M1 Shaft is unlocked at Sergeant Major, which you haven't reached yet.

Savanna is pretty good camouflage. If you read the old "The Perfect Camo?" newspaper article, you can see that it blends in very well with shrubbery.

M2 Rail isn't as good of a deal as M1 Railgun, so I'm probably going to skip it.

I personally think they're moving in an alright direction. Maybe not the best way possible, but I can deal with it.

Buyers already get a lot of good stuff; you can afford great kits and can get top of the line equipment for your rank. The issue is that the gap was too wide beforehand; if the gap gets too wide, non-buyers will start to get fed up and leave. I was close to leaving at several points just because of druggers.

If you don't do that well without using supplies, then you might want to consider reviewing whether or not your success is from your skill or supplies.

You already have a close range weapon, so I'd recommend getting something in the long/medium range deparment. You can get Freeze later if you have the crystals, but you need to build a balanced arsenal early on. Viking-Shaft is a good combo from what I've seen. Don't upgrade it though; save up so you can buy M1 Shaft when you rank to Sergeant-Major and M1 Viking when you rank to Warrant Officer 1. If you're willing to wait until Warrant Officer 4 to buy a medium hull, M1 Hunter is essentially superior to M1 Viking. Another tip: buy on sales only if you can. You will save a lot of crystals in the long run.

Isida-Viking scares me a lot for some reason.

M1 Smoky is great in the right hands. It requires different tactics from others; if you're charging forward with a light hull and expecting to get kills, you're not really going to get them. If you're using a light hull, flank and circle strafe when possible. If you're using a medium hull, just flank. If you're using a heavy hull, you can charge forward, but it's still useful to flank if you can.

I like M3 Hunter a lot in terms of appearance. It's tied with Dictator right now. M3 Mammoth is really ugly. The other M3s all look decent at least, but not Mammoth.

I'm definitely getting it M3. As a Dictator fan, I'm willing to wait until Generalissimo to get it.

Rico deals slightly less damage per shot, but it shoots a lot quicker.

At your rank, I would only recommend Lead, Dragon, or Safari as decent choices. Any protection less than 15% won't be very useful. I make an exception for Forester, since it gives you great camouflage in maps with lots of bushes. Dragon and Lead give you decent camouflage against grassy backgrounds.

I wonder why most people commenting on this thread are Generalissimos or very high ranks.

Stuff I like about the update: -No more mindless 234 drugging. I hate the people that 234 without even pausing to think. I'm assuming that many of you drug war players know what you're doing (and have tactics for drugging), so no offense intended if you're one of those people. -Drop boxes are more important. A lot of drop boxes were simply skipped by players before, but now people actively seek them out. It's more rewarding to get a full set of 3 drugs now. -The timer showing the amount of time left in your supplies is really, really useful. Stuff I don't like about the update: -I don't see the need for the new icons. The old ones were fine as-is, and it's going to be a while before I get used to them. I do appreciate the devs making the icons easier to understand for newbies, but I haven't seen any complaints about them. -The new textures for the crystal drop boxes are really ugly. They're also easier to look over, since they don't have that iridescent blue sheen the old ones did. I haven't seen a gold box yet, so no comment on that. Stuff I'm indifferent to about the update: -The supply counters have been moved to the center of the screen. I'm not noticing that much of a change in user friendliness. Maybe it helps for other people. My suggestions: -Remove the new icons or at least tweak them to be more familiar for experienced players. -Revert the textures for the crystal boxes.

Yeah, it has the reload speed of M0 Smoky. Congrats on ranking!

MUs will solve that problem. I find that Hunter more than makes up for it with the versatility and speed.

I'm assuming that you've been using Viking for a while; you probably got used to Viking's lower turning speed. For all of us light hull users, Hunter is perfect.

OK, thanks for the feedback. Well, I need to get my hands on M1 Isida first. If I get to 3rd Lieutenant by the next 50% sale, I should be able to get both.
