    Ideas for Game Modes!

    Concept is good, but needs a lot of improvement and details. What does a player do when they become a hostage? Do they stay paused until they are rescued? Do they just switch to the enemy team and try to kill their ex-teammates? How does hostage rescue work? What exactly needs to be done to save a captured teammate? Are groups allowed in this mode? If you suggest that captured teammates will be force-paused, then it's a problem. No player should be forced to stop playing and rely on teammates to get them back into the game - MM doesn't work like that. My own take on this idea is that, once killed, a player from team 1 physically switches to team 2 and continues playing, now against team 1. Now that the remaining players in team 1 are outnumbered, they gain a boost to their stats, such as higher damage, fire rate and armour. If team 2 kills another player, team 1 gets another boost to their already boosted stats. That way even if, in a game that started as 8v8,there is just one guy left vs 15 players, this one guy will be able to turn the game around due to his boosted tank stats. As for scoring, you would get the usual score for kills, but you would also get 2-5 bonus points every time your teammate gets killed and you outlive them. That way you get rewarded for staying on your team the longest. The only remaining problem is groups. Should we expect a player to flight against his friends if he gets killed and switches to the enemy team?

  5. Hey, welcome back :) The reason for changing the skins is actually quite simple. Developers want to make the game more visually appealing, and the first step is updating all tank models to a new look — one that has more polygons, smoother angles, and better details. They're calling them HD skins, and perhaps you've noticed that a few of those already got released for old turrets and hulls. Each of those skins takes a lot more time to produce compared to the older basic skins, and there used to be more than 100 of those skins, when you count every single modification of every turret and hull. Making them all HD and giving them away for free would be a huge waste of resources. Therefore instead developers decided to reduce the number of default skins to just one per turret/hull, reducing the number of HD skins from >100 down to around 40. Since each HD skin takes days/weeks to make, it makes the process more efficient and cost-effective. As a result, all modifications now look the same, but you also have the option to equip XT and other cosmetic skins if you have them. I recommend you check out this topic for a concise list of major updates you've missed.

  9. But reading topics is the job of forum mods, not players. We don't mind reading long topics, so I don't see the point in this rule. Although it is generally best to avoid walls of text and instead describe the idea in 2-3 sentences.
  10. Not always true. Although I'm not sure if this issue depends specifically on the number of players. I've had smooth games without any lag on my phone on some of the biggest maps. But I also had some medium-small maps lag like crazy seemingly out of the blue. It may have something to do with how many other apps you have open at the moment, or perhaps your current battery charge.

    the worst tank game?

    I watched the video and the title is quite obviously clickbait. This guy clearly enjoyed the game quite a lot, and from what I've seen, his only complaint was regarding the graphics. A very minor thing, in my opinion. In fact, this video only confirms that a LOT of improvements implemented by devs over the years have made the game more appealing and accessible to new players. For example: The UI is intuitive and logical — this guy very quickly figured out where to click and the hints helped him a lot. The controls are also intuitive. Mouse controls and hover tank movement mechanics made it extremely easy for him to move the tank the way he wanted to without needing to waste much time getting used to it. The decision to remove skin modifications and update them to HD was 100% correct — this guy clearly said that Twins looked quite bad, which happens to be the only non-HD piece of equipment he used. Overdrive made the game a lot more fun and it was a good decision to add it. The gameplay is easy to understand — you can see how quickly he figured out things like damage indicators, drop boxes, the overdrive ability, etc. That being said, I'm sure his opinion would be more negative if he got to the point where he's facing P2W augments and drones, but that's just the reality of an MMO from 2009 having to find ways to financially support itself.

    Augments for Railgun

    "Best" is a very subjective term due to the fact that everyone's play style is different. Actually, the fact that everyone plays differently is the very reason why we have so many augments. There isn't necessarily a single one of them that's "best". It just depends on what your goal is in battles. If you're looking for a powerful augment to deal the most damage and get the most kills, the best ones are Scout, LCR, Destabilization, Adrenaline, Incendiary. If you want to help your team and disrupt enemy attacks, then Stun, Cryo, EMP and AP augments are the best for that. If you want to try some interesting gameplay strategies with potential for epic combo kills, then there's Hyperspace and Death Herald. If you simply want to slightly adjust stock Railgun to suit your specific needs — there's Stabilization and Reinforced Aiming Transmission. I'd personally say AP, EMP and Stun are the most annoying ones to go up against if you don't have immunities.

  16. Mate, you massively underestimate the significance of dictator. When I join a battle and check the enemy team, it's not the number of Vikings or Hoppers I'm worried about — it's the Dictators. 50% OD charge for every teammate in range is no joke. It's a game changer.
  17. Both are about the same. Hopper is somewhat balanced without Crisis, and Crisis is somewhat balanced when used with other hulls besides Hopper. But put Hopper and Crisis together, and it turns CTF/RGB/ASL gameplay into a joke. But then again, it's hardly any good in other modes.
  18. Man, @yellowghetto was leading the whole game with his Viking Isida, and meanwhile I saw struggling (Ares Striker). With 1 minute left I was still like 10 kills behind, but then got a massive combo and a bunch of lucky shots, and pulled a victory in the end :D
  19. Exactly. ALL of the other overdrives are very powerful, and some even overpowered. Meanwhile Crusader is basically a joke.

  22. Look, this is how the forum works — you start a thread around some specific topic, and people discuss it, inevitably leading away into other related topics to some extent. It seems that most people, who replied above, agree that while Crusader OD recoil is strong, it's not the only, and not the most significant of its disadvantages. So while it would be nice to lave lower recoil, there are more serious disadvantages which should be fixed/removed to make the OD balanced with the rest.
