The idea is good, but consider its balance compared to the other drones. Would you use this drone instead of Defender, Booster, Saboteur, Blaster?

I remember creating a topic like this a couple years ago. Got a few replies and died. Oof

Tanki X Skins | Archive of them / Let's discuss which ones to add in Tanki!
Maf replied to Babi in Archive
Man, I didn't realise they released so many skins in TX. But then again, most of them use the same (or almost the same models) and just add some extra colours/textures/effects on top. To be honest, the coolest one they made was the Steampunk skin, and I'm glad it's coming to TO now. The XT skins also look really cool, and, to be honest, I think that's what the Prime or Ultra series of skins should look like in TO, because at the moment they are both very underwhelming. Also, the existence of Tier 1 and Tier 2 skins means that devs already have a collection of "HD" skins for lower tiers, so that makes me wonder two things: 1) is it even possible to take a TX model and put it into TO, and 2) if it's possible, then will devs eventually add back the lower modification skins for each item, since they only need to make new skins for equipment that doesn't exist in TX (which is currently 3 hulls and 4 turrets). -
I get exactly what you mean. If road traffic was interconnected in a single giant network, they could organise themselves to not only avoid collisions, but also manage traffic flow on a large scale to minimise congestion.

not bad

If the company that produced your car has regulatory permission to allow their cars to drive autonomously without supervision from a human driver, then the accident will be their responsibility. Your condition shouldn't matter, since you are just a passenger.
-
Since I posted this topic, a lot has happened in the world of autonomy. More specifically, Tesla released the beta version of their FSD software, and a number of users are currently testing it in the streets. I've been watching videos of it and, while it still makes dumb mistakes and has a lot to improve on, some of the behaviour it demonstrates is mind-blowing. At Tesla they created a driving AI, which doesn't just allow the car to understand the environment around it and follow traffic rules, but it constantly assesses the situation and makes decisions that are more akin to humans, rather than a "robot". For example, if there's a vehicle stopped in the road for no reason, it may cross the double yellow line to pass it; or if the road markings are weird and confusing, it might ignore them and take a path that's more logical based on surrounding traffic and overall layout. Very impressive system, and it keeps improving with every new version. So you raised very valid concerns regarding an autonomous car not being able to adapt to different driving styles and cultures around the world. However, it is possible to create software that's not only adapted to peculiarities of driving in various locations, but actually learns on the go and changes its behaviour based on interactions with other drivers. That being said, you're completely right that in order to get the highest efficiency out of autonomy, roads must become inaccessible to human-driven cars.

just git gud I think it's actually quite balanced, and even OP in some situations. I have a video where I camped in the tunnel on Silence, and just farmed kills by shooting into the tunnel with AP rico. The shots were impossible to dodge, and every shot applied AP, making it easy to kill them before they reached me. On most other maps there's also plenty of surfaces which you can use to bounce shots, so with enough skill you can keep shooting enemies via a wall, and keep them AP'd the whole time. Combined with the fact that the augment has no drawbacks, this makes it, in my opinion, one of the most powerful status effect augments currently in the game. I'm pretty sure Thunder will get its own special augments soon, as well as all other turrets, like Twins and Vulcan.

Status updated @karm_fate I don't think Rico needs any buffs. A few years ago it already got massively buffed when it's energy reserve (i.e. magazine) was increased from something like 11 shots up to 29 shots. This alone encouraged Rico users to use the ricochet ability more often, since they were no longer heavily constrained by a very limited amount of shots. However, I do like the idea of encouraging use of ricochets even more with things like increased damage or impact force from bounced shots. You forgot to mention Rico AP, which is an augment found in Ultra containers. It rewards players for bouncing their shots by applying the AP effect to enemies if they're hit with a bounced shot.

You mean the chat of the same battle? Or the server chat?
-
I noticed at one point it says something like "People here figured out Tesla doesn't work, which is why no one is using it". This logic is flawed, because everyone (Flash or HTML5) plays on the same servers and same battles. The people on that map were most likely on HTML5, and weren't using Tesla for other reasons, not because it didn't work.

Well there you go - there ARE paints that work as camouflage, right?
-
If you look at the description of most paints, it says that the paint is just a decorative item that might have some camouflaging properties. The reason paints (and skins, and shot effects) are 100% cosmetic, is so that they can be added to the game for any price and in any number, without affecting game balance. Also, adding a paint with an intentional gameplay advantage would ruin diversity. All the 400+ existing paints instantly become useless because of that one paint that has benefits. I'm not sure if this is sarcasm, because there are definitely paints with textures very similar to maps. However, due to the nature of the game and the fact that paints only cover something like 60% of the tank's surface, using them to actually camouflage yourself in plain sight is not very effective.
-
I think it's too OP and far too illogical to allow Shaft to directly snipe tanks by shooting their drone, but it would indeed be cool if you could snipe a tanks' drone and thus disable that player's drone ability for a good amount of time — say, 30 seconds to a minute.
-
It cannot be equipped like a paint. Paints must not give intentional gameplay benefits. No, each hull must have its own unique overdrive to avoid confusion. This will not change.
-
Ever since paints lost their protective properties (which then became Modules), developers decided to keep paints as exclusively cosmetic items, with some limited camouflage potential. At the moment there are no plans to add intentional gameplay advantages to any new paints. However, it's possible that in the future there could be a special ability (for example from a drone, augment, or a new hull's overdrive), which will allow a tank to appear invisible (or less visible) to enemies. Topic title and content edited for clarity.

No, it's not better, because we assign statuses and category tags to each idea separately. We can't have a topic that's both Valid and Declined, so if you include a bunch of different ideas in one topic, we won't be able to assign them different statuses. Also, having multiple ideas makes it impossible to have a concise and descriptive title for the topic, which makes it harder to search for later on. A title like "Some ideas to improve the game" is pretty much useless compared to something like "Increase charging speed and reduce duration of Hornet's Overdrive"
-
We never ban for spamming idea topics, unless it's some completely absurd amount that clearly has malicious intent of making our work more difficult. The better question is — do you really need to post those ideas at all? Or perhaps you can post them in existing topics? Also, if the multiple ideas really do fit into one theme (such as improving the friends system), then you can post them in one topic.

Valid A guide would be nice to have, but it will hardly do anything. A lot of low GS players simply don't care enough to understand how the upgrading system works, forget about more specific things like how to use crystals efficiently. They just open the game and play, sometimes never ever checking their garage. The only way to fix this for sure is to create some sort of automatic upgrading, where the equipment gets upgraded simply from playing.

Boosted armour is what "Double armour" used to be called. It's the supply that increases your armour, which you activate by pressing 2 (by default). Supplies Eagle module is the one that gives you protection against Shaft. Modules
