Smoky has a very fast turret rotation speed, so if you can turn your hull simultaneously, you can engage a target right behind you very quickly. I've destroyed many enemies trying to sneak up on me that way. The recoil can also be useful; you can jump from the top of Esplanade, fire once to stabilize yourself, and land safely. If you're flipped over on your side, Smoky's recoil is your best friend (at least if you have Wasp/Hornet/Hunter).

Hmm, it has something do do with M3 Wasp, no? M3 Rail/M3 Wasp?
-
M3 Smoky is amazing. Very fast rate of fire? Check. Hefty crit damage? Check. Huge knockback? Check. M3 Smoky + M3 Hunter + Prodigi = Railgun killing machine If you're wondering where I got this information, test server open testing.

Congrats to Vette for ranking up! :tank: ___________ I feel like Titan was nerfed too much; Dictator comes pretty close to Titan in terms of health and has far better speed. I'm not saying we should nerf Dictator, since it really needed a buff, but the devs should give Titan some of the nerfed health back.

I find that a lot of people completely ignore arcade mode when they use Shaft. Yes, it's not nearly as powerful as sniping mode, but it's far from purely being an emergency weapon. Need to finish off a weakened enemy? Arcade mode can. Need to fire at somebody passing by really quickly? Arcade mode can. Need to annoy another Shaft by messing with his aim? Arcade mode can. Need to soften up an enemy a little bit for your teammates? Arcade mode can. Need to knock around a charging Railgun? Arcade mode can. A lot of more inexperienced players will unload a fully charged shot into somebody and then wait until they're fully charged to fire again, in which case the target has a long window to attack you/escape/get destroyed by somebody else.

M0-M1 both look pretty good, since they're still sleek and mostly symmetrical. M2, on the other hand, is atrocious; a lot of clutter, asymmetrical, not very sleek. M3 looks awesome.

Double Battle Funds + Hunt for mega-discount
Thekillerpenguin replied to r_Mariya_860 in News Archive
w00t for double battle funds, but I already have M1 Firebird, and M2 Firebird isn't going to be available to me for a while. Eh, hopefully we'll get some sales on other items too. -
Hornet can take more punishment and is more resistant to knockback compared to Wasp. In "head on fight", I mean fighting on open ground with little cover. __________ The overall shape and layout of Viking is a flattened, wider Hunter. Am I the only one who noticed that?
-
There currently isn't any hull that's "sucky". Wasp can be exceptionally dangerous to users of heavy hulls (and light too) if you attack from behind, more so than Hornet since it's faster. The only thing Wasp isn't good at is attacking enemies head on; you're not going to last long in a firefight. Also, although Wasp's instability can be mitigated with some practice, it's pretty easy to flip a Wasp with Smoky or Railgun (that said, it's hard to hit a moving Wasp with Railgun). Hornet isn't as good for guerilla tactics, but it makes up for it by being able to perform fairly well for head-on-assaults if you have a ranged weapon, hence why I tend to use it more often. Hornet vs. Wasp is more of a versatility vs. specialization thing. Wasp is better at doing what it does best, but Hornet is better at doing what it doesn't do as well. Dictator, on the other hand, is more of a "Hey world, come and get some" hull. It's highly visible hull that pretty much announces its arrival on the battlefield, but you can dish out and shrug off a lot of damage. Dictator is the hull of choice for those who choose to be badass.

