100 all supplies Python paint 5 Gold Boxes

Assault Mode last year and the year before was great. I was one of the ones pleading to bring it back. I am glad they did, thrilled in fact. It was fun because Red team had an advantage doing something new. That helped adoption. Now balance changes have swung most maps in favor of Blue defenders. But - blue can defend in any team mode - CTF, CP, TDM. Thus Assault Mode is largely abandoned. Highland is about the only map left where Red can still win. These balance changes need to be scaled back a bit if not undone completely. Red teams need a reason to play this mode - right now that’s missing.

Murdock is right. Legend battles are ruthless and they are also smart. You’ll never see a supply drop left to sit, or an Overdrive unused, or an idle tank left to smell the roses. Show up with M2 equipment and expect to get wrecked and perhaps ridiculed. Show up with anything lower and sure, you’re gonna get raged at, since your very presence is disrupting the balance of the battle. .
-
The results may also be skewed since people who get better rewards are more likely to post here than those who just get supplies. Bragging rights and all. Just sayin’ - when you do run the numbers I think you might end up with an inflated likelihood of receiving appealing rewards like legendary paints, Premium Time, and Crystal packs.

Thank you everyone. Makes sense that contents are determined upon container open.

Gotcha.

I really like this idea - based on the price point of XTs, the M3 alteration slot seems more likely. Although during their initial description of Alterations, the devs did say the M0 alteration would be cosmetic and XT is cosmetic, yet expensive. On another note, it feels like the devs have a lot of irons in the fire right now with Overdrives, HTML5, mobile, XT, etc. I hope we don't get rushed and as a result buggy releases.

In its current state, I tend to agree. This morning I noticed that there were only four or five battles to choose from and those battles were not full. That's not good to start with when the other battle modes each have 30-50 battles at the exact same time. The underlying problem is that the map largely determines the winning team. I played Highways and again noticed that Blue team completely slaughters Red. I didn't stay. I then played Bridges and again noticed that the bridge above the blue capture point enables Red team to win easily by jumping off the bridge onto the point. IMO balance of any Assault Mode map should slightly favor the Red team, but not so much that it is pointless in terms of crystal rewards to play Blue. Let me explain. Blue team is playing TDM, which is no different that playing most other modes. This change IMO was a mistake, since half the battle can be played in any other mode - in other words there is reduced appeal of Assault Mode as a unique format for Blue team. So, back to Red - as it stands Red team is the only unique play style for Assault Mode - the need to carry a flag one way for a capture and cover ally tanks while they make their journey, and follow along close enough to pick up a flag from a destroyed team mate before it auto-returns. This is good stuff. But many maps like Highways are merely slaughter-fests for Red team. This further discourages players from joining Assault Mode battles. Even with a unique play style, no one is going to join a battle just to get run over and thus get no crystals. Red team needs a fighting chance in all Assault Mode maps if this format is going to survive and thrive. Alterniva, please consider this a plea to save Assault Mode.

My three from week 4 rewards today: 100 All Supplies Python Paint 5 Gold Boxes I'm pretty happy with this. FYI with apologies to mods, in service of reaching more readers, I'll be posting this in a couple of threads related to containers and updated mission rewards, including yesterday's VLog.

I did not have a use case for grinders. Grinders don’t have a problem earning crystals because they play far more than most players. I didn’t bother because most players aren’t grinders.

Yes, this - the value of paints and any other container reward is in the eyes of the player. I am Premium until mid April. A Premium-bearing container is worthless to me. I bought a container and got Harlequin paint. Cute and sweet but not good enough. Also worthless. Show me the Zeus or Emerald. Supplies? I have almost 10k of everything. A few hundred more? Worthless. Crystals? Here’s the rub. If I bought containers for real money, there’s better ways to turn that real money into crystals. Cough Premium Cough. But as a mission reward bonus, I’ll take em. So my week 4 chain reward kicks tomorrow. I’ll be back to post what I got and it’s relative value TO ME. Edit: RIP spelling .

