I think the game is better after the rebalance - the old tier1/tier2 hull/weapon system meant we saw too few combinations. For me, gameplay now is more varied, more challenging, more interesting. Each to their own, I guess.
-
Personally I'd start saving for an M2 hull, if I were you. You are at a rank now where you will start to see M2 hulls and turrets appearing from those who have kept a "narrow" garage and not bought everything. Getting a "broad" M1 garage won't help you much when people have gone "narrow" and have M2 Hulls/Turrets, especially if you have mostly short-range weapons.

I suspect this is actually a not-quite-perfect translation, like many others on the site. The English quote is usually "ignorance of the law is no excuse/defence" Shouldn't that be "Violation of Section Rules" or "Rule Violation"?
-
Things are either random, or they are not. If there is a pattern to it, or its biased in some way, then it ain't random.
-
Quite so - my response was an attempt at ironic humour. We were all managing to hit "shift" without our brains melting as we posted.
-
Hitting two keys at the same time? Like using the shift key to do capitals or symbols? That's just crazy talk - it could never work.
-
They could also just make it another key on the keyboard - Esc(ape) for example, or zero.

I have seen many players of higher rank than you using Rico very effectively - in combination with the right paints, hulls and maps. Iran is one map where it seems to be especially effective on most hulls; Canyon is another. I'm sure others could add more. So I disagree with the idea that Rico needs to be boosted just because you are starting to find the game harder. A Major will have about double your experience. Think about what that means - they have spent as much time fighting skilled WO5s like you, as you have getting to WO5. For every Sergeant or WO1 you destroyed, they took out WO5s, Lieutenants, Captains and higher. We don't need to see your scores to know that you rocked at (or against) lower ranks. We all did. It was easy. As I went through the WO ranks it was the same - the unskilled players drop out, and tanks get tougher. I went from winning most of the time easily to having to learn new approaches.

I'd like to see mines with a bigger kick, but visible at a longer range. The deterrent effect of a mine - or slowing attackers down as they edge past it - is part of its strength...
-
As someone else commented on another thread, a Mammoth with double armour and two Isidas in backup makes a pretty fair mine-sweeper. You can sweep the mines much faster than one player can lay them. "Twins off, balance" and "Long ramp on the left" - Moon Silence, perhaps? If you really don't like mines, don't play CTF on maps with "choke points".

Most people above the lowest ranks would consider "newbie" to be an insult, attacking the way in which they have been playing. It would never be seen as a friendly comment unless you knew the person very well. In English, I would also find "lazy" to be an insult too, and a "sleeper" is usually an undercover spy of some sort. Calling someone "Boy" is also very rude if you are male - it comes across as if you are saying you are their boss; some people might get very upset with that too. I would stick to "Hi" if I was you. Less chance of accidently starting a fight.

More powerful weapons doesn't always mean better gameplay or more fun; most people only think about how great it would be if *they* had the M4, while ignoring the fact everyone else would be sporting M4s too : "and when everyone is Super, no one will be..."
-
A lot of players stick to and play the same few maps that they know and like. Endless Polygons and Silences. More maps would be nice, but not sure this would change a lot...

You mean a refund, not a rebalance. Refund => Money back only Rebalance => All hulls, turrets and paints have altered statistics and unlock ranks, so money *has* to be given back. If there was a rebalance I'd look at the new statistics of the weapons, hulls and paints very, very carefully before making a decision. If there was a refund, I'd dump the M1 weapons I don't use and have a nice shiny M2 Railgun to go with my M2 Hornet.
-
You responded to your own post? Really? Choice of what to spend your money on is part of the skill in Tanki, as in real life. The costs of higher upgrades and the ranks they unlock at should be big factors in spending your crystals. Better to learn from your mistakes now, than later.

I don't tend to see twins so often on a mid-sized hull on the more open "mid sized" or larger maps. On these, it seems to be most effective on a light hull (where speed is used to set up devastating ambushes and avoid damage) or heavy hulls (as a battering ram or roadblock) On medium hulls and larger "open" maps Smokey, Railgun, Shaft and Thunder are real threats before you get into range.
-
Fixed that for you :-) - Not much chance against a Shaft at long range.... I'd suggest you upgrade the Hull first as the extra speed and HP will help you get close enough to mid/long-range weapons without getting killed. If they see you coming, they will hit reverse and try and take you out - especially as you rank and the M1 versions of Railgun/Shaft/Thunder appear.
-
I tend to chose a paint that matches the playing style and what you see as the biggest threat. I tend to usually use Corrosion, mainly for protection against Shafts and other Rails, as I prefer a Hornet/Rail combination for game play.
-
If I were you I would check out the new stats for hulls and turrets very carefully before racing to get your old favourite combos. Lot of people seem to have rushed into it and got saddled with choices they regret...
-
I'd rather see a wider variety of weapons, to be honest, than M4-level. You'd need to rejig the game - bring down the ranks at which other weapons unlock, and/or increase ranks for M4 weapons. They would be overpowered relative to M3 hulls, too. Feels a bit like creating a Titanium credit card because too many people have Gold and Platinum...

So, to be clear: - you got into a name-calling battle on Tanki (and Facebook, and you are now worried about the consequences? - despite the fact you got into calling names on Chat and in Facebook you want to be a moderator? - you want to be a moderator and you are posting this in General?
-
It would be pretty rare to find a Major without at least one hull upgrade and defensive paints, even if they are not a buyer. They will also usually know how to use their hull/pain/turret combination to good effect. If you don't know how to get the best out of your combination, I'd steer clear until you do...

Well - I haven't spent a dime on this game since I was WO1 pre-rebalance, and then I spent just $20. Plenty of people playing without spending megabuck - or anything at all - without resorting to lurking below WO5.
-
Well - the whole paragraph has some pretty dodgy grammar : "It is wide spread used because it is affordable and easy to operate" Still - personally I kind of like the "translated from Russian" feel that a lot of the phrases have. The English is a lot better than my Russian, for a start, and it fits the character of the game - I tend to read it mentally as if it had a sting Russian accent, but that's probably just me.
