Though a double-powered Thunder in regular battles can be a lot more crystal-rewarding, and it would probably be smarter not to use Hornet/Thunder with Hammers, Smoky 's and Firebirds lurking around....great fun these Pro Battles! :)

^ inlijsten! :)

Pro Battle Kolhoz DM: first one right from the start, the second one entered half way. Hornet M3/Thunder M3 Prodigi. btw. when did Firebird become a long-range weapon??? ;)

Nice wrenching out of context quote, well done! <_< You are talking about a one versus one. I was talking about regular battles. The kind of battles the vast majority of Tankers is playing in... In most regular battles you will find a mixture of weapons being used against you. The very first sentence after the quote you took out of my post. Or are you so lucky to constantly find enemy teams from which every opponent uses the same weapon? Even in your one versus one situation, a duel, I would ask my opponent to both wear green paint: everyone has it in the garage, there are never hidden micro-upgrades possible and the fight will paint-wise be totally equal. If the opponent doesn 't want to switch to green and wants to keep his 50% protection, well I guess he will be "victorious" because I would simply leave. Ofcourse you will have regular battles with for example a lot of Ricochets where a paint like Spark will do a good job against them. Besides that great max. 50% Ricochet protection, Spark has a max. of 15% against Twins which is pretty useless in practice and it has a max. of 23% against Firebird. 23% is not too bad, but in many cases even than you won 't survive an encounter with a Firebird... And the rest of all the other eight Tanki weapons? Zero protection: nothing, nada, zero. I rest my case.

Nope, I didn 't. But that wall of text had to stop somewhere. But ok, just for you I 'll finish it. ;) I 'm even fighting with that heavy M3 cannon... The Thunder M3 is a really good choice if you micro-upgrade the damage and if possible the reload. Still I believe that the Smoky M3 will proof in general to be the better weapon. (in the case of comparing both weapons when mounted on light hulls) In a one versus one in the open with equal skilled players the Thunder M3 will most likely loose, because the faster reload of the Smoky M3 combined with the impacting off-aiming shots, will make it hard for the Thunder to hit the Smoky with it 's own heavier shots. Out of experience I know how frustrating this can be :( and the best thing for a Thunder player is to take the Smoky 's hit and than immediately return fire. The Smoky will always hit more often, but at least you will hit him also and without a crit you have at least a chance. Already the Smoky M2 is capable of doing this, so is also very dangerous in the hands of an experienced player. Still a Thunder M3 in a regular battle can do a lot of damage, especially with DP 's. (DP drugger: yep guilty) And the Splash is also a great benefit and can often save you from being shot yourself. A good way to take revenge on that Smoky... The impact force is not as good as the one the Smoky has, but is often also helpful to off-aim the opponent. The damage over distance is amazing and you can IMO treat the Thunder like a fast reloading Railgun in that matter. Both are great weapons and it 's certainly not always the Smoky that will be victorious. It really depends on the situation, Map, gamemode etc. which one will be the best choice. So the best thing to do, if possible, is to one day have both in your garage I guess...

Though I understand the main concerns about paints, I always believed and still do it 's not an important issue when choosing a weapon. There are hardly situations where there is no mixture of different kinds of weapons and there will always be some you haven 't got any protection against. True or not? The solution is IMO simple: deal with it! You can much better invest crystals in micro-upgrading your hull, especially in HP/protection than spending way too many crystals in many different paints against a wide scale of weapons. And that scale recently just got bigger... It 's better to have only one good paint, that gives a decent protection against one or two weapons you fear the most, than four or five different paints where you always have to make an often impossible choice. Better spend the crystals you save with choosing one, maybe two paints and than start with micro-upgrading your favourite paint and the rest on micro-upgrading your main combo! Depending with which M-combo (M1, M2 or M3) you are playing ofcourse. I have one account at Third LT with M1 Wasp/M2 Isida and the only paint I have and use is Corrosion. Fully micro-upgraded and it often helps my Wasp surviving. Now I meet for example the new Hammers. Often only one shot and poefff I 'm gone. Get a Hammer paint!...well, nope because that Hammer often has two more shots left and I still will be KIA: so why care? Even if I would get that Hammer paint I would loose protection against those other weapons... The introduction of the Hammer and the Vulcan is actually good for a weapon like Thunder. It means more Tankers will choose another paint to fight with and that translates in even less Thunder-paints on the battlefield. The more weapons, the harder it is to get the perfect paint against them: again a reason IMO not to worry too much about paints. If someone likes the Smoky and/or Thunder: paints against them should not be the reason to not get one of these great and also complementary weapons. Coming back on these ^two weapons in my opinion the best and most profitable way to go is first the Smoky M0 which means having a hard time as a beginner but learning a lot as well. Than...the relief...get the Smoky M1! The best value for money and best skill-teacher IMO in a whole Tanki carreer. Next get the Thunder M1 and plz. learn how to use splash-damage: OP guaranteed! If you like the Thunder M1 progress to the Thunder M2. A nice improvement of the M1. And than...after a long while: return to the Smoky. One of the best, if not the best, M2 's you can get. An M2 that can compete against M3 's. The recently slightly reduced impact force is still strong enough to make your opponents hull move and their shot miss you. No paint can beat that! :)

Just dropped by in this great Map, just in time for the massacre. A lot of static players...big armour...against a tiny Hornet/Thunder... :)

The speed and relative sturdiness of the Hornet M3 combined with the raw power of a splashing Thunder M3 (on DP)...wow! Very first battle with my main account after a long training break on my alts :) Second one: about picking the right team...

