I would like to apologize to the moderators. I unintentionally included them in the "staff" above. I was referring to the admins that work directly with the developers. There are some really good mods here, that are willing to step up for the members of this community. As for the rest of what I said, I stand by my comments. However I want to clarify that I'm disappointed in the the reduction but no the sale as a whole.

No. It is only my opinion. Actually, I believe we will not be able to do a full transfer and for the reason I mentioned earlier they will not tell us until release day.

Lets not get into the "transfer or not transfer" discussion in this topic too. They already know exactly what they have planned they just can't tell us until unity is released. If they say no to a "transfer" now then players will just stop investing any money in this version. If they say yes they will also have a lot of players stop spending while they just wait for the better version to come out. Either way they will have a much harder time earning money to fund the new version.

You already know why but I'll tell everyone else. They want as many supplies as possible in the game. How do most players fight mindless druggers? By using more supplies themselves. What happens when your supplies run low? If your a drugger you buy more. I would guess that the sale of supplies is their biggest source of income.

This community is this way because of their actions. Players are fed up with the way they chose to conduct themselves. Many of us don't trust their decisions anymore.

Where do you count "hundreds upon hundreds of thousands"? Are playing the same game as the rest of us? LOL Tanki has no where near that many players. LOL Max server load today was only 76,000 + and half of those are multiple accounts. Tanki would like people to believe they have hundreds of thousands of players but the truth is not even close. I don't really care one way or the other, I'm not buying anything this time around. No crystals. :( What I do have issue with is the fact they pretended like everything was some great celebration, like they lead us to believe, based off of past events. All they had to do was say, up front, "Guys we made some mistakes in the past by offering such good deals but we can't afford to do it anymore". It would have prepared people a little. Instead they get everyone excited about the coming arrival of "Tanker's Day" and how great it will be. By telling us it's the biggest day of the year everyone assumed it was going to the biggest event and sale of the year. Unfortunately it was a huge let down for many and this is what sparked the uproar and resentment. In the future, just be honest and don't lead us to believe one thing while doing something else. People hate to feel deceived.

Maybe you should try selling these unique items to those willing to pay. It would help earn some desperately needed money without destroying game balance the way selling power does. These could be something only available for purchase to those who pay for a premium account.

I was just looking some old PM's and found this Look at the date stamp. Here it is just over a year later and they are still using Unity as an excuse to ignore the real issues that plague this game.

Good luck with your studies. You will be missed. You are only saying what many of us have been saying for a long time but coming from someone like you, it will undoubtedly carry more weight. I'm glad you didn't just leave without saying your piece or your goodbyes. I hope, someday we will see you again but for now it's time to focus on the battle field of life.

Very disappointing compared to last year. Clearly Tanki is in financial trouble. They claim they will not spit in the faces of the players that got them to this point. I think it time to get out the face shield. And yet again they hold a contest for FB users only. What about all the people that don't use FB? How are we to enter the contest? All contests should be open to all users. As for crystal discount, it could be 99% off and I still will not buy, not until you start to show that you care about this community. You can say you do but actions speak louder then words. Funny how most of the upvotes are from staff. It most be in their contract to blindly agree to everything.

If I use Linux I use Chrome. If I use Windows I use standalone. My current system is a duel boot system with Linux and Windows and because of my video card I get smoother graphics from Windows, so I use that to play Tanki now. My previous system gave me better graphics performance under Linux so I used that for about 1 year.

You are correct. It's called progression. This game has to progress or die. If we just held on to the past all the time we would still be riding around in carts with stone wheels.

We should look at it from their point of view for a second. If you choose to be a buyer and you have been happily playing, then it is not a waste. You got what you paid for, entertainment. I'm not saying they shouldn't offer a real good incentive to switch to Unity to those that helped them achieve their success. A "thank-you for your loyalty" would be nice and kind of expected, but Tanki has never been very good at saying thank-you. Don't confuse sales etc. with thank-you. They are marketing tricks to get you to spend and everybody uses them. People may claim that sales are for you and they do offer you an opportunity to save but they are also designed with the companies best interests in mind. That's just how marketing and sales of goods and services works.

I do have a question for the development team, if someone can please pass it along. Are you going to have private and/or open alpha and beta testing or are you just going skip the preferred usual route and go straight to release?

Well Firefox uses flash 11.2 and 11.2 doesn't support hardware acceleration so graphics are terrible. Chrome is supported in Linux, I use it. Also they could release Unity TO that uses the Web player and a standalone player and uses the same servers etc. It wouldn't be a third version.

I believe most of the re-balances are about increasing profits for Tanki. When sales of the currently popular equipment start to slow they "re-balance" to make something else more popular therefore increasing sales of that equipment.

Flash TO requires a web browser and the flash player plugin if you are using Windows and Mac. If you are using Linux you need to use Chrome with built in flash. (pepper flash) Untiy TO requires a web browser other then Chrome and the unity web player plugin. The unity web player is available for Windows and Mac for all browsers except Chrome. Google has dropped support for all NPAPI based plugins so unity web player is no longer supported. Kind of a big blow to the developers, they made a desision to use Unity and Google drops support. If you use Linux, Unity TO will not be available to you at all unless Tanki makes a standalone version.

If they allow a "transfer", a "transfer" would be moving your account to Unity TO but deleting it from Flash TO. So I doubt it will be a "transfer". It may be in a form of a one time special offer to encourage players to create an account in Unity TO.

Thank-you for taking time to clarify some of these items. Even though we don't have much respect for each other, I, as do others, appreciate this. Although as mentioned by others this should have been handled better. It is my opinion that if there were better lines of communication between Tanki HQ and the rest of us, including your mods, then this could have been avoided. SO very true, but you forgot the mistrust in Tanki HQ. This mistrust leads to frustration and eventually to just leaving for good. This is my prediction and only my opinion: Unity TO will be a completely separate product. There will be no account transfers. Existing Flash TO players above a certain rank will get some special time limited offer if they want to start playing Unity TO They will continue to focus on the players with the 1 year or less life span. Unfortunately, loyalty means far less then ones ability to pay, and it is no secret that Tanki is only in it for the money. They focus on maximizing profits in the shortest time possible. Some call it shortsighted, but to others this is a normal form of business.

I find it interesting that they discussed "account security" this week. Last weekend I started this topic. Many Problems - 1 solution - for Unity :huh: In it, I talk about and offer a suggestion to combat account theft. The new Unity TO looks like they have put a lot of focus on graphics, the look and feel, and game play, which is great, lets just hope they don't forget to address the underlying issues that many of us complain about. Such as: mults and saboteurs cheaters in general - hackers, raiders, power leveling over powered mindless drugers a better reporting system better tools for the moderators so they can be more efficient and effective account phishing, theft, sharing, and trading a different monetization model. One that doesn't give such a massive advantage to buyers in battle, but still offers them something they want to pay for. Repairing the relationship between the players and the developers - We all know that there really isn't one at the moment. They dictate, we listen and complain, and that's where it ends. *** Let me clarify something. The moderators and developers are not in the same group. The moderators rarely know any more then we do and have lots issues with the developers just like the players. Very few mods have any more contact with the developers then we do. :( Sad really that there is such a huge disconnect between Tanki HQ and their staff and players in the field.
