Yeah, I'll have to apologize to you twice. One for forgetting to reply to your post, and the other for misunderstanding what you were trying to say here. So my bad x2. Anyway, while I do think your suggestion is a much needed improvement over what we have now, I think the old system was the best system because it took 4x as long to reach each rank allowing newbies to truly develop their skills and strategies, as well as giving them a decent amount of crystals to upgrade their stuff. And if they had an actual tutorial (not those stupid missions that call themselves "tutorial missions"), the number of legend ranked players who don't know how to turn their turret would fall dramatically.

Gaslighting is still gaslighting regardless if its true or not. Pretty sure it was heavily influenced by the ToA at the second half. It started On November 10th originally, but had to be postponed because the game shutdown for awhile. It was finally continued on December 10th and lasted the 27th of december. The ToA announcement was made on the 4th where players were given 500 free tks and a daily tankoins pass for 20 days (150 tankoins each day) resulting in 3500 tks in total among other things. So assuming the ToA was given on the 4th, then players and their accounts would have reached at least 3500 tks as soon as the 24th, 3 days prior to the fund ending on the 27th. I'm actually curious where the progress was at for the 2022 winter esports fund before it got postponed. If it wasn't for the back to back events that have taken place for the past few months prior to the fund and the increase in tk price, then yeah, we could've hit 30 tiers.

Maybe armadillo and spider can be excluded from the nerf for now? Probably just keep an eye on them after the turret modules get nerfed I guess. I do recall being in many battles that would end real early. Would allow players to get into the next battles earlier rather than having to endure the current one. Really was a QoL feature during those days. Also IIRC, we didn't have a system that entices players to stay in the battle despite being on the losing team like crystal rewards increasing by 1-5% every minute or an extra star every 4 minutes or so. Also the reward difference between the losing team and the winning team was like night and day. And I think there's a mission that exists that requires players to be in the winning team to complete it.

Why can't i use a mouse to control my turret on mobile?
PirateSpider replied to DefkwargX in Archive
Not sure why you would want mouse controls on mobile. Sounds like it'd be very difficult to play like that. -
I have literally said that its mainly due to the constant back to back events that have taken in the last few months prior to the fund. And on top of that, the price was increased by 40%. If it werent for those two, we'd probably have reached the last tier by now. Imagine being desperate enough that you feel the need to gaslight other players. What toxic behaviour. Anyway, I have evidence supporting my claim, do you have any proof to support yours?
-
Really? Always seemed like I see more 6 teammates and more than 6 enemies on those maps on any given time. Have you heard of an early battle termination system? Mainly because of the back to back events (team contracts, sakura blossom, cosmonauts minigame, build&fight) that have taken place over the past few months prior to the fund. Its also partly on the players who spent their tankoins on these events causing their tankoins to dry up by the time the fund arrived. There's even significant proof of this being the most likely main cause why the fund has failed. The second biggest reason would probably be the increase in the price. If it werent for these two alone, we probably would've hit the 30 tier mark by now. Doubled from what? The previous system where we had 10-15 exp per kill? Or the current system where its like 50-100 exp per kill? Honestly, I would just nerf the max prots down to 40% from 50% and the min down to 1% from 5%. Then make them an unlockable feature at the rank of either master sergeant or WO1. That way new players don't feel completely overwhelmed. The same should be applied to drones and augments.

