There are currently no intentions of updating it. It was a project started by Bry and myself, but we didn't have the manpower (or the memory) to maintain it. With the shutdown of the Amateur Writer's Club, the project is made even more daunting, because the AWS helpers would no longer be able to restrict the record to a select group of writers. It'd have to be an archive of every single writer to ever submit to the AWS, and the pieces by them. That's a pretty vast pool of people.

 

I'm still deciding if we'll leave the archive present, or if we'll just remove it altogether. On one hand, it's easier to access the writing from some writers there, but on the other hand, it doesn't represent a large amount of writers, and will have outdated information.

I understand that helpers are busy, both because they are busy helping, and helpers tend to be more grown up people (15+ on the least). And we know how busy grown ups are. So maybe a few brave, enterprising, non-helper individuals can take up the task of archiving all articles published recently - say, 1st May on wards. We would only put up writings published before this date if they are a part of an ongoing series.

 

Surely the reporter administration has no problem with that?

Erm...I did...

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but the whole post talked about the AWS? Perhaps another read and you'll see my point. Anyway I guess there's no point debating over it now since he is no longer a Reporter.

Looking over my own body of work, I see that the majority of my stories are now in the Amateur Writing Archive. Does this mean that, if you choose to remove the archive, those all disappear? 

I think they're referring to the AWC archive topic which lists all the writers past and present and their writings. Link We def wouldn't remove any of the articles from the archives themselves. except for maybe the ones flabs wrote.
