Actually, I just had to play one battle to realize how good it was. The experiment. Now, same lame noob druggers all over again.. Maybe I will do one mission per day and then off to some other game... until someone decides to apply real balance to battles. <_<

I am not sure because I didn't had much time for Tanki in week end. I had a feeling that on a first level, supplies usage WAS NOT as big as previously, and that battle was somehow more balanced. And slower, due to people waiting for time to pass so that they can drug. Meaning, they are / where used to play only under the influence of supplies. -_- Now, if you remember, there where some amazing battles that used to thrill us all and in which famous skilled players exposed their playing skills. Yep, I am referring to Star ladder battles. What made those battles exciting? The rare use of supplies, as only drops where allowed. Being restricted, it didn't matter that they where +100%, not even for repair kit. No one could missuse those supplies so much so that he could win the battle all by himself. This is the guide guys. This can show us how real fun and most satisfying game can be achieved. Full supplies battles, have also a certain sense of fun, but only when everybody can drug the same and so battle is kinda balanced too. This is the reason why full drugging battles should be accessed like no-supplies battles are. Via the Pro pass, in special pro mode. Normal battles (meaning for non pro players, everyday players and low ranks too) should keep a balance, offering few supplies per player per unit of time. This is the principle. So, in the general idea, this experiment is towards the right direction. How much exactly, is a matter of technicality, where developers can investigate themselves and come with the best solution.

An interesting experiment. I am not sure how much will the current one-sided game balance, but it worth the try. I am not sure if I am counted in the "cry-babies list" since I so often complain against drugging, but rest assured that there is a reason behind this complain, a reason well explained a long time ago. I am somehow pleased to see that Tanki slowly turns towards solutions we (non druggers) have been proposed. Now it remains to see whether this alteration is a real change or just a pretense (meaning no real change will be visible). EDIT: I am sure some players will answer to my comment with the typical "play pro if you don't like drugs" or "why join drugs battles if you don't like supplies" etc.. For this I just remind that most of non druggers are not against supplies but against the excessive use of them, and that in many battles druggers appear in the middle of the battle, which makes really unfair the turn of non druggers leaving in the middle of the battle.

Great! Another boost to drugging! -_- [thumb down] -
Running after our tails, aren't we? :P Why don't you just let go? Forget me, as I have forgotten you and each one goes to each one's road. Universe is big enough so wee never have to see each other again. Hopefully.

Where these two thoughts meet? They meet at the power selling point. Tanki has been selling too much power to buyers so that game has become too much in favor of buyers. Non buyers are hard to enjoy battles. The recent steps towards selling cosmetics (paints) and premium status (hopefully meaning a good profile page in the near future) or even facilities (i.e. special maps for a rent / premium users only - I hope to see this some day) would restore part of the power balance and thus bring back joy for non buyers. I hope this policy is being followed in the future.

Yea, sure, as if they now can't do that... ...

That noob is right, that's why I have stopped spending money after the infamous SCD. :P

Are these the "other features" that come with the update? ( :D ) (not to mention the sudden server update at 11 am)

Keep on trying to explain why it should be better (in theory), while our day-to-day battles are ruined by drugging... (those where July battles, but hey, if you like, I can provide today's pics.. they're everywhere...) But here.. nothing has changed since July (for the better): Smart Cool Down was (and still is) a joke, set deliberately to increase the usage of supplies. But we have been all through these stuff, so no point in repeating them. The company has made a marketing decision and I have made mine too. All well. Just don't try to say that black is white, the truth can't be hide.

You avoid the matter, I do not want supplies being removed and you very well know that, as you have read the drugging topic. What we have defined as drugging is the continues spamming of supplies. If you provide only two options in the form of black / white (like drugging or no supplies at all) then thank you very much, I am not interested in that product.

@ CEDRIC DEBONO Develop a system that separates druggers from non druggers (in standard battles) and let us play as we wish, or you (employees of Alternativa) play that game, together with top buyers/druggers. Never going to pay a penny in this game*, as long as drugging prevails and dominates all normal battles. *let along advertise it

Sounds like an interesting idea and the only thing that stops me from adding a "like" is the thought that top buyers will soon acquire a complete set of all possible protections, making the battles even more one sided. It all comes back to the game balance and economy. Many things would be wonderful if balance-secure mechanisms existed, making the game a place for all wallets, even the empty ones.

Druggers everywhere! (rarely do we see a decent battle nowadays, most of them have one or two selfish buyers that ruin the fun for everybody)

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?

In an alternative Universe, maybe. Not in this one.

Supplies are there for a reason. People who use them all the time beat that reason. So, using them rarely and fairly makes the game better. Using them all the time with no respect to others' capability of having many supplies (especially health kits) is bad for the game. So, yea, stop drugging. Drugging ruins the game. -
Night is nice, Frost is better. But no money, so Night for me it is! :)
-
I remember the 2-3-4 spammers back then and they where MUCH BETTER than today's everybodies that use 1 or 2 at the same time... At least then they where few. But today is the real supplies spam season.

Sorry to say that Cedric Debono but Tanki sucks for quite some time now. One good idea irrelevant to the real issues won't make it better. The real issues are the (lack of) separation of druggers from non-druggers and the monetary setting. As long as you (the owners) keep those sources of imbalance, people will be frustrated and will leave or just stop spending real money to Tanki. I know, out of topic you might say, but you proceed in a number of updates having the ultimate goal to bring new players, keep them and make them pay real money. Well, I tell you, this isn't the way to make people happy. Happy enough so that the WANT to spend money. Cheers

Wellcome to the Club Bill :D I said the same thing after the SCD update and I kept it.. ;)

The cause of that decline is that Tanki has ceased to be fun. Period. All the rest are speculations and technical data that concern the owners of this game, not the players. Players are customers and they don't have to prove anything. They either like the product or not. They either want to spend money, or not. You guess what's the case here....

This is exactly the right concept for this update, at least the part that concerns the paints prices. And that is why the actual cost of the paints is irrelevant to the playability of each player (that is the concept of free to play games). However, since some players had purchased already all the - today - expensive paints, it's kinda unjust for the others. It would be alright to appoint this to new paints, that nobody have so far. But anyway, it's the right concept for starting to sell cosmetics and facilities instead of power.
