So, first things first. I snap shottedthat post so if it is deleted EVERYONE can still see it if I decide to post it up again. All tankers out there, this is you're BUYER with a chip on their shoulder. Tank i IS NOT pay to play. I HAVE been railing on non buyers abouttheir whining, but you sir are the diametrically opposite ill of Tanki online, the high and mighty "I spent 40 dollars on Tanki, so I should rule the roost and play with indemnity to how others percieve game play and their experience, all that matters is me!" If you spent much more than that, whatever, I can tell you now that I can't post up what I think of people that spend 100+ dollars on games, so suffice to say I'll let it rest. Now that your "gender interior organs" are aching and hurting, you TOO can feel the ire of people who play within the bounds of the game paradigms and have gotten burned before but have spent little or no money. You are not the only person with few extra dollars to spend on the game, and people who usually don't, might be inclined to spend some if they see parity now, based upon playability ultimately, rather than greed, as so many have cast the management and devs intentions to be. They are searching for a way to live AND make the GAME better. The game is ultimately what matters. All you buyers think you belong to some elite cult because you opened your wallet. The game is one thing, it's maintenance and earnings is another. Both have to exist to sustain itself, NOT JUST your money. So, if you have spent inordinates amounts of REAL WORLD cash to upgrade your virtual in game combat platform, well, you know what I think of that, I just mentioned it above, but guess what, sorry Holmes, GAME BALANCE, just like when they threw a laser on my Shaft because little buyers like you didn't like getting owned by full charged scoped shots even when you were drugged, which all goes back to those tender body parts I referred to. Window shoppers just look, they don't wear, and last I checked, I buy, wear, and use my equipment too, I just do it slower and within the realms of my abilities. Want a pay to play service, go play LoL or WoW, this is Tanki, grow some and be quiet, the one time something DOESN'T benefit you you have to turn into nasty child and call other players window shoppers. Skills, try try working on those, and maybe you can earn more crystals instead of buying them. So like in the past, when buyers used to scoff at non buyers and their complaints, today the shoe is on the other foot, and we say to you now "poor baby". (note to mods, I have been exceptionally careful with my vernacular here, so no pointing fingers at me, saying I've been inappropriate, I chose carefully and wisely)

Again, change happens slowly. Okay, I liked the pick and choose upgrade path better too, but guess what, they changed things, and for once, people WHO DID pay in crystals, bought or earned, got their due compensation. Oh, and guess what, buyers DO get the shorter end of the stick on occasion, imagine that, non buyers were thrwon a bone in this one, or better said, the whole damn carcass. This ROCKS, and if I have to reconsider how I'm going to MU, well, so be it, but at least all my past efforts are not for nothing. This is the way it's done. Buyers, oh well, the game is the game, they get enough bennys as it is, so they can't complain either. All the Kits, and drug packages discounted, tada, this is for all players, period. I don't care WHAT ANYBODY SAYS, this was a fair and proper upgrade solution path, period.

This update is how things should be. Tanki has learned the lessons I think needed to make changes and keep people happy. Sure, they might take a little hit on some players with full MU's, but you know what, WE'RE damn stoked and happy. I went in, saw my shaft and my hornet and I was like "WHAT?!". Seriously, this rocks, I got a little something for the troublesi n the changes, squared away, taken care of. No complaints, no issues, no whining, but simple fair treatment of players who played, purchased, and planned as they should within the paradigms presented. Those get changed, no worries, they took care of you. If Tanki keeps this up, all the woes of the past will likely be forgotten, this was GRADE A classy treatment of it's members. Good job staff and devs, and not so much for the technical deployment, you guys generally get it right the first time, it's the soft skills and player impact that is the real win this time.

