There is no point in writing a huge article about this, as others have already and I don't think the matter is important enough. On the other side, it was very entertaining to me, whether it was 100% true or not. I feel that because I've read this in a light manner and don't feel very strongly about the topic it was fun to read. I had over 30k and bought Isida M2 during the sale, then scavenged enough crystals to buy the Jaguar paint, so it was not wasted on me (in retrospect, I could have bought these things earlier without wasting extra time to earn crystals if the sale was 50%, but I still don't mind much). Thanks for answering. I am hoping that Halloween may be 31% as some people think, but Tanki may pick anything. I doubt they would go higher than that for Halloween. Also, I may be sleeping, etc. when the sale appears... Is it only on for one hour? Thanks again. Unless Halloween is a good sale, and I am awake, then maybe I will just wait for Christmas. Do you think it is worth spending money on the 100% multiplier? It costs a heap, and the 50% is cheaper. Also, do the multipliers stack if you buy more than one? If so, then I may buy the first two. One last thing, Isida is my only M2 at the moment. Firebird M1 is probably my best turret for deathmatch mode, but Isida can still do okay, plus it heals itself. Hello, again. Could people tell me what they think? If I get the chance, I am going to buy Hornet M2 during the Halloween sale. I have it as 15% off, so right now it costs 59 995 crystals. If the Halloween sale is 25% off turrets then I will pay about 45k for Hornet. At the moment, I have 96k and am soon to have 100k (roughly, I hope). If I buy Hornet then I will be spared with 55k afterwards. When I reach Major (two ranks ahead of me) I am aiming to buy Firebird M2. I have approximately 92 000 more exp. to earn to get me there. If by some random chance I am a Major before the Christmas/New Year's Sales then I will buy Firebird. I have 5% off Firebird, so it costs just under 90 000 crystals. A 40% discount at Christmas will lower the price to 54k, leaving me with 1000 crystals if I only have 100k to begin with. Does everyone think this is a good plan? I have made the sales the lowest they are expected to be, so they may be more, meaning I will save more. Also, if I miss Halloween then I will probably just wait for Christmas; cheaper again. I don't know what is reasonable with exp. so could people tell me whether they think I will be Major before Christmas? That's my basic plan. Thanks for reading, and to all responses, Bluebird13.

N o worries, glad it wasn't a complete waste of time writing. I didn't realise you had Thunder, so Ricochet isn't really needed, even if it is a good turret. In certain maps where Rico's range is nowhere near enough then railgun would excel, I guess, so your choice does make sense. You need quite a bit of money, but soon you should have enough for most of what you want. Bluebird13.

On those small maps, Viking's speed is enough to travel any distances quickly; especially at M3. Hornet can make quick escapes, but those opportunities don't come as often as the head-on ones with your enemy firing. Health is probably more needed. However if you don't want to wait extra ranks, then buy Hornet. Hornet is my favourite hull and can be used on other maps too, obviously. If you get Hornet, then you could always aim for Viking second. Hope this helps, Bluebird13.

I haven't played format battles before, but I think that xp is hornet/railgun, bp is wasp/railgun and op is very very good; excellent... Correct me if I am wrong. PS Unless you are buying items because of their price then I think that railgun isn't as good a deal as ricochet. I have slightly mu'ed my m1 hornet, yet I can survive a non-upgraded m2 railgun. When I get m2 Hornet, I will only have more armour. Yet with ricochet, you need to deal dozens of quick blows to your enemies. With m2, ricochet is very powerful and can be unbeatable if used properly with supplies. Another point to ricochet is that in tightly packed maps you can aim badly and miss the enemy only for it to bounce back and kill it. There are good points to rail however (using double damage it will kill hornets in one shot), but I cannot be bothered typing them all. Pages like "Lets Discuss Railgun/Turrets" will hold plenty of that info. Hope you can decide, Bluebird13.

