True. I hope they find a good (inbetween) solution to get the "one tank lock" back again, while retaining the easier upclose aim. The pre-update Isida lost IMO too easy aim upclose by the sole fixation on the turret. Freeze and Firebird have a huge advantage (unfair?) here.

Mouse controls and changes in auto-aim mechanism
Lord-of-the-Snipers replied to semyonkirov in News Archive
Mouse controls have improved from the previous version. Still I surely will never use them and I really hope that a lot of newbie 's choose the "old" keyboard controls: reliable, quick on target and very precise. With mouse controls you also can 't reach full birdseye view and full horizontal view. At least that was what I experienced. Another disadvantage. Good that mouse control is an option, you don 't even have to turn it off in the settings! Than the Isida update. Great job! Don 't understand the complainers about the updated Isida. I like way the beam "travels" on a hull. More importantly: aiming and keeping Isida 's beam on target became easier, especially upclose. -
Agreed. Aiming became easier, especially upclose.

The handling is ok. (most probably, probably... :D ) The large groundspace the Dictator takes just IMO makes it a "clumsier" hull than the Viking. Well, been made curious enough by your story I tried the Dictator M2 and Viking M2 on Skyscrapers and Madness and it 's true that whilst driving the Dictator when it accidentally hangs partly over an edge it 's easier to bring it back on track. The huge hull "floats" more. Don 't know how to express it otherwise. ( same reason why it 's a Golddigger I guess) When I do the same with the Viking and go partly over the edge it 's like the tracks on one side get more stuck and it takes more time and calm steering to gently get it back on track. Be hasty and you might fall. So while you certainly have a point here it is really not a problem for me in daily battles. I often play in Madness with Viking/Smoky and the tracks in this Map are even more open than Skyscrapers, and I honestly cruise around with ease also when on N2O. No need to fall off: just stay on track and don 't be a sloppy driver that 's all... :P

At M3 it 's a good hull, but "the best" and "the beast": no
-
"outclassed": agreed if you are talking about a vanilla Viking M3. A Viking M4 is right in the middle of the medium M4 hulls with speed and armour. The weight is low which is a disadvantage, but besides that the sufficient turning speed, superb acceleration and the solid feel translate into a very comfy and smooth handling. (test server experience) The Hunter M4 feels different, not that smooth. A bit like a rusty Hornet I guess. :P Probably just have to get used to that: besides that it 's a great hull IMO ánd fast. Probably a better choice with for example Firebird or Hammer. Dictator M4, that shape (not the looks) and speed: nope.

Lol...we 'll see about that! :P

If you keep on playing Tanki Online...encounters with higher-ranked Smoky 's will one day make you grin of that sentence. -_-

Smoky M4 and Prodigi combined with the M4 hulls: Wasp, Hornet, Hunter or Viking

"You guys complain about everything": funny to hear those words coming from you! :P ("worse update ever TO, TOisgoingdownhill etc, etc.....) You are right though that it 's not that overpowered. The effect would be a lot worse with medium hulls. Still a fast Wasp M2 in CTF is a formidable force and what about a Wasp M2 circling his much slower opponent?

Thanks for adding. :)

Great battle with Smoky in a great Map: Kungur! Getting closer and closer to Viking M3. :)

There are IMO two hulls that stand out from the crowd: Wasp and Dictator (both with rear mounted turrets) - Wasp by it 's extraordinary manoeuvrability and topspeed (at quite some expense of armour and stability) - Dictator by it 's shape, especially height (Goldbox, handling of weapons: but it 's shape is also a two-edged sword) The other hulls are pretty similar, the notable differences are simply made by a certain mixture of speed and armour.

Drugs: noob style (read: dirty) Paint: Prodigi Melee fight with: Viking M2/ Smoky M2 Soon: Viking M3!

Good V-Log. Not too much going on at the moment (huge updates) IMO so it 's ofcourse not the most exciting one. (TO is very busy with Unity TO I guess) Liked the news about the mouse controls. IMO it 's the right way to go: Windowed mode with the hull attached, always forward facing camera is cancelled which is good: it would have created a new bunch of players who always had to turn their hulls completely to be able to get a view what was going on behind them. So it would have been way too easy to kill them from behind, especially the slower turning medium and heavy hulls. So full-screen mode it is. Which mode resembles the key controlled one. Do hope for the Tankers that are going to use this new mouse control that it will be a way less twitchy than the old test server version. Best news is the option to completely disable mouse controls in the settings. Good job!

The Hornet has a slightly better acceleration so at a very short distance it will be faster, but soon you should be able to outrun a Hornet with a Wasp. A Wasp M1 has a standard top speed of 10.8, fully MU 'd that can become 11.6 (=fast!) A Hornet M1 has a standard top speed of 10, fully MU 'd that can become only 10.3 Wasps are simply made to outrun Hornets. Perhaps if crystal-wise allowed you could invest some first MU 's in your Wasp M1 power/acceleration and especially in micro-upgrading the top speed: which is ofcourse the Wasp 's sweet spot! Because of the late upgrade to Wasp M2 IMO it is definitely worth it. (and no need to mention, but still: use that top speed! Even at my rank I still meet "stationary" Wasps...sigh...)

Let's discuss increased HP for heavy and medium tanks

The red line says enough about you I guess... (and besides Tanki actually did do a good thing in that regard with the new increased battle fund for lower ranks) -

You are right. The only way to get good scores with light hulls is when using DP 's. Being a light hull Tanker myself who doesn 't only pick other light hull players as the obvious easy victims and just attack everything that 's in range I know all too well that taking down those heavy hulls takes a lot of time: especially when playing without DP 's. I never bought supplies before, but I did buy Double Powers on the New Years discount. DP 's for 25 crystals are totally worth it: I can easily earn more crystals than I have spend on those DP 's. Ofcourse now I 'm getting accused of being a drugger, noob, even hacker etc. I really couldn 't care less. When playing light hulls (90% of the time, because they are the most fun to play with IMO) I am very vulnerable when I do get hit by enemy fire and I simply refuse to spend crystals on health packs. Not worth the huge amount (150 or at least 75 crystals at once...) and I personally don 't like this supply. Wish these med kits weren 't in the game at all: maybe only as dropped supply. Totally unbalances a fair duel, and even than when fighting a heavier hull than yourself, and the opponent has equal skills: you will still loose. Flagcapers should be more vulnerable too, would make the game a lot more interesting in my view. Ofcourse DP 's unbalance the game too, so my reasoning in this matter is questionable: but when I 'm in a regular Tanki battle where medium and heavy hulls also use supplies and where Double Armours (a Mammoth M4 on DA is now 900 HP...) and health packs really give them a lot more advantage: DP is the recipe. -
True story, it says something about the power of this M2 turret. The damage itself isn 't that impressive: the fire rate though is and also the impact force is huge. And besides normal working Smoky guns get criticals, yours too I guess?

Maybe the Devs are micro-upgrading the servers? Hopefully they won 't be too frugal on speed ups...
