    So it would be cool if containers and black boxes would have a longer timer then, as they are far more rare and so the effect on the vast amount of battles is tiny.

    IMHO the algorithms for an XP/BP matchmaking would be even easier then for a normal random battle matchmaker, as the variety of equipment is way lower in XP/BP. Hazel said (a long time ago in a video conference with Cedric) how awesome it must be to not lurk for XP/BP battle but just push the button of the matchmaker - but at a later (very much later) stage he wrote in the forum, that matchmaking will be for normal, non pro, random battles only. Actually.. I think it is more important that it works with those normal random battles, as multi-equipment battles are the ones that most players play + those are the ones where Tanki can make a living on by selling things through the shop (more then from the typical needs of a typical XP/BP player).

    That's interesting. I tried to bounce over the end of a few ramps fwd/backwd to check if the weight has changed; and it felt like today. But I was not under heavy fire (as I wanted to check the driving primarily, I stayed away from fights). In order to achieve that fast-stop-after-a-turn (what Hazel demonstrated on his turning-chair) they have two options that I am aware of: - either the weight(mass) - or the "Anti-inertial turning speed (deg/sec²)" parameter (you can look that up in the wiki, each hull has that one. At the moment they are all the same according to the wiki) I hope they do not change the weight of the tanks, as they are already very prone to feel flimsy if under fire. If they like to change the weight they have to adapt all other stuff around (gravity, impact force of turrets, ...). I doubt that they take that work. Let's see and keep our fingers crossed ;)

    I just tested the new controls with Titan, Hunter and Wasp M3 in the html5 testserver. If my tank turns at full speed leftwards and I take my finger of the "turn tank left" button, the tank stops to turn almost imediatly. No inertia that keeps the tank spinning for a bit. I like that. Usually such a change should make the tank more manoverable (driving snakelines like switching from a left-turn into a right-turn all the way across the map) but I could not tell if my snake-lines were more agile as before. I lack some 1:1 comparism.. and my i5 is too low powered to keep that slow html5 browser window + a stand alone flash window opened at the same time. But at least: For the moment it does not look worse then it was :P

    from playing a various amount of flash games (all in firefox) I saw that some games freeze if their window is switched to the background (time counters and enemy characters freeze), while other games just continue in the background.

    I understand the control change like "if my tank is turning leftwards at full speed, and I take my finger of the turn-tank-left button, the tank will take less time to finally stop turning". Less inertia. More precise steering. Very welcome, as since the rebalance most light and med tanks drive like drunken snails ;) I dislike the change of the battle fund assignment. To me it sounds like excelent players (or heavy drug users) get a even higher benefig in terms of crystals from the game. They were not complaining about beeing "underpaid" up to now and they already got better access to gear.. why change that? It sounds like very, very hard times for all less efficient players in terms of obtaining competitive equipment.. Putting a stronger focus on team relevant actions (flags, CPs, ...) is great; I understand the easy way of a crystal reward, but it will open the gap between good and less good players even more. Also it would be less prone to sabotage if the delivery of a flag is not valued by 50% of the score for the flag.. but far less. I dislike those campers in the own base, that get you blocked, killed by an enemy, and then deliver the flag instead of you. Points in relation to the transported meters are good enough to value each one's participation through out the whole delivery chain. There is no need for more points on the one that completes the last meters. I very much like the goldbox time thing.

    I pretty much agree in regards of M1 kits -> therefore I only talk about M2 and M3 kits in my posts (I still remember that one M1++ Smoky player that had the same online times as I did and liked the same maps. Hegave me hard times when I was still waiting for my M1 rail to unlock. .that was a tough cookie in his upgraded viking M1++. On the other hand I just had to switch some battles, and went others, and as the time went on the issue leveled out by itself. In the ideas section are some very good ideas about - having all M1s unlock at the same rank - limiting the amount of MUs you can apply to your gear by your rank as well Those two would really solve some issues, as the first idea (same unlock ranks) would make the balance between the M1s and the M2s easier; and the second one would help to limit the power-advantage that players can have vs each other. Buyers could still have the edge by allowing purchased gear to be unlocked +3 stages past the free players (or alike.. would have to be thought through a bit more.. but you get the idea).

