New balance changes and other features

`All I really know is that now after the update the Freeze M1/M2 tanks have been beating up my best equipment.

Those numbers have been showing on my screen only once per second.

New balance changes and other features

Yes, I was very close up. Those figures are the maximum I have ever gotten too, I usually do even less damage than that. I also heated the tank for long enough that the effects should have been maximum that they could be (i.e. I unloaded an entire packet). For the burning time I was doing no damage after at most 3 seconds, not the claimed 15.1 seconds. Before the update the burn didn't stop until the displayed time (15.1 seconds in my case) passed, although of course the amount of burn damage lessened over time. The most burn damage I have ever done per second for afterburn since the update was only 70.

New balance changes and other features

Firebird's so-called burning time is now a misnomer. I have had the damage numbers showing in battles since the update and my Firebird's burning effect has only taken place a few (as in 2-3) seconds after I had finished firing, even after I had gotten a good long shot (as in a full shot draining all ammo at very close range). Keep in mind that the Firebird that I have been using is a heavily upgraded M2 (33/50), and the burning time parameter is 15.1 seconds (not 2-3 like in the M0). Tanki needs to either revert the actual performance so it matches the parameters or change the displayed parameters so it matches actual performance. Secondly, the damage numbers I have been getting at optimal range is far below what the parameters in the garage say. I've only been dealing at most ~200 damage per shot, not the claimed 669. I at least was able to figure all this out in battle, but I am posting here in hopes that newer less experienced players may not get a ripoff turret which they did not want. In this case right now you do not get what you pay for.

    Let's discuss Wasp!

Decreasing the parameters that make a Wasp good is essentially an extreme nerf on a hull that is a little bit UP. It's slightly increased HP is no compensation for the drastically reduced maneuverability (which is why I got Wasp in the first place). I suppose I can learn to use this updated hull, but I will have to completely change my developed tactics to do so.

8/10 Not bad at all to have a full M1 tank as a Warrant Officer 1.
  7. Despite what so many other players are saying negatively, from my experience in battles today the balance update is not nearly that bad. Quite a few good changes (yes, good!) have happened. Freeze is no longer a trash turret at the M2 and M3 levels. It actually does a decent amount of damage now. Firebird can now actually compete with Twins at close range, so Twins doesn't have quite as much of a monopoly over the short-range turrets. On a negative note I think Isida has been nerfed too much (take my thoughts on this point with a grain of salt; I haven't even used Isida in a long time but I've fought plenty of others who have used it). The main problem with it before the update was it's self-healing feature was ridiculously OP when double damage was on. It acts like it has a repair kit on at all times when it is shooting when double damage is on. The other problem was that teams of Isidas were almost immortal, so it was impossible to win a battle against them, especially when they were drugging. Like some others have suggested before, I think the best remedy to this problem is to only nerf these features when drugs are on or when there are a bunch of Isidas on a team healing each other. This will give the other turret users a chance to actually make some progress.
  8. I have mixed feelings about this update. First of all, I am glad that Freeze will be buffed as it is way too weak at the M3 level to compete with the rest of the turrets. I feel, however, that making the freeze effect weaker makes the Freeze no longer a Freeze. Firebird has been pretty well balanced and there was really no need for change there. Changing the hulls to make them all really similar was a very bad idea, as the way things currently are diversifies game play. Also, my Wasp will lose speed and thus will be an even less survivable hull to use. The main reason why I was able to use it was because of its speed.

    Let's Discuss Micro-Upgrades!

M3s are super OP at even my rank, so it doesn't really matter how much before you can feasibly get M3s. At that point the relative power of those tanks is extremely ridiculous. To give you an idea, I have no M3s right now, but I am creaming just about everyone else my rank with only a Firebird M2 (33/50 on MUs) and a fully MUd Wasp M1. I imagine that M3 tanks at that rank would be devastating.

    Let's Discuss Product Kits

Maybe they're just updating the kits for now so they can place them back in, but I need an actual Tanki helper's word on this so I can plan accordingly. If the kits will now only be for buyers, then it is pretty clear that I should focus on MUing my Firebird M2 to M3.

Why can kits no longer be purchased with crystals now? They only appear in Shop now after the update.

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

I accomplished this feat myself back when I was a Third Lieutenant. More recently I just finished MUing my Wasp M1 fully. You are right in the fact that the fully MUd Firebird M1 is extremely powerful at your rank. I remember BBQing generals with it in Polygon when I was still a really low rank.

    Let's Discuss Augments

Yes but it's only an M1/M2 level alteration.

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

That extra range (despite it being ineffective at long range) is like an extra bonus compared to Firebird. Twins is basically a medium-range turret that does around the same damage as Firebird while having far superior reloading capabilities. To answer your comment about the alteration, yes, it is way too OP. Tanki was probably already planning to nerf it and was only using those stats as a placeholder to see how much it needed to be nerfed. In terms of just the plain turret itself, Vulcan and Twins need to be fixed the most with Smoky being a possibility as well. I'd say Twins is too OP if the M1 version can match my upgraded Firebird M2 + Hunter M2 combo easily. Based on what the stats say Twins is fine and balanced but in actual battle its damage is too high to account for all its other acute advantages.

