I love shaft and nothing is any better than using LC on a fast moving map...I cannot begin to hit opponents in sniping mode on HTML... So that drives me to Vulcan, Thunder, Rico and SMoky...or I compromise my soul and use the Rapid Fire augment?

Totally agree with you on the protections. I only started taking mine above 40 once I had turrets at max. Rico is an amazing turret and highly versatile, as is Vulcan. I use the MFS on the rico (and got it a long, long time ago before it was 245k). The game play on Rico is one of the most fun (IMO) allowing for all sorts of attacks. Mounted on the viking it can clear a path for a great attack. I am horrible with hammer. I think smoky is underrated and with so few protections often performs quite well. Gauss arrived while I was gone for 18 months or so. Since returning I got it and have slowly got it to 13/20. It is a great hybrid turret with unreal potential. If you enjoy it, I'd say go in on Gauss and Rico. Or Gauss and save for the augment when on next sale. My personal favorites to use are Shaft, Vulcan, Thunder, Rico and Smoky. I prefer a midfielding role on a team and these turrets (except Shaft since it was nerfed) all deliver great damage and versatility on a variety of maps.

Mount her on Viking and have fun for those 7 seconds...just be sure to hit as many supplies before activating the OD...on CP, Siege, Assault it is a game changer...4-5 kills automatically

I always prefer to face a firebird rather than freeze...something about helplessly watching my tank get encircled by a blizzard of death turns me off?

Many thanks!!! I kept using the link provided at flash client startup. Never saw the other page before.
-
Do you have an HTML5 client for Mac? I only have the flash one. The link downloaded an exe file which doesn't work on mac. Thanks for any help.

Please fix the HTML5 shaft in sniping mode. It is unplayable in battles that have quality opponents.

How is it going with the sledge hammer?

I prefer the incendiary bands for a two reasons...1) once I hit a target (unless they have immunity to afterburn...fairly rare still) they are marked and easy to track behind objects since the afterburn damage keeps following them. 2) it allows me to win many 1v1 battles by using the afterburn effect...hit and hide...let afterburn work...hit again and hide...works great unless they have afterburn immunity.

The only time vulcan stops shooting for me is when mounted on viking and using the OD. I have to stop for a few seconds after Viking OD is over and then resume shooting. Because of that only use the OD when at a distance from enemies.
-
EMP immunity could be really helpful! I never use mammoth however. Titan is my preferred Heavy hull.
-
I haven't seen the OD yet, but no OD should kill the user. I don't think Wasp gets killed by its nuke...isn't that correct? Just checking.
-
Bummer...I know when I lucked into Fire Immunity I switched to using Vulcan and quit equipping fire protection. So does Vulcan prot reduce afterburn at all?
-
IF you have heat resistance, 50% vulcan prot, 50% fire prot., and/or DA, your mammoth or titan should be able to dish out an absurd amount of damage before killing yourself. Look at combining fire protection and double armor when playing with the incendiary band. It will extend your time tremendously... For example, the Heat Resistance will reduce afterburn damage from 300 a sec to 150 a sec. Add on 50% fire protection and that is now 75 per sec. Hit Double Armor and it is now 37.5 per second. You can spray a heck of a lot of fire-breathing bullets in a mammy or titan (remember the titan dome) before needing a repair kit. PLEASE SEE TheCongoSpider's comment re: Fire Protection no longer reducing afterburn on Vulcan users.

Yes, use the Sledgehammer!!! The name says it all (and it truly delivers on it). Sledgehammer unleashes consistent damage midrange and in. As always, maximize splash damage by aiming at walls beside targets hidden, rocking shots into ground where enemies are hiding behind objects with no wall behind them, and aiming at the central tank in clusters on siege, CP, assault. I use it on larger maps to help me find enemy tanks who are camping due to the faster shot rate. Aim at the corner of the hulls of slower turrets such as Railgun to disrupt the enemy's aiming and win 1v1. Do kit up in thunder protection no matter what if you are going to use this turret. It is best used on medium hulls IMO due to the increase health and mobility (since splash damage is inevitable in battles). Hope this helps.

There are fewer and fewer Thunder protections these days and it is leading to some nice games. While we weren't a good team, the thunder/viking scored well many siege games today.

Yes the HTML-thing that allows me to see enemies is like a cheat code for sure:) The jerky nature of tracking and sniping a moving enemy however forced me back to flash.

I just got suckered into splashing the much saved up tanki coins I had saved up on 10 Ultra containers...do NOT get them. I received nothing from 10 other than 250 mines, 250 da, 125 dd, 125 speed, 7000 cry, Egypt paint, and I can't remember the other item. I have had much better luck just getting containers weekly and 3 times getting an augment. Please do not waste ANY time on them. Huge rip off.

Is TO mobile on the iphone yet? Can't imagine how hard that would be to use. Do you use the HTML5 or Flash based client on your PC? I have a horrible time on the HTML5 client with shaft...hence use Vulcan, Rico, Thunder...let importance on aiming quickly and precisely.

I didn't own a Dictator till I came back recently. Am almost at m8 Dictator now (, but have been incredibly happy with sniping angles from the Dictator. I have made lots of kills from vantage points no other hull could achieve. On a side note, I went hunting the other day with Shaft/Hornet and the LC augment...it was a wrecking ball for sure when the OD was employed...can one shot every tank with DD activated...don't even have to fully scope for light and medium hulls either.
-
Three quick questions for shaft users: 1) Which hull do you all prefer to mount shaft onto? 2) What augment(s) do you have for shaft and hull you prefer? 3) Why do you prefer that set up? In other words, what are the strengths and weaknesses (if any) of your preferred set up? Thanks ahead of time:)

I like the stability of hunter with shaft for sure...It stays on target much easier than on viking or hornet.
-
Thunder still has its place in TO, but it all depends on the protections IMO. Since I've been back ( during COVID-19) there a lots less protections vs Thunder. Mounted on Viking it is quite formidable. Certainly limited at long range (unlike Gauss), but still effective mid-range. Just depends on your style of play.
-
That's a cool idea. Certainly it would need to allow you to control it even after destruction IMO.