I'm sure everyone would prefer battles where the rank ranges and gs gaps are appropriate. I am no different here. However, I would like to also add that I would like battles where I feel I have plenty of space to move around and not feel crowded in. For example, I'm aware that sandbox, sandal, and cross grew in size in their remastered versions. However I still feel that 10v10 or 12v12 is still too many players for their size. I think 5v5 or 6v6 would be far better. Hell, even being down to 7v7 would be a vast improvement on those maps. Who knows? I guess whatever they like? Simple answer: Removed. Never should've been added in the first place. At least that's what I would've done. You want to ask me a few more questions?
-
I mean, sure its not perfect. But considering the last 2 funds we've seen had 50 tiers, had mono paints that took up 11 of the spaces, the container tiers only had 1-3 containers per slot, pulsars were the only augments, and all the main rewards were shoved to the very end. I think this fund is a much better alternative. Honestly, with your comments, it'd be better if you stopped playing this game and find another game to replace it. They aren't gonna stop. I don't even have much hope in the English tester, the only ones who seem to be getting through to the devs. They might be soon let go, as they are getting in the way of AP's precious plans to profit. I would just remove the MM system and replace it with the old quick battle system. Where we could choose the battles we want to join, the system would generate the battle when players click on the "generate" button.
-
That's on AP for releasing broken things like pulsars, status augments, hybrid augments, crisis (which was a cancer at one point), etc. And its no wonder why people just camp these days.
-
Honestly, if it were up to me, I would have removed it from regular MM and made it an event mode again like it used to be. Then I would bring back DM for regular MM. I also feel like TJR might not be suitable for regular MM, so it might be best if it also became an event mode. I would also create 2 more modes: • A Team captain mode (TCPT) - same objectives as TJR but the captain isn't using the jug tank, just their own. • A King of the Ring mode (KOTR) - Player with the longest total time spent in the ring wins. If you die, your time will stop, and will continue when you get back into the ring. Battle will end when the battle timer runs out. And then put all the regular MM modes on rotation so that we this each week or two: 1 solo mode - DM or KOTR 1 team mode that requires kills - TDM or TCPT 1 capture mode - CTF or rugby 1 territory mode - CP or seige.
-
I honestly couldn't care less what happens with ASL. ? That mode was never meant to be played on a regular basis to begin with. And the way they incorporated it as part of regular MM was beyond baffling. Most of the maps with this mode the teams were a night and day comparison, attackers got the lions share of the map being 75% to 90%, while defenders just got a meager 10% to 25% of the map. The mode has probably the biggest battle length gap out there. Sometimes it would last the entire battle, and sometimes when the the attacking team has good cappers, the battle wouldnt even make it to the 6th minute. And as for the abuse, capping isn't the only way to get alot of points. You could also just use a splash turret and shoot at the defending team, resulting in alot of multi kills. Exactly.

You are greatly underestimating the general naivety and gullibility of at least 40% of the player base. If we were talking about getting a large TOA, then included the fact that a good portion of the player base are naive and gullible, then almost everything I have been saying about for the past month would have been true.
-
Bold of you to assume that I said that. ?
-
And I'm not sure how you got that number. Though even if you got that many tks, the back to back events we have had in the past few months would chew through that very quickly. There were four of them each with an entry fee of 700 tks, totaling in the final cost being 2800 tks. That would leave you with 851 tks left. Even if the fund entry fee was still at 990, you would still have to grind for at least 3 weeks to be able to buy it. The only way to truly prove this is to have a period of time with none of these back to back events (say about 4-5) and then have a fund after that period of time. If that particular fund doesn't get very far past 13 tiers by the end, then I'll be willing to admit it.
-
I mean sure, the declining playerbase can be a contributing factor. But like I said, there's reason to believe/think that if it werent for the back to back events we've had lately, we would've likely seen 8-12 tiers reached alone, basically double of what we are at now. Thus why at least me and possibly quite a few others are gonna call it the single biggest factor. If the price had stayed at 990 tks, we probably would've reached another 4 or 5 tiers. So it can pretty much be considered the next biggest factor. If we were in 2023, the birthday fund was what was going on right now, and we had those back to back events for the past few months. We would not be able to jump to 20 tier within a couple weeks like we did. We would have maybe just barely reached tier 15 on like week 3 and the final result would've been about 17-18 million, not 40 million. And I don't know what the 2023 summer esports fund would've looked like. Maybe 10 million at best if I wanted to be generous. It'd probably be more like only 5-6 tiers realistically. Not 22 million like it did.
-
That's pretty vague evidence honestly. Can't even rely on it. There's more concrete evidence that suggests that the back to back events we've had in the past few months (team contracts, sakura blossom, cosmonauts minigame, build&fight, etc) are the main reason why the fund didn't go very far. All these events would drain the tankoin balance of those who were naive enough to buy them instead waiting for a fund, and by the time the fund came, they'd likely have spent all their tankoins. The increased tankoins price would be a good 2nd reason, but we don't know how many of those who had between 700-1400 did it affect. Of course they're not gonna listen to the idiots that are gaslighting them. As they shouldn't. Still, gaslighting is a behavior that shouldn't be encouraged as its extremely toxic. Hate to break it to you, but even the large TOA we got last year wont be able to save you if you spent them on each of those back to back events that took place the last few months. Even if the price was still 990, you'd still have to work your tail off struggling to make that last 290 tankoins if you were a F2P.

