Congratulations to Ranger7! He has been selected to be the next reporter for the English newspaper! Tankmen and tankwomen! With the recent resignation of one of our reporters, we have an empty spot on our roster. Now is the time to show us your writing skills, and apply for a job with us in the Newspaper for the English community. What to do: For the next week, all of you will have to write to a specific prompt, which is given later in this post. Requirements for writing pieces: 1. Must relate to the given prompt. 2. Should fill up 1.5 to 2 pages of Microsoft Word documents. (12-point font) 3. No double spacing any lines. 4. Grammatically flawless. 5. Post it to this topic by August 3, 11:59 PM (EST). 6. No essays -- only stories. It would be preferred if it were to be related to Tanki in some way, shape, or form. 7. Post your entries in this topic only. No PM's to any reporters asking for feedback or guidance. After all applications have been entered, the English Press staff will discuss and determine the best three writers. Then, those three will be PMed another prompt, and will be expected to write a composition under the same requirements in three days, and PM it back to a reporter. Come to think of it, pheonix, that topic is a dupe of this one. This one has been around for well over a year. Anything funny belongs here. In the other topic, however, Bruce wanted to see if there were any good prospects for a comic section of the newspaper, or a separate 'shindig' altogether.

That was from quite some time ago, where 1.0 and 2.0 were separate projects. As I said, 1.0 will slowly turn into 2.0. The shadows in the game are proof of that. Eventually, there will be a massive graphics-overhaul of the game, and more people will realize the changes that are happening.

You assume that all people here are stupid. Sometimes, during an intelligent conversation, a person may use a swear word in a non-offensive way, or not even aimed to another another person at all. Speculating a word is not ban-worthy. The only times that swearing is considered illegal here is when it is intended towards another player in a derogatory manner. So far, technology is not advanced enough to differentiate between the two.

Seeing as Update 1.97.00 is being worked on right now, I believe that it is safe to assume that Update 2.0 will be here in the next few months, if not sooner. That link is primarily for testers, whose jobs are to work with new game software and graphics to find any problems they might have. Occasionally, the test server may be made open to the public, but only if the developers find a good reason to do so. So far, it has only been host to 1.0 and 1.5 graphics--never 2.0.
