    Parkour Dictionary

Yeah I expected it to not be obvious enough, will have to find a way to fix this :\ For now you have to click the title to watch the video of that trick (as written on the very top of the topic) EDIT: solved the problem :) added "[ video ]" next to each title for the link to be more visible
  2. The biggest problem with your method of implementing this system is that players can agree on teams without using this feature and there is no way to detect players doing it. It is not beneficial for anyone to use such a feature to make the team "official" in this battle and become weaker. Teaming in DMs is something many players consider as a "noob" and unfair thing, and it kinda ruins the "every man for himself" aspect of this mode. So if DMs alone are not popular, this mode will be much less popular. Players will many times be left with no team, which will make more of them go back to normal DMs. Players who really like playing like this can (and do, btw) arrange this kinda battles with their friends without having a special mode for it. If you want a game mode of small teams, it's better to have a game mode like TDM with more than 2 but smaller teams. That way there's no unfairness for players with no team, and the teams will be clearly defined and will be simple and convenient to join a team. But I don't expect this to get added into the game either, at least not without players having something to fight for, that it makes sense to compete several teams for it. But maybe it is good enough as a TDM too, idk... only depends on the devs and community management team now I guess... I would say it's worth experimenting with.

Another thing I forgot to mention, in parkour mode if you have some micro upgraded hull, it's weight remains as if it wasn't MUed at all. ^_^

Masters of Parkour 2016 Winners Announced!

I say we need an OMP only contest :D We gotta show them what OMP masters look like! Though I think the winner's OMP is pretty good, at least compared to mine, I haven't done any OMP since more than a year ago pretty much so my videos are the old stuff now :P when I watch them it's like a quick history of OMP development : D

Masters of Parkour 2016 Winners Announced!

I agree about TFP's videos here. If you show a player jumping on a mine, then getting shot by two rails, how is saying "Hit a mine, get shot by two rails and with some luck you will land on the roof" helpful in any way? You don't provide any new information, so your "guides" are just commentated conquering videos. You never truly explain the trick, never heard you saying what is important to know to get the trick right, you always say you need luck. It's true that luck helps in parkour, but there are more important and helpful things you could say to really guide your viewers.

    Feedback for video makers

Feedback on videos - Help making the next videos better! I'm sure the video makers of our community would love to know what do you want parkour videos to be like. It will help them to know what they can improve in their videos, and will help everyone else to enjoy better videos from them! Here are a few things you can give feedback about: What types of videos do you prefer, and why? Some video types for example: Conquering videos (conquering one map in each video) Random parkour videos OMP montages Commentated conquering videos (like what TFP make) Do you like commentating or is music alone better? What types of videos should be commentated, if any? How do you like the editing? Do you like the parkour videos when they look like fast action clips, or like montages with more slow motion? What kind of music do you prefer in parkour videos? What is important for you to see in parkour videos? Do you look more at the skill and difficulty of tricks, or at their originality and variety of tricks, or simply want them to look cool and have big jumps? By what other criteria do you judge parkour videos? Any feedback can be helpful, whether it is about one of the things listed above or not. You can be very general, or more specific and direct your feedback to one or very few video makers. Make sure your feedback is clear and explains exactly what is the problem and maybe how to solve it, don't just say that something is bad without explaining. Share your opinions and help our community's video makers improve their next videos!

    Parkour Dictionary

New version - new design! I designed nice headers for the topic, and a nicer title ^_^ Added the following tricks: Front Lift, Back Lift, Rocking, Steps Added an explanation of what are fundamental tricks, extended / modified tricks, and complex tricks. it's in the very bottom of the topic under the "terms" category.

ty! :D The rico ideas were both from me and darrex :)
  10. Nice article! I love how you wrote how common each trick is in OMP, that's a great idea for me to improve the Parkour Dictionary :D Thank you! I would change a lot of things in your guide, but oh boy I wish I had your writing skills!

    [TFP] The Flying Parkourists

You missed that comment where we said we have more ways but don't have time to record everything now because of MOP, and as you probably can understand, we also have other projects now and don't want to upload two skyscrapers videos so fast. Just don't say we're not capable of something just because we haven't done it yet.

    Ideas for Parkour!

The no damage thing was suggested so many times, so let me say again: Some tricks require getting tanks killed, and if you can't deal damage that means jumping on infinite amount of mines which will make it not challenging to jump on any high place, even getting on a skyscraper won't be a special thing anymore. The idea of not counting the kills and deaths as part of the score in the player profile is great, it solves the problem without changing anything but only removing something that shouldn't be taken into the score count anyway, and will prevent players from joining parkour battles to improve their score. About increasing impact force and reducing weight - I'm against making parkour format physics any different from the normal game physics in any way, parkour is possible and you can do a lot of great things and huge jumps without a decrease in weight and increase in impact force or change in any other parameters. It is better to keep parkour challenging so you have some learning and reaching new heights along your journey of mastering parkour. Trust me, the most fun thing about parkour is discovering and improving, if I was able to do everything easily I wouldn't enjoy it as much, it was fun to me even as a newbie that way. Also, there is a thing with weight decrease already. Before micro upgrades were changed and it was possible to upgrade every parameter separately - I had a special parkour Wasp with everything fully upgraded except for weight, so it was like an M2 Wasp with weight of M1. Now everything is upgraded together, but in parkour mode the weight gets reduced to the weight of a not upgraded version of your tank. So my fully upgraded Wasp M1 is still an M2 with weight of M1. That's one way you can get a decrease in weight.