Steam's upcoming summer sale.
PirateSpider replied to PirateSpider in Steam's upcoming summer sale. Archive
For those who use steam, the summer sale is coming up soon, maybe as soon as the 27th of june. I plan on getting FF5 and another FF game that I still haven't decided on. What are you guys planning on getting on the steam summer sale? -
We really need to stop saying this when we don't even have proof that they are the main reason why the fund isn't doing so well. All this will do is cause other players to start gaslighting them, like what one player on the forum has been doing since the winter 2023 exports fund.

Why do my shots appear as though I'm hacking, even though I'm not?
PirateSpider replied to DefkwargX in Archive
While I do agree to an extent that shots going through walls can be a good indication of aimbot users, I don't think its right to rule it out as such right away without having more conclusive evidence. If the shots go through the walls 3-4 or more times consistently without fail, then it can be considered report worthy. Sometimes shots going through walls can also be a result of servers not recognizing the obstacles in time. -
Especially to those who did not manage their crystals properly. My very first account is a great example of this. Made alot of mistakes early on such has buying equipment at full price, buying extra equipment that I don't need, etc. Now that its rank is general it just seems near impossible for it to compete with anyone that's even close to its rank. And as each year passes, that gap just seems to get bigger and bigger.

PirateSpider replied to DefkwargX in Archive
The game's servers are just having a hard time keeping up with everything that's going on. I have a theory that's added to this, not sure if its correct but here goes: The servers have to simultaneously keep up with everything that goes on in the game. And I don't mean just what's happening in that particular battle. I could also involve things like keeping up with what's happening in other battles, the entire MM system, players opening their garages, claiming their missions or opening their containers, purchases being made, accounts being made, etc. Literally everything. So no I don't think you are hacking. I think the servers are just being stressed to their limits. -
You really need to stop blaming the wrong people and trying to force them to participate. I have been saying the whole time the true reasons why the fund wont do well. Even if the players who are holding out all decided to join in, we'd only get about 3-5 more tiers. Yeah, they should never have held the team contracts, sakura blossom, and build&fight events in the way they did. I would've just: •scrapped team contracts, •save build&fight for tankers day, •made cosmonauts mini game free to participate and cheap like past minigames, •kept sakura blossom for the months of February and march •brought back ultra weekends for weeks without events •brought back contests like quizzes, MOPs, "The Game", etc to keep things interesting • made the tanki fund entry fee back down to 990 tks.

Can't debate on the winter 2022 one or any of the funds before that as I never partook in them. But I can say that the 2023 birthday fund was worse than this one. Only thing it really had going for it was that it was the cheaper fund. The 2023 birthday fund gave out these items if completed: •5 augments (all of which were pulsars). •6 skins (3 legacys, 2 GT, 1 SE). • 30 regular containers and 30 ultra containers. • A nuclear energy supply, a module slot, Crisis and Hyperion drones, and an armadillo module. This fund would've given out these items if completed: • 500 of each supply + 40 nuclear energy. • 5 augments (more variety). • 6 skins (2 gt and 4 random from the keys). • 30 regular keys, 65 rare keys, and 120 epic keys. • A module slot, crisis drone, and armadillo module. So if we looked past the price difference, this is easily the better fund between it and the 2023 birthday fund.

Not only that but how early you could get them and fully upgrade them. If I remember correctly, kits bought with crystals would unlock 4-5 ranks before they would unlock individually while kits bought with $$ would unlock 2-3 ranks before the crystal kits. I think the m1 kits were a few measly bucks, the m2 kits about $20 or so, and m3 lists around $50 or more? But yeah, it was not a fun time being F2P especially the low and mid ranks back then.