    Your "Dream Kits" Ideas

"Dragon" Kit Turret: Firebird M3 Hull: Wasp M3 Paint: Zeus Module: Badger T-H M3 Price: 434,245 (65% off) Ranks Available: Marshal to Commander Description: This tank is the perfect choice for close-range combat while on the move. Sporting an incredible look, this tank instills fear in the hearts of many tankers while also providing excellent short-range protection for the Firebird/Wasp expert.

    Let's Discuss Twins!

Freeze isn't even that effective at freezing anyway. Twins does similar damage to the Firebird at the same level but has a ridiculous amount of advantages such as infinite reload, huge impact force (Twins M1 throws around my Hunter M2 like a ping-pong ball!), and much longer range than Firebird. I think that's actually one of the turrets that needs to be nerfed the most for the game to be balanced.
  17. george_ace

    Let's Discuss Firebird!

Firebird is OK, but some of the other turrets are way too strong, especially Vulcan, Twins, and Smoky. The only thing wrong with Vulcan is that its impact force is way too high. The Vulcan M1 can throw my upgraded Hunter M2 around like a tennis ball, making it impossible for me to steer. Thus it has all the time in the world to kill before it gets attacked. Besides this its damage is extremely high for a super long range weapon. The M2 does 40 damage which isn't much lower than the 50 damage the Firebird M2 does without upgrades. Moreover they actually make it a good deal cheaper than Firebird M2. The range is so high that it can extend its fire all the way from one end of the map to the other for any map. Twins impact force and damage are way too high for the type of weapon it is. It has an infinite reload, meaning its damage should be limited enough so it is balanced with the other turrets. A Twins M1 just like the Vulcan M1 can throw my Hunter M2 around like it was a paperweight. I cannot imagine what this would do to light and even medium M1 tanks if it can do this to my M2 hull. I have had Twins users on my side in the past and whenever we both shoot at someone, the Twins M2 always wins. This indicates that Twins M2 has higher damage than Firebird M2. Now please realize that my Firebird M2 is extremely well upgraded (28/50) and does over 60 damage, plus it has the benefit of burning time. Despite this, the Twins almost always wins. Its impact force, infinite reload, extremely high damage, and good range make it nearly unbeatable. Meanwhile it has zero weaknesses at all to make up for these monstrous advantages. Smoky is for the most part a reasonable turret, but compared with Thunder it is far too powerful. Its damage per second (calculated as damage / reload time) is quite high compared to Thunder, and that's not even accounting for critical hits. Despite this seen imbalance in stats, on the battlefield it doesn't seem to be very overwhelming so I don't think it really needs to change much at all. Out of all of these, I think Twins needs the most changing because of the many advantages it has. Vulcan needs a little tweaking on the impact force and maybe range. Smoky can probably do without any changes. Some turrets are also too weak such as Freeze. Even at M4 level it is no match for the other turrets. I have tried it and even my upgraded Freeze M2 (14/50) struggles to bring down M1 medium hulls. It really needs some redeeming characteristic to make it the equal of Firebird, or nobody will use it (right now I see very, very few people with it). Its damage is decent but it suffers on range and it has no burning time feature to save it. The freeze effect isn't good enough to actually do its job. I always wind up killing the tanks I attack before I can freeze them effectively. It typically takes around 5 seconds or so of firing before something actually happens to the enemy tank. By then they have had a fair shot at us. I think if you find some other advantage for Freeze that makes it unique it will become popular again.

It's a really good kit. I still use it myself as my heavier tank. It performs quite well on Polygon CP.

MUing an item fully without speed ups costs exactly twice the amount as getting the next version of that item directly.

Or simply upgrade it a little. My upgraded Wasp M1 can withstand a Railgun M2 no problem.

MU your Firebird M2 27 times and you've built yourself a killing machine! It's almost as good as the M3.

    Let's Discuss Micro-Upgrades!

I think there should be a new kind of personal discount for MUs as well as turrets and hulls (since many people use a specific kind of combo). It would be in the range of 20% off to 50% off and would apply to all the MUs a person purchases for a limited time (20%, 25%, 30%, 35%,...,50%). There should be some sort of monitor to tell what turret and hull the user uses most frequently (this is easy, since the information is readily available in the rankings pages of the players). You can simply have a variable store the greatest XP value for turret and then another one for the hull, and then have it updated after a certain period of time. You can then randomly have a personal discount for MUs for either of these two items (most commonly used turret or most commonly used hull). I believe this new MU feature will prove to be more helpful in some cases than an upgrade on the next version of a turret or hull that the player hardly uses. Respectfully, george_ace

Boreas is gone. :( I really like Firebird + Wasp + Zeus. What kits should I get instead of Boreas and Prometheus?

What is a noob and what is a pro.

I've been called noob often even though I don't drug or buy premium account or crystals and yet have gotten Firewall Kit and a well MUd Firebird M2- all without the help of being a drugger or buyer. I'd say a noob is someone who is still learning how to play the game and has little experience, if he is past that point, then he is not a noob, although most likely he is not a pro either.