No, neither of us will. But we are gonna see plenty of pics and video on the forum of others who do. All of which plays into the desire of Joe Player to buy more containers.
-
XT hasn’t been special since they were added to missions. You’ll generally see one or two XTs in any Legend battle.
-
Interesting that XT Skins are mentioned. Don’t hold your breath waiting for these to appear in the game /  Shop  This begs a serious question about containers. Is the container’s content determined when the container is purchased or when it is opened? If the former, I’m not buying any more containers until after XT Skins are in the game. If the latter, i’m Stockpiling my mission chain reward containers until XT Skins are in the game.

I would not be surprised at all to learn that behind the scenes some sort of tiered container distribution scheme is or soon will be in play. I ‘would’ be surprised if we are ever told about it.

It won’t take me that long, again, because I buy. I bet someone has run the numbers on this. A lot depends on how you obtain crystals and how you spend them. The calculations get complex quickly, but with some assumptions a few illustrative use cases might tell a compelling story. Use case 1 - a non buyer, non-Premium earns crystals through battle fund and mission/chain rewards only, and maybe gets a bonus here and there from winning a newspaper contest or other minor windfall. He MUs as soon as he can afford them and also during sales. It’s gonna take this guy a very long time to reach M4 garage Use case 2 - Premium player earning double battle funds plus daily crystal bonus. By definition, the double funds alone mean this guy is going to make M4 in about half the time as Player 1. Use case 3 - The Buyer. This guy in theory has unlimited crystals, but in reality will spend both real money and crystals wisely. That means lower numbered MUs will be bought at full price but higher more expensive MUs will only happen on sales. It will still take awhile to complete an M4 garage, but this player is me, and I expect to have my Garage all M4 by Legend 8.

Maybe if every user has the same avatar but could at least change it to their favorite color. IMO forum looks really boring on mobile, which is exclusively how I use it. When I’m on a computer, I’m in battle, bro...

This idea has been officially rejected by Hazel himself during one of the older livestreams. The cost in crystals for M5 is simply outrageous. It would also kill the game in one fell swoop. Cmon - how many of you M4 tankers really want to start all over with another MicroUograde cycle. And Legend rank is not enough. Would have to be Legend 5, maybe 10. Heck, I’m a Legend 6 Premium buyer and I still don’t have a full M4 garage.
-
Hey CooperO, I really hope this is true, but I am skeptical. Can I ask if this is confirmed with Tanki or if this is your general understanding.
-
Some folks are talking about getting noob paints from containers. I bought up all those on 50% sale, so any garage paint I get from a container oughtta be decent. And consider this - we already know about color coded containers. That is what we see. What we don’t see is that containers have been separated into container types. Each type gives a different level of reward. Any guesses as to which container types we will see in mission chain rewards?
-
First, GREAT UPDATE!!! Thank you, Alterniva! Like others, I would also like to know what the stratification of container rewards will be. For example: How many containers are awarded to a Legend as a level 1 weekly chain bonus? Week2? Week3? Week4? I am sure others are interested in the same for lower ranks.
-
Thank you double battle funds. Now I can afford those XT micro upgrades
-
Me too. Of course, we’ll hear the “XT is not a priority at this time” from official channels, but IMO XT requires minimal effort compared to other game updates. It’s artwork, guys. C’mon. Twins XT would be a hit item. I’m confounded by why this is not in the game. Ricochet XT would be my personal  Striker XT designed as a flared cobra would be da bomb.
-
Absolutely - the Battle button and now the strange play a random battle lobby buttons.... but of course most players still use the list. So strange. IDK about the clan system. I get the impression I’ve earned myself a persona non-grata status amongst players, so no clan for me. HTML5 I get. They need to move very carefully with that, perhaps even more carefully than they have. If anything is going to bring Tanki Online to its knees, a botched platform upgrade will.