So, last night updates happen, world up on arms, no server access, blah, blah, blah. Comes back up, I play, it goes back down. Wait a little, boom, back. In that little time I read up on the upgrade to micro upgrades. I'm like NO FREAKIN' WAY! I hit my account again and DON'T go to the garage though, it hadn't sank in what it all meant. I'm playing and I'm single shotting hulls that usually take more work when scoped. I was like WHAT?! and my hull, it's all a little off, strange, it can't seem to respond quiteright, like I'm touch out of control. For the record, M1 Shaft, M2 Hornet. So you might ask, what's my post about? HA HA, I MU'd my Shaft in Reload and Arcade to the MAX before the update, and I hadn't had the M2 Hornet all that long either2, maybe 3 months, BUT I had finished upgrading the srmor on it, all 25 levels, like 6 days ago. BAM! LIKE BOSS, MF's! I got baseline M2 Shaft performance and M3 Hornet performance! OH, and guess what? When I rank for my my Shaft, it's free! Yep, or as all the little kids say now, "yup". Oh, and the Hornet, yeeeaaahhhhh, M3 freebie when I rank to that (maybe new tanki will be around by then, but whatever, the Shaft is mighty close now). So yeah, Sporting M2 Shaft stats like a boss now, and I "likes" the upgraded scoped damage, talk about boom boom, and I can't imagine what picking up a DD and hammering away with it will be like too. Stoked to play again soon. Okay, Quasi Shaft related rant over, as you were.
-
I am in the process of compiling a Shaft guide, and I consulted with a few people on this. The fact of the matter is, the reload rates aftr scoped shot and the reload rate after a Arcade shot are complicated, but yet the math ends up being a wash. Use the reload rate for consecqutive Arcade shots. IT ends up lining up, I don't know if this was by design or some math equation that coincendentally ended up having a pattern they used between Arcade and Scope. Use the tank stats in the Wiki and whatever you see there for reload rate of Arcade shots is what you use. (Really, this had me banging my head against the wall too)

Okay, so yes, when combined with buyer habits, this is one more thing to crush the little guy, but all of you are missing the big picture. You do not throw away your business model over night. Drugs have been paying the bills there at Tanki, UNFORTUNATELY, and I agree, WHOLEHEARTEDLY, drugs mess up the entire game. They they are distributed, and used, and the premise of having them even is something I have contentions with on all levels. That said though, Tanki, for the FIRST TIME, has offered an alternative to that earnings model in hopes of seeing if they can get enough traction to make this model work. If it does, you will likely see an increase in changes, like where drugs are more expensive, harder to use, less frequent, etc, and the benefits might even sway more to the Account side than the straight buyer side. You can't sell cars that need new doors every month, and then one day to the next sell an insurance plan that makes sure you have doors all the time and expect a flawless transition. The example is not a great one, but it points out the exact nature of the money and the issue. THEY HAVE TO EARN XYZ amount evey month. Keep the lights on, the water in the toiler running, servers up, heating, cooling, it's a business. Then you have to pay people. Like I said, folks, really, be patient, this is the beginning of something, and if it works, I'm guessing Tanki X will be lessons learned from Tanki Online, and they will make sweeping changes in the new version to keep this from being the issue it has been, IF WE SUPPORT it. That means spend a few bucks on them. As for honest non-buyer players, the truth is, if drugs were discounted from battles, this account system would do only one thing, it would make players move up faster, and die a little less if they REALLY WANT TO SPORT THAT GAUDY GOD AWFUL PAINT JOB (I mean really devs, a tank that looks like it just roll off the set of "pimp my ride" with that paint job, do better next time, I want a tank, not a blinged out, treaded, low rider). IF they get better equipment and higher ranks faster, non buyers will contend with them only on their level of rank, and mind you, the faster xp means less game play, so you'll be eating their sack lunches most of the time. Then they'll blow past your rank and into higher ones and you won't even see them much. They paid for it, so be it.

Explain everything they need? People pay bills every month. Let's talk about that. They have EVEYTHING THEY NEED. Do they now? And you know this how? They are all millionares? Or if not, each programmer there is clearing 80 grand and full benefits? Got the car AND THE house? C'mon dude, give it a rest. Everybody works, and programmers are no different, and they get paid nothing compared to 10 years ago in fact. So when you say they have everything they need, yo utell me, what is it they have that you are so certain of? (and for the record, they don't recieve tax dollars to make Tanki, so try again with your example)

Now this is something I can get behind. Agreed, no greater satisfaction than being the "cooler" the other team hates. Isn;t it nice too when the izzies on your team start flocking around you like remoras? It's so great when you have a good shafting day. "That's right, you hate me, but you love me too." Yep, I have a thunder now too, bought it just for missions (Shaft ain't that great on some maps) and I hate it, boring. Love racking up those kills baby.

Wow, welcome Chairman Mao, please, Stalin is waiting for you in the next room . . . I'd say something, but my last big post was gently edited by a mod. The reality of this is that I can't speak to this, OR YOU, without tearing you a new one, so yeah, I'll let the first sentence speak for itself, oh, and yeah, GOD BLESS AMERICA, almost forgot, SO LUCKY TO BE HERE, and not whereever you are. (My apologies to all you Russians working on this game too, you guys came around and are fighting the good fight so to speak, and you get crap like this now, forget them, just keep doing what you do)