That's good to know then, because after I buy Hornet m2 during a sale I am saving up for Firebird. I am two ranks below at the moment (for fire), but I think it won't be too hard to rank up. I have 85k, so without a sale Hornet is 60k. This will leave me with 55ish thousand crystals if it is a 50% sale. Firebird is near 90k for me, so I won't be able to get it unless I earn another heap of crystals or if there is a sale. I doubt I will rank two times before Christmas... No worries. Smokey m2 is great at my rank (higher ranks use it). M3 would only be better. It works well at all ranges, really, so it is a good choice. The reason I didn't mention Smokey is because you have Thunder and Ricochet; Ricochet is really effective at your rank (I think) and is similar to Smokey except for the range difference and critical hits, etc. However, in the Starladder, etc. people pretty much only use Railgun and Smokey (including clan wars). It is up to you; you know more than me, as I have said and if you want another mid-range then go for it; Smokey is a good turret. Thanks for listening, Bluebird13. Of course, I am nowhere near your rank, but I would recommend saving for Firebird M3. Since you only have Isida for short range, Firebird would be a great second, as its high cumulative damage is really cool, 'specially with the burn effect. Maybe pick a medium hull. I'd go for Viking, or Dictator for the gold boxes/more health. I dunno what sort of turrets you verse the most, so I cannot really answer paints, but obviously you would go for one of the top four paints; Lumberjack, Zeus, Clay and Africa. You would be able to tell me that you do not need Twins protection and possibly not Railgun or Freeze, either. Again, I am not really the best person to take advice from as I have never been up at your rank, but some of the things I have said are just plain logic. Bluebird13.

Gold Boxes drop rarely. They do not destroy every game, as they don't spawn that often. If you are worried about ethics and morality then we should rule out the killing part of this game. Teaming up to destroy other people (tanks) isn't really ethical behaviour. I see that they do cause chaos in games, but if you use it to your advantage then you can get that last flag capture without many people obstructing you. Or if you are winning, then an extra 1000 crystals will do you good. There is no harm in spending 30 seconds of a game trying to catch a box. That is 1/30th of the time in a 15 minute battle, and if you continue doing the math you can tell that (especially if the games are longer times) you still have another 29/30ths to cap flags or make kills. Plenty of time for sane players to work as a team.

Okay, makes sense, I had thought that Freeze was weaker, but If you use it right then it does have potential (with its freeze effect). That was why it was tempting. I don't really need it, though. My only concern is that I have no long range equipment and heavy/medium hulls (except m1 Viking). Do you think that this is enough until m3s? I hope that some m3s come out in kits before their rank release, and that I have the money, as I don't buy with real money. On the other hand, I am an all-out short-range fan, so I'm sure I can survive... Thank you for your help, Bluebird13.

I have one more question. My plan is to buy m2 Hornet during a sale, and possibly m2 freeze if I am tempted, as m2 Firebird is two ranks away for me (I am saving for Firebird when it becomes available to me). I have about 80k, and without a sale Hornet is 60k. If a cool kit is available during the sales and I have enough money for it, should I desert my plans and spend? It may all depend on the content of the kit, but could people still tell me what they think? By the way, I have m1 firebird that is micro-upgraded in certain aspects and m2 Isida. I'd say Viking is better; more hp and is more stable, etc. However, if you are on a larger map like Kungur, Highways or Dusseldorf then Hornet would be best choice. Hornet is obviously faster, so you can reach targets quicker, and is smaller, which makes it a harder target to hit. Everything depends on the map. Viking is probably a better choice because it isn't extremely slow, and you have picked a ranged weapon so speed doesn't matter as much. Personally, I like speed, so I would pick Hornet. Bluebird13.

If the m1 turrets or hulls are available at your rank, then yes. Same goes for m2s when you are higher in rank.

At the moment, I have 75k, as I have been saving. I want m2 Hornet, which is nearly 60k for me, and later I want to save for m2 Firebird (at the moment I am First Lieutenant). Any other m2 hulls/turrets that pop up at a nice price will tempt me; my only m2 is Isida. Could people please recommend to me what they think I should be buying or saving for, and whether I should spend during Christmas sales or possibly Halloween (if there is a Halloween sale, apparently there is). I would pick m2 Thunder personally. That is my preference,and Contradiction has already summed things up. However, another option that I don't think anyone has recommended is kits. You could buy a cheaper kit or an 180 000 crystal one, if you want to save more, etc. Often, they have weapons you normally couldn't get, e.g. m2 Twins, which would be excellent at your rank.