Yes, a MU 'd Smoky M1 can in theory take you to Colonel...if you have become very skilled with it. But personally no way I would have done that with earlier accounts I played with! If you really want to suffer, you could even rank with Hunter M0/Smoky M0 to Generallisimo... No, in reality it 's a much better choice to go with the very powerful Thunder M1 at WO4. Btw. calling the Thunder M1 "a waste" is one of the most dopey remarks I ever read on this forum. :D Well, every piece equipment is "a waste" if you haven 't got a clue how to use it I guess... -_-

Hornet "the Wallslammer". Yep, IF you can 't control it, it is a wall slammer. Quite funny how Tankers who hardly play Hornet, even dislike it, seem to know very thoroughly that it handles bad. Long time ago I smashed into walls with Hornet even with nitro. Not necessary and easily avoidable IF you can handle the Hornet. My advice: take a Mammoth, good chance you will avoid slamming into walls...

Plz. make an option in the setting to enable and especially completely disable mousecontrols! Just had to leave a good Polygon battle, that I was already playing for ten minutes: I entered my garage to switch from hull, but when I returned I had lost control over my other hull completely. Never happened before. This was in a normal gameplay, AFAIK I didn 't enter the server where you can test the mouse controls. Even if I accindentally did, I shouldn 't have lost my keyboard controls this way. Tried several things but the hull didn 't respond properly anymore to the keyboard controls. Will not go to the garage again during a battle as long as this update is tested: that 's for sure.

The new paints besides Savanna and Sandstone that are required on the Hornet M2, and can be used on a Wasp M2.

If you don 't miss to many shots in general: the Smoky M1 is hot! Go for it, it 's much better than the Smoky M0! If you achieve good skills, you can easily go beyond Thunder M1 with it. Certainly with some micro-upgrades. In this case it could be worthwhile, because the Smoky M2 unlocks late. If around Thunder M1/Warrant Officer 4 you want something different, than the experience you have from the Smoky M1 will almost guarantee an easy transfer to the Thunder M1. Learn to rock/tip with the Smoky! Personally I think this is a better path than Thunder M0 to Thunder M1. You only got to learn the "secrets" of Thunders Splash damage at M1. Thunder M1 is awesome! OP at those ranks IMO. Smoky M1 is IMO the most value for few crystals turret in the game. :)

That makes (at least) two! ;)

Tried both modes: windowed and full screen: Normally with keyboard I always play full screen, so I took off with this mode. Mouse sensitivity is definitely needed here! It took just a few minutes of playing to get a slight nausea... The image/screen becomes much to "shaky". The only benefit in comparison to normal keyboard controls could be for some players the superfast spectator like cameraview you get with the mouse. I rather stick to the more gradually zooming of the keyboardcontrolled camera. # Than I tried the windowed mode. This one will become more popular I guess. Especially beginners in Tanki Online will benefit from the "aiming circle". Where you point at, you shoot at: horizontally that is... Beginners only have to learn the rocking/tipping "trick" and they can quickly become pretty good shooters...all able to turn their turrets for a change... ;) There is a catch! The camera only works in one direction. In which I mean from the front of your hull forwards and around 90 degrees to both sides. If you turn your turret further the camera doesn 't follow anymore. So you need to turn the complete hull to see what 's beyond you. That is often totally wasted time in a combat situation. With the standard keyboard controlled camera you can turn the camera and view completely and independent from your hull. So the rear of the hull than becomes your front and you have to switch the direction you want to drive to in your head: that 's not easy at all for a beginner, but crucial for advanced gameplay! "Conclusion": the windowed mode controls seems the most promising IMO, but there better be something implemented that makes, when the "aiming circle" passes -90 degrees to the left and + 90 degrees to the right, the camera view shift from the front of the Hull, to the rear of the hull. If it stays like this and beginners only learn to drive their hull into one direction they will never obtain the same skills as "old" keyboard users and for future battles to come it would be nice to face good competition and no easy kill "one-way drivers".

I 'm leaving the block of Vurkac_36 out of this post, because I don 't know enough about this case. That video of a clearly hacking tiger3331 is another story. It doesn 't happen once, but three times, at least in this video and I can imagine that he took more than three flags in this game with this obvious hack. Now we get a response from @Yele it could be lag. Ok, let 's for one moment assume it was lag...than Tanki Online allows a player to abuse lag to win a game. And I thought that Tanki Online was about fairplay: right? Let 's put ourselves into the Tank of tiger3331 in the game shown in the video: Here I go to the flag for the first time. Everybody is shooting at me, but no damage done??? Strange, but ok let 's take the flag and see what happens. Hé, I can take it no problem! Back to base and capture it! Ok, that went easy! Let 's do it a second time. Again I 'm being shot at, and again no damage. And now these guys are accusing me of hacking in the chat. (maybe tiger3331 can 't read, we don 't know that.....) I tiger3331 am just playing and capping, that 's all...let 's go for another capture! In my view it is easy: if this was lag (and it wasn 't) than the player tiger3331 abused that lag to win the game. If it happened once you could say it was coincedence, but he captured at least three times. That also should be enough for a ban block. edit: ban changed to block