Well, to this note, I cannot say you are necessarily wrong, BUT, lets face the facts, my point stil lstands, these guys are slaving away at the Unity version, trying to keep the ship afloat, and are probably running into money issues as they get closer. You do the most you can, when you can, and now the last of the details are what remain, and the devil is always in the details, I'm a developer of siolutions, business IT, and I can tell you there is NO way these guys aren't hitting a few walls, and it's game time folks, they released the trailer, the expectation has been set, it's over, it's make or break for these guys. They need money, so be it, they are selling you something, and might I remind you, 10 dollars a month, c'mon folks, are you really up in arms over ten bucks a month? I still haven't gotten around to paying my ten, but I will. Guys, again, this is precious little, and yes, if you prefer the straight crystal purchase, then by all means, they haven't stopped you from buying them, have they? Sure, dollar for dollar you get more crystal maybe, but in the end, this isn't about that, the acounts are different. You get a little of this, and a little of that, etc, etc. No one said it was panacea, it's just another option. I WISH buyers would be limited to such things, a few extra crystal and some XP. Pure buyers with tons of credit and supplies out the nose? This is the better solution? No, this is fair, and you get pro pass, which means no more buyer clubs coming in and ruining you day with drugs galore and all that. I'm fine with this. Now, you do bring up a VERY important point. The garage and NEW tanki. IF they are to expect us to ride it out with them, loyal to the idea of the game, one that has no real parallel elsewhere, and is unique and has a charm all to itself, but that's not enough to expect us to roll over. I certainly hope that new Tanki is not devoid of our old equipment or empty garages. We deserve better I think. This of course does force the difficult question, what will there be for those who have it all already? But that's not up to the designers to pillage the garages of others. Some lame expectation that we'll be happier starting over, "FEEL THE EXCITEMENT" of starting over, is not a welcome though on my part either. I think if we support it as it is now, and remind them that the trade off is a promise to not leave us devoid of any past arned materials, things should be fine. ADMONISHMENT TO TANKI STAFF, listen to what I say folks, I think you are hearing people really talk now. This is the crux of things, you need, you want, so if you get, give.

Okay, that makes much more sense and gives me hope for humanity.

"2000 close friends on tanki" Wow, you are a sad, lonely, very little person. Nobody has more than 300 people they can even count as friends, we aren't designed, biologically, with the capacity for empathy beyond that number on an interpersonal level. Dude, you have NO friends and a number on a screen is the cloesest you get to approaching ONE. One, get a life, two, while I have RAILED on Tanki time and again about the stupid updates they have released, this is NOT one I can complain about. For noobs, they get their little cool paint job, for other players you get some extra XP and some crystal to offset the purchase of the account, and the programmers get, and maybe I need to like write this in huge letters or something: DEVELOPERS GET FIXED INCOME. THEY EAT, PAY RENT, AND AFFORD THE THINGS THEY NEED IN LIFE WITH A GREATER SENSE OF CERTAINTY, IE, UNLIKE YOU, THEY HAVE LIVES THAT NEED TO BE LIVED, AND HAVE TO EARN A LIVING. I have yet to spend dime on this account (I have on another), and I don't play enough to justify the Premium Account, until today, after reading the double battle fund. I will likely now do it, because my earnings and my increased XP will be inline to keep my garage up to the levels of the players of my rank now. I get PRO Pass access too, and I know I'm paying programmers like 10 bucks a month to keep programming. This is DIRT CHEAP for the knowledge I'm helping pay for the maintenance of this game. You can't buy decent toilet paper for 10 bucks. ALL OF YOU - that are complaining need to stop, poke your heads up over your computer monitors, and look at the real world and remember that the people that don't waste their lives on JUST GAMES and have to earn a living, even if it is MAKING GAMES, have to make money too.

No, not the tank, the building, the 3ds file. So lets use Gasoline, the Garage/Mechanic type building from the Buildings library. Like I said before, it's not a matter of the XML I think, I looked at all of it and added the lines required to add the prop item to the list in Alternativa Editor. Still though, I cannot make that prop see the "skin" for it.
-
Okay, so for the REAL MAP MAKERS. I'm trying to skin a building from the buildings v.1 library. So I have added ALL THE NECESSARY XML references (or at least all that I can see) to add the new skin for the mesh file. Edited the old skin, saved it as a jpg unde another name (YES, I added it to the list in the library file), and boom, try to add it to the folder and open the editor and it NEVER sees it, never has it as on option. Is it the 3ds file itself that has a pointer as well in it that says what skins could be used, or am I missing something?

As an aside, I have ALWAYS thought it would be nice to make customized paints of an asthetic nature that would be a GREAT selling point for Tanki. Provide the specs required, offer a simple tool to allow you to paint for each of the hulls, and ensure that all hulls, M0 through 3 are properly formatted, and then you submit. It can't have objectionable content, but tasteful pin up girls, the skarks mouth, things like that, classic armor type things, or whatever the heck you wanted. They'd make a mint. YOU'RE WELCOME TANKI STAFF.

