Patch Update #785 - Released 6th December 2024

 

List of changes:

  • Changed how ricocheting works. Now, after a projectile ricochets, its speed is equal to the initial speed, no matter what its speed was before ricocheting.

    • (Note) This behaviour works for all turrets which have projectiles that can ricochet and that have different initial and final projectile speeds

  • Ricochet

    • Initial projectile speed remains 90-180

    • Final projectile speed decreased from 90-180 to 10-10

    • Time to reach final projectile speed increased from 0 to 1

    • “Plasma Resonator” augment:

      • Projectile speed increase changed from +50% to +0%.

  • Smoky

    • Initial projectile speed remains 400-700

    • Final projectile speed decreased from 400-700 to 300-500

    • Time to reach final projectile speed increased from 0 to 0.5

  • Vulcan

    • Initial projectile speed increased from 200-250 to 200-300

    • Final projectile speed decreased from 200-250 to 100-100

    • Time to reach final projectile speed increased from 0 to 0.5

  • Scorpion

    • Initial projectile speed remains 500-1000

    • Final projectile speed decreased from 500-1000 to 250-500

    • Time to reach final projectile speed increased from 0 to 0.5

  • The number of mines in the battle is limited to 10 000. In case this number is reached, it will not be possible to put any more mines. The button for placing the mine will be inactivated.

    • (Note) This is a necessary addition in order to increase the stability of servers and to get rid of accompanying errors.

Notice the recent nerfs to longer-range gameplay and buffs to melee turrets might address players' complaints, encouraging players into a more active playstyle rather than camping.

Oh please... I bet the next thing they do is release a super duper exclusive OP aug, which works extremely well in a shorter range, for a supposed to be longer-range turret.

At least in my opinion, this is very good. Many campers only care about their own K/D and don't care about their teammates' feelings at all. [May I ask if you have any plans to adjust the OD of "Dictator" and "Mammoth"? Many people say that their OD is really useless.]

Also, none of this will change when most of the MM map designs are still heavily leaning towards camping, with stuff like multiple open areas and a point in the middle of nowhere.

You know things go seriously wrong when the highest score player in a CP game is not the person who caps the most points, but the guy who has a rail gun and never even leaves spawn once the entire game.

yeah except that my magnum crits for 10k and my shaft oneshots or two shots everyone before they even leave their base. 

or how everyone is still camping so any attacker is being focused by like 5 people at all times.

or how any attacking combos are so expensive to maintain that its basically pay walled.

oh wait forgot the you get 5 kills worth of points for capping a flag. now which one is easier? capping a flag/ball or getting 5 kills lol. 

oh and what do you mean a single player with saboteur can just mine everything making it impossible to attack? 

oh right the nerfs to long range turrets are really great! if i didn't reach the patch notes i wouldnt even think they got changed.

Is this gearing up for some big Ricochet buff in some other paramater next week? The other turrets get increased initial speed or a still good final speed while Ricochet gets nothing but a nerf? Never mind the fact that Plasma Torch sounds like it'll turn into garbage overnight.

It is not like this is the first time they intentionally shifted the meta to promote their latest/to-be-released toy.

Dictator never has a buff! It's the worst hull, extremely bad OD, support range is ridiculous, the effect duration is almost nothing and 2 hits and you and your whole team die to a magnum... It's time to look at a remodel of this hull.

Though it has the best OD for no-drugs games.

Otherwise, yes, it has the worst OD (and has a huge hitbox with barely any benefits in return) in basically every other scenario.

So you really think 300 % dmg without any dmg penalty is balanced tanki?? Please stop making augments like this that are obviously broken... I bought advent calendar but I am disapointed that you making such obvious OP augment just for the sake of profit. This will destroy mm even more... 1K dmg per shot with 0,5s reload.. oh yeah completely balanced and fair against those who wont have that.  This is part of the reason players are leaving this game behind because  short term profit > making game fair. Yes yes this augment will be nerfed,  I am certain of it... after few months when it served its purpose just like every OP nonsense that came into game...  but guess what tanki.... you will lose dozen of players because of that. 

Will be really fun for new players to encounter someone with this augment,  unable to use overpriced protections, unable to use better drones  anything just to make everyone suffer... good job.. few more of this augments in game and we will play single player matches (or different games)

Interesting Update. Nerfed an augment before being able to obtain it.

I really hope they think about the Anti-cheat bug that affects Magnum and the restarting aiming time for Gauss.

Strifing hulls are still op as hell. Crusader absolutely dominating almost every battle. At this point, the track hulls most true to the name of a tank are a joke for most part apart for Vikings and maybe Hunters. Every battle I see literally the same copypaste combo in Top 3 consisting of Crusader/Defender/ some OP augment/ and either Lifeguard or Blaster. So much for balance and diversity in this game.

I doubt that very much.

Camping is preferred by a lot of players because of the annoying augments in the game, scrap them along with trashcans and I for one will venture into the enemies base.

There has never and never will be "BALANCE" in this game.

You want balance down tools, at the very least players should abort all events, no matter what the devs try and entice you with.

Of course this will never happen, but it would be a solution to the multitude of OP, not wanted updates they keep spamming on players.

This is by far the most ridiculous change you did in a while. 
People were buying tankoins just to get the advent calendar offer to get this augment, and now you nerf ricochet and that augment so heavily before its release? This is just spitting in the player's faces at that point. 

You allow hacking in parkour, where most of your income came from, and now you destroy long range weapons like that? 

It's just like you WANT the game to die.

If you want us to play only short range, you could also just remove every long-range turret in the game, that would kill all the fun that the game still had.

I really do hope you change your mind about some of the changes you did in the past and think more about player satisfaction again....

So we've just turned this game into a giant advertisement/promotion for those knockoff games????? Do you really think nerfing the single most ROI item in game is gonna create a good future for the game? Good luck hazel, you've fallen way past the bar, all those games you named in the excuse of knowing 'Game Balancing' was just a facade and you should've stepped down long long before.

This is a first time that an unreleased new augment gets nerfed. Truly well done even if it's still broken

Was there bug/glitch fixes too? Cause I notice Tanki is running a bit smoother lately. Except sometimes have to reload a couple times for preload of matches which is

annoying. I wonder why this happens, maybe cause around prime time there is just too many players during prime time. I use Firefox browser lately, cause Chrome crashes

after like 3 games played.

I think it's just that less people are playing, so there is less load on their infra. Or else they would have announced it like they have solved world hunger.

 

I still remember my ping went to like 600ms on the 1st weekend of the release of a major event quite a while ago.