    Newspaper Requests!

Tanki's turrets are sometimes existing weapons and sometimes more science fiction weapons - but they all have their story and scientific explanations. The description of turrets in the garage was once explaining the scientific idea behind each one of these science fiction turrets. They changed it, sadly, but I remember what they said about a few of the turrets. For example, the idea of Isida is sending nano robots through electric current to disassemble the enemy and bring back materials to repair yourself. Sounds very much like science fiction, right? Here's another one, Railgun: This one doesn't use gunpowder to shoot it's projectiles, and no it's not a powerful laser. Railgun uses magnetic rails to accelerate it's projectiles. It's like using the power of a few tens of lightning bolts just to send one little projectile to fly. Sometimes fiction turns into science, and just recently (a few weeks ago) in Russia, they announced they created Railgun. Railgun is a real life thing now!! It doesn't look like the Railgun in the game, and it's not mobile yet since it's batteries weight a few tons, but Railgun's scientific idea was implemented in real life! And it's real life name is Railgun too btw. Here's a video of it with some explanation (in Russian) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KpFaSLrYRw Could be fun if you made an article talking about all turrets' scientific concepts and announced about Railgun becoming reality :) But they think of using it more for launching things into space and defending from meteors than as a weapon, since it's not mobile.

    Parkour Dictionary

Update! Plans changed. Not gonna do the grouping thing, looks better when they are just listed separately with the extension of the trick right under. The grouping in the videos is still a part of the plan. Updated all the text - wrote better descriptions and added a list of good uses for each trick. Added two tricks to the list: Rico Jump and Border Jump. Moved the following tricks to the archive: Shaft Jump, Leap, Vulcan parkour in test server, Climbing cliffs with Ricochet The last two weren't in the list before because climbing cliffs with rico wasn't possible when I started the Parkour Dictionary, and the other one was only in test server. But now that we have the archive, there is a place for them in this topic. Also replaced the old elevator video with a new video showing both Twins and Ricochet elevators. What's left to do now is check for tricks I might have missed, come up with names for two tricks I haven't added yet but I will add soon, and of course make new high quality videos with commentary.

    Find a parkour team!

Well... I always see a lot of people asking to join clubs, especially in F&F and TFP, and in topics that aren't even parkour clubs... And this topic isn't only about parkour clubs, it can be any team, they don't have to create a parkour club topic, they can just meet a few parkourists and add them to friends... It's about finding players to parkour with them, and there are tons of groups of friends that do parkour in the game without sharing it or recording videos, just for fun.

    Find a parkour team!

Do you want someone to notice you and invite you to his parkour team? Are you looking for players to invite to your parkour team? This topic was created to help you! If you are looking for a team, reply here with important information about yourself. For example: Your parkour experience - how long have you been doing parkour, what kind of parkour are you good at, what's your favorite? Any examples of you doing parkour - if you have good videos or screenshots of you doing parkour, to let everyone see examples what you can do. Why do you want to join a parkour team, what would you want to do with your team? How much time are you willing to dedicate to parkour? What is your time zone and active days / hours? What kind of a team are you looking for? What does a team need to have in order to make you want to join it? How can you be helpful for the team? Only parkour, or maybe record videos (normal view, fake spec, real spectator?) or edit videos? Any other useful skills you have that a parkour team might want? A link to your profile so people can see your equipment and supplies. How to contact you? (Skype, forum PM, any other way?) Any other relevant information you can think about. Make sure you provide all the important information to help parkour teams decide if you are a good fit for them! Maybe you can even find enough players that you would want to start a new parkour team with them, you don't have to join an existing team, sometimes it's better to start a team of your own, especially if you can't find another team that you can and will be happy to join. I hope everyone will find a good team, and good luck to everyone who decides to start their own team! ^_^ Useful links List of Parkour Clubs - you can find there all the basic information about the active parkour clubs, including whether applications are open or closed, and the rank requirement to join the club. Masters of Parkour 2016 - find a team!

ok the contest is over, time to close this topic. This topic was intended to help people find a team for the MOP contest, but you just inspired me to create a topic for people who are looking for a team of parkourists not just for the contest. ^_^ I hope it will help players to find teams or even create new teams and meet other parkourists.

    Ideas for Parkour!

Glad to hear not only my team has problems with this sky kill zone... That means others try big stuff too. I suggested it in this topic a while ago and also sent it in complaint book topic and to tanki tech support and both Cedric Debono and tanki tech support said they passed it to the developers, but nothing happened even though it was a great chance to do it in time for MOP... I just failed a huge jump for MOP because of this dam kill zone :\ And I can remember at least 10 more cases where the sky killzone ruined my tricks in the last 2 months... It's just terrible...

    Ideas for Parkour!

Auto aiming on team mates will make some tricks impossible, like Thunder Jump where thunders have to shoot under the tank to make the splash hit the tank instead of the direct shot, and the Rico jump where ricos shoot a cliff under a team mate and their shots bounce up onto him and make him fly... The problem you are talking about is lack of skill. It's not worth making some awesome tricks impossible just to make parkour easier for beginners.
