Nice idea. Please don't implement it for "use ___ supplies" achievements though.

TX is not TO. It works in TX because the mastery system pretty much requires a matchmaker. In TO there is not mastery system, just M0 M1 M2 M3 and M4.

The guides that say that Vulcan should not be used at short range were written at a time when Vulcan was actually relevant. Now it's so bad you HAVE to use it a short range.

I don't think you understand. You get paid for views ONLY if you have an ad on your video. Where do you think the money comes from? Youtube decides to give channels money just because their videos were watched? You get copyrighted not because you earn money, it's because you're breaking copyright laws. Did you even read the article you gave me?
-
I take it you didn't notice the bit called "Types of Ads?" Here's a quote from the very article you referred me to: "You don't make money based on the amount of views you have. You make money based on people's engagement with the ad."
-
You can't get any money from views or subscribers if you don't have ads on your videos. They do not get any money from Youtube.

Your history of TO was interesting but the end bit? Seriously? Anyway, before we declare Tanki apocalypse let's consider some other games. First things first, here are the popularity charts for Tanki Online in both English and Russian: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=%2Fm%2F07s84qp https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%BA%D0%B8%20%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B9%D0%BD You'll notice they somewhat resemble the normal curve. Now here is the popularity chart for World of Tanks, the biggest free to play tank game on the market. I think it's a good comparison because it came out in 2009 like Tanki Online. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=%2Fm%2F0c03cdz The trend is quite similar. Popularity increased for a while, but after a peak it started to decrease. It's worth noting that popularity started to decline about the same time as did TO's. Now, WoT obviously isn't as popular as it once was. Does that mean it's dying/dead? Not by any stretch of the imagination. Currently there is a massive graphics update in the works. It's developers wouldn't put so much effort into it if they knew the game was dying. Now let's look at War Thunder, probably WoT's biggest competitor (also free to play): https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=%2Fm%2F0r3w7jk Again, the chart is quite similar. War Thunder is probably the farthest from dying out of the three. Naval forces and modern tanks are being added to the game in addition to the existing WW2 aircraft and tanks. Finally, let's look at Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2. They aren't about tanks, but both are very popular free to play games that have been around for a long time. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=%2Fm%2F060phy https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=%2Fm%2F0dlkwn1 Same pattern. There is a peak, then a decline. Yet neither game is one that I'd call dead or dying. What's the conclusion? Once they reach a peak, games naturally lose players over time. They can't grow forever. But this does not mean they are going to die soon. It's also important to remember that these charts do not shot the number of players. They show search interest, eg, how many people went and typed "Tanki Online" into their search bar.

This is some quality r/Im14AndThisIsDeep material.

"Purely coincidental."

It's an extremely stupid update that happened in October 2016, as part of a major re-balance. Prior to that, you could buy M3s starting at Brigadier (starting with Thunder and Isida) until Commander (ending with I think Ricochet and Firebird), just like M1 and M2. Now, everything just unlocks at Marshal. Do note that micro-upgrading your equipment without speed-ups costs the same as simply buying that equipment, so in your position I think it would be a good idea to choose a combo and start micro-upgrading it to M3. Take advantage of micro-upgrade sales.

So far an interesting experience. Apart from the obvious formatting differences, HTML5 version is less optimized. In TO client I get 60 FPS max graphics, in HTML5 less than 30 FPS on max graphics. Perhaps some of this is because of lag and because it's a browser. Another difference: the garage. Here's the TO garage, max graphics. It looks quite aliased (jagged edges). Here's the HTML5 garage: No aliasing! This is definitely an improvement. Apparently decimals are not recognized. Overdrive icon is slightly different. Probably the biggest difference is in the physics/camera movement. The camera moves much faster, and gravity seems to be higher. I can't exactly identify what feels different about driving, but it I think the acceleration is greater. In TO it feels like you are driving "bricks on ice" (to quote developers), in HTML5 it feels like you are watching a video that is sped up 2x, jerky movement and all, yet the speed is the same. The sound is really messed up. It sounds muffled and hollow, as though there's a low pass filter applied over everything. Turret rotation sound is too loud. When multiple sounds play at once they clip. I've noticed that the first time I spawn into a battle, I can't do damage until I self-destruct. In short it is both impressive and promising that HTML5 is up and running, but there are still many rough edges to be polished.

Name one thing in tanki that had the biggest nerf (with reason)
ThirdOnion replied to murcielagoes in Archive
Being much faster and having a low profile while maintain the same HP pool is "slightly inferior?" I think it is the other way around. But you are right, is it a stupid update. -
This is a secret. There was a thread at some point in which some players managed to figure out the equation, but that has changed by now. What I meant was: were your crystal earnings consistent with the rest of the team? Did the players who earned around the same amount of EXP as you did also get a low crystals reward?
-
What was your score at the end of the battle? Crystals earned are proportional to EXP earned.

Please don't insult analytics. They are not the ones who create and implement updates.

I'm pretty sure that taking a chunk of health away from your enemies would cause them to notice you, not the sound.
-
5k is far too cheap. Maybe 20k. I don't want to play in battles full of color vomit. Or perhaps make basic colors (blue, red, yellow) cheaper than more complicated colors (orange, turquoise, etc).

How can a sound be "blunt?"

Here are the TO flags: Here's everyone's favorite "supply:" Some pictures of crystals:

Let's discuss the other Overdrives devs want to implement
ThirdOnion replied to D.a.n.t.e in Archive
By "nerfing cone angle" I meant reducing cone angle. And yes, I think this was a nerf. But it wasn't a lie, since what was communicated by the devs was exactly what happened. On the subject of Railgun, consider two things: A. Rail alteration is available starting at M2 only. B. Rail alteration costs crystals. What is the conclusion? The number of Rails with "old stats" is less than the number of Rails with "new stats." Pretty much every single turret that was changed during the big re-balance received an alteration that made it more similar to it's original state. Why was this done? In my opinion two reasons: to make money, and not to anger old players who hated the new changes (like myself. I intend to buy the Railgun alteration when I have enough to do so). Alterations do not affect the balance significantly, since the majority of players do not have alterations. -

My bad. In any case, it was not a lie. Nerfing Isida's cone angle made it more precise, meaning that if there were two tanks in front of you, you would no longer accidentally heal the one that had full HP because of the cone angle. Note D.a.n.t.e's choice of words. He said that the change was intended to make Isida aim better but made it harder to aim. Aiming better means being more accurate. An Isida that is accurate is one that goes exactly where you point the ray at, meaning if you miss a tank by a millimeter it won't register. An Isida that is easy to aim is one that will "snap on" to a tank if you are slightly off. These are two completely different meanings. An accurate Isida cannot be an easy to aim Isida and vice versa. So I am not sure why this is a lie. Maybe at best it's a poor choice of words. -

To be fair, his posts were actually somewhat constructive this time . . . it's still funny given his reputation though. -

First of all, Rail was "nerfed" because they wanted to make it easier to use for new players, not because it was OP. Second, you actually have to pay for the alteration. So it's not just "adding back." How many players do you see with old Railgun stats? What is this Isida alteration you are talking about? There is no alteration that reduces cone angle, at least not for Isida. Broadband emitters increases cone angle.