So when was the last time you went into a team death match and said..

And this is exactly the attitude that makes playing this game sometimes abhorent. The SPIRIT of what is intended issuperceded by the assinine and weak minded notion that if something can be done, that it's perfectly okay to do it. Fighting, dignity, it's a game, not survival, fight like you have some self respect punks and actually play what is intended. This kind of banter reminds me of all the a**h**** that LOVE Survivor the TV show. Social skillsand what not? Are you srious, contrived and shows no REAL FIGHTING skills. Author of this Thread, you are right, there IS SOMETHING WRONG, and it's people like this person. -
While I am VERY happy for the stats page, the personal profile page I am a bit on the fence about Seymon. What is most disturbing is the clear view of what each person has in their garage. I guess one could say that if you played with it, it was out in public, thus it's fair game to talk about. By the same token though, the equipment you buy that you are not necessarily comfortable with or don't care for others to know about is modestly complicating. I am outing myself I suppose in making the statement, but for the sake of others like me, I'll do it. I own a Thunder ONLY for the purposes for completing missions. I play Shaft exclusively otherwise. I switch only to enter death matches, complete my mission requirements, and then leave. Now I have the issue of perhaps others berating me and bothering me to change equipment in battle to better "support" whatever it is they want. No one needs to know I have a Thunder. I think the general stat area should be available to all, but the sub-category area of Garage related information should bea switch that gets turned on or off as a preference. I know it seems likea small thing, but there ARE subtlties that can be picked up on when looking at gen stats and then garage, like where money goes, etc. Very clever players could try to capitalize in game based upon what they discern of your garage, and maybe equip themselves unfairly to nullify your strengths. Again, this is minutia of course, and would require an effort most players don not invest, but still, might be a thought if there is an easy fix for this. Otherwise it is beautifully implemented and well done, twice in a row now I have something positive to say.

This topic has degenerated into a serious discussion about premium accounts. We were doing SO WELL yesterday too, what happened?
-
I disagree, I think it's perfect, you shouldn't get those thigs over the people who can only play without pay. This account addresses the very real issue of players that seek a pure game play, no drugs. Pure skill and planning, knowing your enemy and no surprises, linear expectation of the enemy equipment you see and a way to then plan defence and attack, premium pass and developers still make money. Maybe other benefits, but I'm fine with the marginal cost offset of bonus crystals and xp when I know I get Pro Pass as well and can finally find other Pro players likely buying in for much the same reason. Otherwise I don't know, be a PA memeber for a year and you send me a T Shirt or something, who cares, the point is purists can play now and devs can eat, you'll get no complaints from me.
-
You can find a white boy willing to wear panties and a crop top with rainbow dyed hair for you? Of course the next question I'd ask might not be comfortable, though I' don't who for, you having to answer it, or me having to ask it.
-
Oh, for the record, we love our dogs, but not boys in panties with tie-dyed hair. In fact, I'll kick one of them there fairies if they ever tried anything with me, my dog though, I usually let slide if he takes a whiz on the carpet occasionally (it was my fault anyways, I was drunk at the strip club and didn't check the time, poor thing was locked up for 10 hours, of course the girl I met was too, but that's another story)
-
Maybe out right, yes, you're right, but Tanki staff can't bank on that. If you buy straight up three months of the access, they are getting paid up front, you commit, they commit. I am not communist or socialist, they have to eat and live and hopefully thrive a little in life, a cheap subscription package I know they can count on to calculate how much money they have to operate with seems like a fair trade. The idea of a open air market and throwing your wares out on a rug and expecting some sort of consistent return is daunting way to live. This gives them a sense of reliable income, makes sense for them to want to mature the office and the business model into something that they can settle into, otherwise you'll get turn over at Tanki as people leave for better and more secure jobs. This allows Tanki to bank roll three months of money ahead of time and plan. Remember, it's not just about us, they have to live too, and this time they have been very reasonable. I don't like the paint much either, and you won't catch me using it (unless there is some other reason for using it, like lulz in a battle or a joke are some foolishness, but serious gameplay I'd be ashamed to stick out liek sore thumb like that). Point is, they are reaching out without saying it, give us three months of VERY reasonably priced pay to play, and well give you a way to play how ever YOU want to play it. I think it's the right mix.

I'm here now.

You knooooowwwww . . . . I could probably find just little bit of free content if you're intersted, though I'm surprised you need to find it here, I could point you to a few places that might take up so much of your time you never come back here.
