I think Twins generally works best with a heavy hull. Its infinite firing duration was meant for players fighting constantly on the front lines for long periods of time. To take advantage of that, you need to make sure that you will last long enough to deal appreciable damage (Rico, at least at M0, has a higher DPS than Twins, but after a certain point Twins wins the damage race since you don't have to recharge). If you need to last long in front line combat (you can't take cover while firing Twins at your enemies), there's no better way to go than Mammoth or Titan.

There are a lot of Railgun players out there, so it's understandable.

Dangit, Noobest lost. It seems like they were not playing well today; they were missing a few of their top players, I think. Can somebody fill me in on how the final brackets will work? Tomorrow is Can't Stop vs. All In, so will the winner of that match face Scorpions?
-
Eh, maybe. I took a look at Noobest's matches against several other clans, and it seems like they only use 1-2 Hunters per game. Hornet is still the most common hull in the latest Starladder tournaments.

That doesn't work at higher modifications, since Twin's recoil will utterly screw up your stability/driving. I decided to try out M3 Twins on M3 Wasp on the test server for fun, and it did not work well at all.
-
Smoky gets a LOT better at higher modifications. At M0 it's pretty terrible, but it becomes very effective at M1 and M2 and borderline overpowered at M3.

Hmm, then the Wiki must be wrong. It says here (http://en.tankiwiki.com/Micro-upgrades_Viking#Protection_4) that a fully MU'd Viking's health is 300, and here (http://en.tankiwiki.com/Micro-upgrades_Dictator#Protection_4) it says that a fully MU'd Dictator's health is also 300. They might have forgotten to update it for the rebalance (I think I MU'd my M3 Dictator in the test server to 330 health).

Lag can be caused by the following: Bad/acting up internet connection- Often the problem. Try restarting your router. If there's a lot of people using your network at a time, it will also slow down your internet. Bad/overworked computer- Also a common problem. Close all tabs (especially videos/music) in your browser besides Tanki, don't run too many programs at once. If your antivirus is running a scan, it will also significantly increase lag, but for security purposes, I generally wouldn't recommend canceling it. If your computer has been working hard for a while (listen to the fan), it might be a good idea to save your work, turn off the computer, and let it cool down for a while. Once it feels cool, boot it up again. It should be running better. Not living close to the servers- Tanki's main servers are in Russia, I think. If you live in Russia, great for you! If not, you'll have to cut down on lag with the other options.

I have 30,056 crystals right now. Should I get M1 Wasp immediately, or should I wait for a sale?

Dictator-Railgun gives you a very good position to shoot from (the turret is raised higher on the hull), so you can attack targets that you can't normally hit with Railgun. In addition, Dictator has a lot of health, and is less vulnerable to knockback from Smoky and Ricochet. ________ According to the wiki, a fully MU'ed M3 Viking has the same health and more speed than a fully MU'ed M3 Dictator. Is that actually accurate? If so, Dictator's health MUs need to be buffed.

Smoky goes well with all hulls, but you'll play different roles depending on your choice. Smoky/Wasp- Exceedingly dangerous to enemies if you're skilled. Use guerrilla tactics and circle strafe. Smoky/Hornet- Can also be very dangerous. Guerrilla tactics/circle strafing are recommended, but you can also charge headlong into battle with a little caution. Smoky/Hunter- You can't really circle strafe or use guerrilla tactics very efficiently with this combo, but you can charge into battle as much as you'd like. It's still good for flanking and surprise attacks, though not quite as much as the light hulls. Smoky/Viking- For front line combat. Smoky/Dictator- Also for front line combat, but probably not fast enough to be the tip of the spear. Smoky/Titan- Front line combat all the way, but you're pretty slow. Still very powerful in the right hands. Watch out for Railguns or Shafts. Smoky/Mammoth- Exceedingly sluggish and somewhat ugly tank. You're at the mercy of Railguns and Shafts. Still, it's excellent if you want to sit on the flag.

There are two types of Shaft users: *Ones who find a camping spot, zoom in, and wait. These guys are the most common. Medium/heavy hulls are the best for this purpose. *Ones who move around a lot and quick-snipe. These guys are very uncommon. Light/medium hulls are best for this purpose. An issue I see a lot on lower ranks is that a lot of players love camping with Shaft, but most of them put it on Hornet or even Wasp. They stay in one spot for a long time, which makes it really easy to counter snipe them. If you're going to use a light hull with Shaft, you should be a proactive Shaft.
-
Yep, I've tried it on the test server. The next person will like Picasso.
-
With double power, you can basically one shot everything, not to mention that fact that you can kill light hulls really quickly (just quick snipe). Heck, even the arcade shots become really deadly.
-
Or use Smoky to disrupt their aim. Speaking of which, yesterday I was facing somebody with M1 Railgun/M1 Viking in a TDM, while I had M0 Hornet/M1 Smoky. Every time he started charging, I shot him in the corner of his tank, and I made him miss every time.

The lightning is Power. Power is basically acceleration. Pushing force = acceleration x weight
-
Titan needs that acceleration if you want to push other players with it.
-
M0 Thunder isn't nearly as good as M1 Thunder, but that doesn't mean it isn't good. It's effective against M0 hulls (especially Hornet/Wasp), and can still do a number against M1 hulls.

The red tank is Godmode_ON, but the tank with the Lord paint is the player sidlob, who "helped the game a lot during the very first steps of the project". _______________________________________ 1. What are the favorite tank combinations of each of the developers? 2. Could you give us a general idea on the progress of the new Tanki? You said you were working on the final stages now, but a percentage would be great. 3. Are you planning to add more turrets/hulls to this Tanki? The Development Plans section of the forum mentions some prototypes.
-
I wasn't quoting you word for word. You said: which is basically saying that you shouldn't use Thunder with light hulls. I probably should have used different wording in my previous post, but my point still stands; Thunder is great with light hulls if you know what you're doing.
-
That was barely coherent. I disagree with your opinion that Thunder can't be used with light hulls. The recoil isn't much of a problem if you're careful, and using a light hull means you can strike fast and strike hard. If you're careful enough to not stray too close, a Hornet or Wasp equipped with Thunder can wreak havoc on a clustered group of tanks. Also, putting that fancy "Thread Closed" image at the end does not close the thread in any way, shape, or form.
-
Now that I think of it, I think I'm going to get M1 Wasp on the next sale as my M1 light hull. It pairs very well with Smoky, and the low health isn't too much of a issue if you can circle strafe and knock around the aim of your enemies. If there's a 50% discount on it, it's also dirt cheap. Stability also isn't really an issue if you have Smoky. Hornet is a bit too mainstream. :P

From what I've heard, M2 Smoky is a great buy. Don't be so disappointed.

Gahh, I ALMOST got a Gold Box today in a Seruphov TDM. It fell in the lower corridor underneath the ramp to the Red Team base, and I was hopping off the large bridge on the side. Unfortunately, one of my teammates saw the same thing a few seconds later, and I landed on his tank by mistake. That cost me the Gold Box.
