As a result, those three qualities are much rarer on the forum than they used to be. The proper EN social community really takes place on Skype now, and has been that way for a long time.

I have a sharp intellect balanced by my strength of character and values. Whilst I might sometimes be stubborn, laugh at almost anything or stubbornly laugh at almost anything, I am generally characterised by my likeable nature. Yeah, I already said, referring to the 'in-game economy' when discussing such an issue is a misuse of terms... Not always - it's preferable to have 10 people buy something at 10,000 crystals over 50 people buying something at 1,000 crystals. That's the point I was making - depending on the price elasticity of demand i.e. the responsiveness of demand to a change in price of a particular good (which would actually apply here), it can be beneficial or detrimental to lower prices by certain amounts or beyond certain points. So using the same example, it would make sense to lower the price to 5,000 crystals if it means 30 people will buy the good, but not further to 1,000 crystals. That's the 'equilibrium level' (at which revenue is highest, dependent upon the price elasticity of demand) that I was talking about - and therefore, discounts would probably be beneficial for game income up to a certain point, after which they'd have a detrimental effect. ro study for your BTECs ok

But sure, to explain further: it's down to periods of inactivity - 10 days for Recruit, add 10 days for each rank up to 300 days for Generalissimo. As for your specific question, they can be taken now if the accounts have already been inactive for these periods of time.

By reserved, I mean taken... like, created alt accounts with the usernames, thus 'reserving' them for yourself.

Or just spend like 5 minutes logging into the ones you like every weekend, so you can keep them in case you ever want to consider a username change or levelling up one of them as an alt ^_^ [EDIT] Ooh, but that's a good point... 10 days from now, at least some of the popular ones which just got taken again today will probably be freed up again thanks to that mechanism!

It's not so much a matter of the 'in-game economy' as it is a business decision on Tanki's part. You want to reward players, but not so much that everyone stops buying and so the game loses funding... (EDIT) It seems you made a pretty weak economic point here, lemme quote it and tear it apart: Yeeeaa...no. If there were large discounts very regularly, then the crystal prices of in-game equipment and other Garage stuff would be subsidised quite a lot of the time and so would cost less crystals to get. If they cost less, whilst people might be incentivised into spending more they would need to buy less. It's about balance - discounts can be an incentive to spend crystals (and by extension to buy them), sure, but it's pointless if there are so many discounts that it has the opposite effect. Frequency of buying doesn't matter if everyone's buying very little. It's like a price-demand ('price elasticity of demand', to be specific) scenario... lower prices mean higher sales due to higher demand, but that can actually go the wrong way if you lower prices so much that your profits fall despite selling a lot more. An equilibrium level where sales are good and prices are reasonable is often most desirable for the highest overall profits.

Amateur Writing Club Information | Members List Hello, tankmen and tankwomen! So, what's this club all about? In essence, this club is part of a new idea being started up by the newspaper: an 'amateur' writing section for players to post their work. In this topic, we'll explain all about it, and what this will involve for our community. What is it? For all those topics we publish in this section and if we feel a suitable attitude is demonstrated (see below), we will invite the authors to join the Amateur Writing Club, which will involve working closely with Reporters to write for the community. This will entail becoming an member of this section's official club, communicating with a Reporter via forum PM and/or Skype to receive individual feedback on your work (help, advice, thoughts etc.), as well as the chance to join a structured Skype group with other members. You could showcase your individual talent as part of this dedicated club or work with other members - it's up to you! What does this mean for you? Well, there are numerous possibilities on offer here. These include: How does it work? - Requirements: All you need to do is have a working English ability (it doesn't have to be perfect!), and show an interest in writing with us by posting an article of some sort in this Amateur Writing section. It's that simple! - What happens next? We'll read through your topics, and publicly publish all those which have comprehensible written content and which offer a decent amount of content for people to read. So basically, at least 400 words (recommended - exceptions allowed for short stories, poems and other short writing forms) and understandable English would be enough as the bare minimum! - Joining the club: If you wish to join the Amateur Writer's Club, you must first publish a piece in AWS. It was meant to be a sarcastic joke yeah, not an insult in any way :P I see where you're coming from... but I guess I would argue that, well, friendship is an important part of any relationship. Sure, it's good to be cautious rather than careless, but in an ideal world people would (hopefully) be able to trust their partners as friends.

Along with the rest of your above post, you're basically saying "don't date anyone who you might risk actually knowing". But actually... couldn't it often be a decent idea to like, actually establish fairly close friendships with the people you end up dating, so you get to know them as people and love them for who they are? On second thoughts, I immediately detract that suggestion as crazy and apologise for breaking the social conventions of modern society. I know I know, dates are totally meant to be about shallow-level attractiveness. Actual trust and friendship, pfftt... I don't know what got into me!

It's back! ...wait what, this was held before? Of course, back in Issue 14! And nearly 3 years later, I've decided to hold this again for the nostalgia. However, I recall the entries back then were of a low standard - actual humour is key! Anyway, without further ado (and with much of the original formatting and text for further nostalgia)... here it is! _____________________________ Think you have a good sense of humour? Do you know how to tell a decent joke? Well, this contest is for you! All you have to do is create a Tanki-related bit o' humour! The prizes will be: 1st place: 25,000 crystals 2nd place: 15,000 crystals 3rd place: 10,000 crystals All winning entries will also be featured in the following issue of the newspaper! (small consolation prizes of 5,000 crystals are also on offer for any other noteworthy entries) _____________________________ Rules: - The entries can be anything humorous: extended jokes or simple one-liners, memes, GIFs, photos/pictures of creations and short videos are all permitted as long as they are related to Tanki and are your own work.