    The point is that every player has access to the M2 and M3 kits without money. So yes, this is called balance :p example: ^ A perfectly balanced start-situation.. and a completely wrecked account B. Is it game balance that affects this, exactly this very certain case? Even chess (a very good example for a very well balanced game) feels unbalanced for the less skilled player makes mistakes and looses half of his figurines. -- (just in case you think I write all this because I am a mod > here are the things that I do not like (to keep the balance, you know ;) ) -> balance issues imho: 50% modules affect the turret choice very bad, supplies in general, light hulls lack agility (acceleration and turning speed), and xp/bp was better as 2 shots did the kill)

    That is perfectly true, because I did not write about you in particular; and not even about you in general. In your post you referred to a battle where a whole team was not up to the potential they could have in terms of equipment (without spending money). Very nice and clean profile btw ;) As explained, I had enough crystals for purchasing two M3 kits shortly one after another.. so I could have purchased one kit and MU it pretty much as well. And I would never call me a "pro".. on my main (legend 1 by that time) I was pretty much average in terms of skills. Nothing outstanding. So a lot of alt players can raid through battles with ease. But as I wrote.. I think this path is only accessible to players who play that game quite some time and know their ways around. Even players that are broke at WO1 and start from the scratch have a different mindset in their second try. The availability of kits is a bit of a problem.. but only for some ranks - then it starts to levels out again. Of course the game would be more balanced if this would not be the case - but if I would have to choose between those ways to monetizse the game: a- purchase moderate permanent power b- purchase moderate power where the others catch up pretty fast c- purchase temporary crazy amount of power (aka supplies) ..then I clearly preffer b. In the end this game is a business, and by that means a money whole for the buyers and a "free to ____" game for the non buyers. Besides of drugs most of the stuff here is more or less balanced - IMHO. So as said: I did not adress you, but the fact that while teams do not have that equipment. Yes, that's normal, yes that's not as good as it could be, and YES. that's a reason why this game is still for free.

    If we leave out drugs of the equation, I would say the problem is less the game (balance of power through the ranks) but more the inexperience and bad start of players. A player that starts the game fresh (never played TO before) will run short on crystals and lack the "optimum" gear possible for his rank because reasons like: - he saw someone use a turret deadly effective, so he purchases that turret just to notice that it was less the turret but more the skill. But the crystals are spent. - he microupgrades (upgrade sounds always good, doesn't it?) hoping for a free turret (because of the battle loading adverts) without an idea how the price for the MUs will explode - but the crystals are spent - he simply does not play as effective as a skilled and experienced person - he focuses on too many turrets and hulls, instead of playing with a very tiny amount of hulls and turret until he reaches M3 - does not plan ahead his equipment road to M3 (at least roughly) The hints are all here.. in the forum.. but most of the players do not even read the forum. So the game feels very balanced for experts that use their alt's and very hard for newcomers that made the "usual mistakes". I hope that the matchmaking system will solve make the situation better. There is the potential to put the teams together in a way, so that the balance of teams is not perfect, but very much more equal (this is also an alt of mine, and here I was able to purchase my 1st M3 kit (medic) at and a second M3 kit (Wasp/Rail M3) short thereafter. And I would not even have spent the crystals on the second kit, but the Wasp change made me lose my fun in playing Wasp M2 (slow, sluggish) so that I upgraded to M3 almost insantly after the balance update.

    without judging which updates are "good" or "bad" right here, I can at least be sure that Tanki Online is still alive as long I can come back to this place and read new account's names which sound like a request for return of the old Railgun ;) best regards ;)

    As far as I understood that idea, it is not about tough questions that would be worth to serve in a contest. It's maybe more about questions that are fairly easy to answer. the main advantage for the player is the chance to eary crystals; while the benefit for the game is that the players will continuously learn more and more. For an instance, a question could be Can admins drop gold boxes"? a-yes, b-no, never, c-only from their private gold box stock, d-... If you can hardly ever see the laser of a shaft player, is he a hacker?" a-yes, b-he hides the laser behind an obstacle Does the damage of a Striker rocket lowers with more distance?... ... ^useful things that help people to know their way around in the game better.

    Funny thing is that those missiles damage does not decrease over range, while thunders damage decreases to 50% rather quickly. With striker it all comes down on how well you can aim. If you have awesome aiming skills, it is great.. if not, then it's bad. Of course it helps to choose the right maps.
