks adequately responding to my actions with emotions and text balloons will convince me as a player to believe in idea above. This is to make tanks feel ALIVE, maaaaaan. This is why I am not really like what Rohrmeister suggesting. I do not care if someone on a battlefield orders me around. But I would be interested to see some emotions from tanks, as long as I know there are people behind them. Chat emoticons seems like whole other idea. Besides, I am not really liking it. Making chat into smiley-fest is.. vulgarly i'd say.

Will you be able to remember which is which in battle? This is better to be kept as simple as possible. Communication system is made simpler = more people using it. Besides, we do not need to replace EVERY communication with icons, aren't we? Only most versatile. For example — 'yes/no' is simple and versatile. 'place mines at' is not. Though I am looking forward to making as many icon options as possible, basic set should be tight. And versatile! If you want to ask for help you might use 'exclamation mark'+'attack', if you want ask to drug you might use 'question mark'+using any suppliy and so on. Making it possible to add/remove/change basic set of icons is whole another idea.

It come to my mind that if allies will be able to see icons of supplies popping up from your tank when you using them, they can guess that you might use some support one the matter. So, if passive icons on using supplies will do good on pop-up, than I have another suggestion: need to make it possible to choose whether or not only allied tanks or enemies also will be able to see pop-ups. Easiest way to do it by connecting the system to battle chat. If your chat is set to your own team only, than any icon you show will only be seen by your teammates.

Making actual smiley faces would hurt the idea of "I am the tank". How about making it look like MGS games does?

You can't insult anybody by emotion icons, untill I made offensive icon for you. Why would I do that? :D

A strong spell of "argument" I see. Let me cast a counterspell of "SCD" and "options" on it :D There will be needed two crucial additions to the system: - any icon works like ordinary supplies, locking down other icons until reasonable cool down is met - player can always turn them off by settings menu

Everybody likes to suggest, so do I! Let's see how it goes.. As long as most of the players think that in TO universe they are the tanks I suggest making emotion icons over tanks with quick chat commands to support this attitude. Let's say you want to say "hi". You press a button (or combination) and system do this for you. Not only it sends a message "hi" on suitable language to battle chat, but shows a bubble over you tank with "hi" icon. Same thing will happen if player would like to express anger, thank or call to attack enemy base. Localized chat message + bubble over tank so you can see who calls. There also should be passive emotions when a player self destructing, chatting, changing equipment, pausing, taking gold etc. This will make tanks even more 'alive'. Probably, upon using or picking up a supply box icon also should be shown (without chat message). In this case, tanks will gain their own emotions so the game will support players idea that they are the tanks, also it will make international communication much easier.

"If MY camper spot has gone, I want to..." - how childish of you. This is getting out of hand. Blockers on Serpukhov map will stay. They got nothing to do with Shaft in particular. End of story.
-
Haven't I stated this got nothing to do with Shafts?
-
72 maps! I can't keep an eye on 72 at once!Besides, for a long time Serpukhov never been famous map. It wasn't an issue back then.
-
Shaft is best at camping, true, but it doesn't meen Shaft allowed to camp in non playable zones. If you want to camp successfully you need to move constantly, change positions and play it smart. Or pick a heavy hull unstead. I said it several times during this topic, I'll say it one last time — adapt. Nothing said in this topic will remove blockers on Serpukhov.
-
It does, this is why the change happend. It got nothing to do with the shaft but as long as you mentioned it shaft is 1 of 11 other turrets in the game. I hardly can consider 1 of 11 as "general population". Welcome to "vocal few". Blockers will remain for reasons stated in my previous posts. Shaft will have to either adapt or lose in its effectiveness which will lead to changes in its parameters.

“Inflation” even in the virtual world? Ridiculous rising “prices” in Tanki
Opex-Rah replied to jomama_tanker in Archive
You have completely ignored my comment about Kits being a special type of discount, not the item itself. Oh well... I got nothing to do neither with items pricing, nor with discounting policy. Therefore, I can't argue with you either pricing is justified or not but... If players do not feel that prices are justified somebody can really consider make them to. And if last year's sales will be considered to be the source of this lack of price meaning I believe this kind of attitude from players may result in removing sales entirely in the long run. I wonder what will be introduced instead. Well, anyway... All I can say is the idea that these virtual goods got no good reason to be changed in price as long as there is no "manufacture" and "distribute" cost, is false. The game's economy runs on TIME and crystals are only a convenient way to evaluate it. Making higher prices makes players give more time to get them (by time itself or donation). Balance of free 2 play game economy is maintained by required time to get what player want. And even if making another 500 billion supplies costs nothing, time balance should be maintained. If maintaining makes Kits offer less discounts Kits will offer less discounts. As they are from now on.
