  1. Retired ex-cops aren't expected to answer for actions of current officers ? Not really, no.
  2. Idk, you're asking me like I'm some kind of forum mod ?
  3. Since you seem to believe that you know everything that's going on, tell me this — what was the main thing that changed regarding this list of online users, when the forum got upgraded to the new engine a few years ago?
  4. That's the only thing I agree with you on. Forums in general are a relic of the "old internet", from a time before social media and instant messaging became widespread. I still like the concept, because lack of instant communication encourages posts to be longer and better-structured. But all forums are dying and it's not something to try and fix, neither is it something to despair about. I gotta say, the Tanki EN discord server is one of the most active game community servers I've seen, for a game this size. I know way more popular games with official discord communities looking like a ghost town. When I was admin, my message limit was 1000, and it reached 950. Now it's limited to 500 and my inbox is 187% full. You have an existing conversation with me which you could just continue. Or you could come up with yet another conspiracy theory to explain why I don't accept PMs...
  5. This is literally you: I swear you find a conspiracy in anything. The list of gameplay reports is private because people used to stalk it and harrass those who "snitched" a lot. It's not that deep.
  6. Notihing good ever comes out from publicly displaying who reported whom. This information is only relevant to moderators.
  7. My main reason is that there isn't enough incentive to be in a clan. It doesn't give any bonuses or unlock special features besides the clan chat and being able to participate in clan v. clan battles. And, prehaps more importantly, the mandatory clan [TAG] makes my name look ugly.
  8. So... just turn off the lobby music in game settings then?
  9. Meanwhile I haven't been in a clan since 2017 ?

Thanks for reducing the supply missions from 300 to 200. Much appreciated!
  11. I had mine turned on ever since it was added, and recently I turned it off. Now I'm just wondering why I didn't do it earlier. If you want to listen to music, why not just have a youtube tab open and listen to whatever you want?
  12. Are we talking about game violations? The section is empty because all the topics are private and visible only to moderators and the OP.

But what if it meets your expectations and turns out to be exactly what you wanted? Will you wait for others to try it first and check their reviews, and would you then consider paying to play? I'm not sure. I believe in 2024 Opex said that it will likely be subscription-based, with a price similar to 1/10th of TO Premium. But then the early access bundle sales happened and they sold way more than they expected, so Opex basically said that with this much interest, maybe they won't have to force subscriptions after all. I think it will probably be F2P, but with features like battle creation locked behind a subscription.

They don't have to work against one another, as seen in the example of multiple (but rare) successful F2P games which don't have crazy P2W mechanics, yet are run by private game dev studios aming to make a profit. Games like Fortnite are able to do it, but only because they got extremely lucky by finding a good market niche and being in a perfect setup to make the most of it. And also some good decisions, of course. If the players are willing to support Tanki Classic by buying "useless" cosmetics and paying for a subscription, then devs will have enough money to cover the cost of servers and maintenance, so it won't be necessary to sell P2W stuff to boost revenue. Believe whatever you want to believe, I'm not gonna stop you. That's cool if true.

Mate, it's a private company that needs to earn a stable revenue to pay salaries and cover its costs. Seriously, how else would they operate? I'm genuinely curious how you'd expect them to earn money to support the project in a "fair" way. What we can certainly agree on is that devs suck at setting a release date and meeting it. Pretty sure any time there's been an announcement of some new feature and a date for release, it always got massively delayed. So that's why there isn't a concrete release date for TC — they'll announce it when it's done.

All of these issues are related to the economy, and unfortunately you won't get anywhere by asking devs to add more crystal rewards and reduce prices of upgrades. Sure - they will read your feedback, but at the end of the day the game's economy (how much things cost and how much you earn) is decided by actual data, i.e. how much money players are willing to spend. Just a few days ago, lead game dev Opex-rah responded with a solid "no" to a request to make it easier to earn rewards: No. Whether It's an answer you like or not. By the way, I totally agree with you that things are too expensive and crystals take too long to earn for free, but I'm just saying that a more constructive approach would be to suggest changes that improve the gameplay itself, rather than focusing on the economy. Or just wait for Tanki Classic. I genuinely believe that it will be a more friendly environment for free players. Might still be very grindy though, just like early Tanki Online.
  17. That's pretty neat Wow, very unexpected! I guess the novelty really wore off on Crisis and Armadillo... It's been what, 4 years?

Do you have the whole pic? A screenshot of your team alone doesn't tell us much ?
  19. The event missions and 5 UCs provided that small additional incentive for me to play, on top of the normal daily and weekly missions. When the event missions get completed without tedious additional effort, the rewards felt like they are just about worth playing for. The other big factor is the fact that there are now dozens of new augments that I'm unfamiliar with, and on top of that the whole addition of Excelsior augments, which are just a blatant powercreep feature, makes the gameplay experience less and less fun. I've always followed the mantra that video games should be fun, so I'm careful about which games I play and if I feel like a game is no longer fun and turning into an annoying chore, I stop playing it. I've already had this moment in Tanki back in 2017 or so — I basically stopped playing for 6 months, but then it got better and I came back. We'll see, maybe this time it will also get better after a while. Perhaps Tanki Classic is the answer.
  20. Contracts were always too grindy for me. I tried them the first couple times, but then quickly realised that it's not for me. Tanki is the only game that I've been regularly playing to complete missions. The 3-4 battles required to complete dailies is a comfortable amount, so I would always just do those, and the event missions would get completed on their own. But now with the 300-supply missions it's just daunting — I hate the feeling of having just one mission left to do before the main reward, so I'd rather not do them at all.
  21. In case devs are checking this for feedback, I just want y'all to know that I literally stopped playing the game because of the 300-mine and 300-rk missions. They are a chore to complete, and I don't play games where the tasks feel like chores. The "final nail in the coffin" for me was during the last event when I pushed myself to complete the second set of missions and the second 300-RK mission, only to get another one in the third week. No thanks. I would likely start playing again if missions become more manageable and all get completed at a similar rate.

I also like to try and win, but I don't get too upset with one-sided games. And why would you want the old reward distribution back? At least with the current rewards, most people don't mind staying until the end because they'll get almost as much as for winning. By reducing the losing team's rewards, do you want even MORE people to quit early on when they believe that the game is a loss?

True, it's not 100% players' fault. I understand that sometimes players have valid reasons to quit, like being placed into crappy maps (and devs insist on keeping garbage maps like Massacre and refusing to add any sort of map filter to MM), or facing an obvious mismatch in team strength. But a lot of the time players quit a reasonably balanced battle just because the enemy team got an early lead, and that really frustrates me. Like I said above, I've seen multiple examples where strong teammates quit like that (sometimes even accompanied by insults towards the "useless team") and our team ends up winning anyway. I wish more game modes in Tanki would have catch-up mechanics. CP works great in that regard in the sense that the battle result isn't determined until the last minute, and when the score is close, every action could turn the tide. Other modes could use this sort of thing too, as it would encourage players to stay.

It's kinda the players' fault that they give up and leave as soon as the other team gets a lead. It's entirely possible to bring back a losing game, even if the situation looks dire. In one of the best battles I ever had, the other team quickly capped 2 or 3 flags and our teammate proudly announced that "this team is hopeless and trash", before leaving. After he left, we made one of the best comebacks I had the pleasure of being a part of. I don't think penalties are needed. There's already a decent system in place to replace quitters, and the quitters themselves get penalised by wasting their time. Who cares about winning in MM anyway? If I'm in a losing battle, I just chill out and try to get as many kills as possible.
