A lot of recent departures from the newspaper team has meant that the group of Reporters who was meant to have completed Issue 43 by now simply hasn't been able to write enough content - whilst we recruit some new Reporters and all work on more articles, we've delayed the issue to ensure it's high quality for our readers. Hopefully we'll get back to publishing an issue every couple weeks after the next one!

Awesome! Really looking forward to the 10x chance of golds falling on the Halloween map, should be fun! But more gameplay-influencing equipment for Premium Users only, this time quite powerful? Hmm...

This is a bit of a false generalisation... We're not robots, we don't all act the same. And following on from that, many of us have our own good and bad opinions/views on the current progress of the game, the way it is managed etc., and agree with you 'kids' on many counts. We're simply doing our jobs to make a positive contribution to this community and to help to make the game/community a better place - it doesn't mean we must think Tanki is perfect, and we don't have to do so to appreciate the hard work of the developers up till now. Oh, and also, Please don't quote mine - the full version of what I said was... ...so really, I couldn't care less that I'm allowed to write articles showering the game with undeserved praise and bias. I wouldn't do so anyway, nor would I do the opposite. Praise where it's due, criticism where it's due. Don't judge all the staff under the same misguided brush. Let's not turn this into 'staff vs players'; because honestly, a lot of us are on your side. Players first, volunteers second. And I personally prefer the term 'volunteers' over staff, because (like many staff) I feel we're not here to abuse our power or to argue with players about how brilliant the game must be, but we're here to help the game and community as much as we can.

The stats of those admins who aren't also devs (i.e. volunteers as opposed to game employees) aren't hidden either... All those Tanki staff who are 'players like us' have their stats available for anyone to look at, Tanki is not trying to hide anything. Don't make an argument if you're uninformed.

Yeah that's the whole point, to show us what we're losing out on by not having a Premium Account and so to tempt us to get one.

@creeperskelly, apply for a Reporter position if you like. And (unlike some of my colleagues here) I'm not joking. You're clearly an aware and talented analytical writer, something which we'd value. By the way, as Reporters we're not absolutely obliged to shower the game with praise. We are, however, working for Tanki's official newspaper - so our articles do at least need to be balanced if they are going to be critical. Does this limit what we can write? Well yes, it does, since we need to keep in mind we're actually representing Tanki so it'd look a bit dubious to readers if we took the opportunity to dish out as much hate towards the game as possible. But is what we can write unduly limited? It's open to opinion, but I don't think it is. I am, for example, considering writing a 'response article' from the other side of the argument to what's been presented here (although I've yet to discuss that idea with Stratus), which would take a more balanced approach. I am not, by the way, putting down Stratus' approach here at all, I've enjoyed considering the points which this intentionally biased article raises. That's the whole point of an 'opinion-based' piece of work, which Stratus has very effectively achieved. Of course, as a Tanki Reporter it's true that you're allowed to write articles showering the game with praise but that you're unable to do the opposite. But the newspaper encourages balanced articles and critical feedback to what we write; and as I'm personally a fan of both of those things (i.e. I wouldn't want to shower the game with praise or dish out hate towards it in the first place), the newspaper has yet to limit my expression.

Not a buyer myself, but this is excellently written. Even with Premium Accounts and even if I don't fully support that latest introduction myself, Tanki really doesn't give all that much of an 'unfair advantage' to its buyers compared to other games, and its perfectly fine for people to buy. It would be hypocritical to criticise buyers for buying since we all spend on things we enjoy, that's just a cover for people being annoyed that they lack the skill to compete with buyers or the intelligence to understand that this game allows them to do so. Agreed with everything you've said here.

I think you just kinda defeated your own argument there. Any competent reader could see that the article is not equal to what you've just said there, otherwise the article would read: Why a 40% Off Sale is Better than 50% Off Shut up and take whatever rubbish Tanki throws at you, or your a whining crybaby. Even if you find the tone derogatory, it cannot be reasonably denied that it contains some constructive points to back up its viewpoints. The fact that this article is clearly so very different to the above makes me worry just how biased or prejudiced a reader has to be so that once 'offended' by a viewpoint or the way in which it is presented, he/she will say anything and everything to put that viewpoint down.

This just shows exactly that you don't understand the meaning of the word 'constructive'. Was this article written in a calm or nice tone? Nope. Was it harsh? It was quite harsh in its tone in some of the points it was making, yes. Does that the fact that it may be taken as mean or insulting by some mean that it merits a barrage of insults and flaming in response? No. Was there constructive content in this article? Yes - and whatever the nature or tone of the feedback given, a good reader would respect that and at least try to fight the harsh, unsympathetic subtance that Stratus provided with well, substance.