I played on a Highland TDM with my M0 Hunter and M1 Shaft. Yep, a 60.00 K/D ratio. The only death I got was when I was collecting crystals.
-
Actually, it does. A vanilla M1 Railgun deals 74 minimum damage and 116 maximum damage. A vanilla M1 Wasp has 95.4 health, so at close ranges you're going to get one-shotted by M1 Railguns. I'll think about it, since I'm probably going to buy my M1 light hull on the next sale. I really wish I could take garage items for a test drive.
-
Great V-LOG! If you wait until the end, you can see the concepts for the Firebird and Hunter (maybe another hull at the very end that I can't identify) in the new Tanki. Firebird's animations look pretty awesome.
-
At M0, Dictator is basically a slower Viking with a very small health advantage. At M1-M2, Dictator's more of a medium-heavy hull. At M3, it's pretty much a heavy hull with the speed of a medium hull.
-
I'm tempted to get M1 Wasp on the next sale instead of M1 Hornet. Wasp seems to be better for circle strafing and hit-and-run, but it seems pretty fragile; M1 Railgun can destroy a M1 Wasp at close range, while M1 Hornet can take that and still survive (low health, but that's good enough to finish off any Railgun you're facing). Thoughts?
-
Hornet tends to drift a lot, which can be a bad thing, but it's never really bothered me that much. Wasp is noticeably lighter than Hornet, however, and it gets bounced around a lot more from knockback/recoil. Still, gotta love the speed. :P Both work perfectly fine for me, but I use Hornet more often out of personal preference. The nice thing about my M1 Smoky is that if a Wasp or Hornet is driving on a ramp (or an edge), and around half of their tank is sticking out, I can flip them over with the knockback. Easy to perform on Wasps, doable with Hornets, difficult with Hunter and up. I guess that's a price to pay for using light hulls.
-
I guess so. Same thing with the M1 Heavy Tank kit (it's actually more expensive than the Turret Kit!)
-
I'm jealous of anybody who manages to get the Turret Kit. Is it possible without buying?
-
Noobest FTW. They've won everything so far, and they've beaten their competitors at least once each. Their paint is epic too. It would be great if we were allowed to keep these paints, but I'm afraid that might not happen.
-
Any ideas on how to dodge Railgun shots on open ground? I'm pretty good with feigning, but if I don't have any cover (or a Smoky/Rico), I'll usually get hit.
-
Well, good luck in advance to all who are planning on attending. Let's hope that the in-game festivities will be good. I'm not expecting a 50% sale on everything, but some discounts and double funds would be nice.

Lead paint colored bright red?
Thekillerpenguin replied to Thekillerpenguin in Lead paint colored bright red? Archive
http://i.imgur.com/7msiXIF.jpg As you can see, I have Lead paint equipped, and for whatever reason, it's appearing as a bright red (similar to the Red paint, but lighter and with more saturation). I've tried switching to other paints and back, but with no luck. It still appears as this color in-game, as you can see in the following link: http://i.imgur.com/ByjkoSZ.jpg When I first equipped the paint, it took a while to load, so, in my boredom, I starting spinning the garage view around (click and drag). Not sure if that has anything to do with it. -
^this. If you fully MU Isida's self healing percentage to 50%(I've done that on the test server), once you pop a DP, you'll be healing yourself faster than most players can damage you. If you then pop a double armor, you'll be pretty much invincible as long as you have a constant supply of targets to "feed" on and the enemy team isn't focusing all their fire at you.
-
It's your fault then; you should always strive to be an active member of your team. If you want to just wait around, you should get back into the fight after waiting a few minutes, and after you die, you can pause again.
-
You can't really say that. Railgun is the second worst turret at rate of fire, and is the most vulnerable to knockback, since there's a charging time. At close range, Railgun doesn't have the DPS to deal with anything except for lone Wasps, so the only thing you can do is run away and hope you can evade them enough to get another hit on your enemy. I like Railgun, but I don't use it much at the moment since M0 Railgun isn't very effective against the M1 hulls I'm seeing more frequently. Once I get it to M1, I'll probably use it more.
-
It's highly variable, depending on your luck, so I don't think there's an accurate way of judging that. I have an M1 Smoky, and on average, I get a critical hit every 3-4 hits. I've used M3 Smoky on the test server, and it gets crits every 2-3 hits (no, like seriously). Assuming that you have M2 Smoky, and that M2 Smoky is somewhere in between, you're probably going to get a critical hit around every 3 shots. If that sounds like a lot, don't worry; M2 Smoky shoots pretty quickly (not quite as quick as M3, but still significantly higher than M1, so you get the point).
