    Drugs idea!

Thumbs down on this vacant notion. If it were so, many players would cease competing and simply wander about picking up boxes most of the time and doing nothing for their teams. This already occurs too much. Best regards. MD21

    DAMN!

Your acct. is compromised most likely by you sharing your PW. If someone could "figure it out" by knowing you "well," it was a poor PW choice. PW's are supposed to be difficult to surmise. Clearly someone else is using your acct. and spending your crystals. I've no help for that except to steer you to help@tankionline.com where you MIGHT get assistance. Best regards. MD21

    Slowly thrown out of Tankionline

No guarantees, but I believe it would help you to clear your browser cache. Also consider clearing Flash Player cache. Instructions for these steps can be found in the Forum using the search feature, your browser's help section and on the web. Also it may be worthwhile to try a different browser: Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox etc. Best regards. MadDog21

    Do you like Shaft?

I've not bought it, hence I've not tried it, but I like it lots. My affection for it is how tanks with it improve the environment making it target rich. I find it easy to defeat tanks with Shafts, and that includes having faced a couple already at M3. They hit hard, but they take so long to recover and charge it makes them favored targets. I they fail to obliterate in one shot, they are, generally, dead meat. There was lots of babble anticipating the Shaft. With the high appreciation for the folks who make and improve Tanki held in as high esteem as they are with me, in this they've fallen short. 'course like some here, I loath parking and plinking. I'll enjoy the rush of moving at speed and hitting hard with M3 turrets I already have. From what I observed, crystals are better spent on drugs. The druggers still captured the flags and got the higher K/D ratio, loathsome as they are. :D MadDog21

    Cool Dead Tank Glitch :D

Your lack of character, integrity and honor is despicable, youthfulness or otherwise. You failed to support your team and Mates. You constantly seek reach arounds. You have only three of the five letters of class. MD21

    Of morality and leisure.

I cannot speak authoritatively regarding Silence's absence, but I can reason. The Forum and chat have recently been thick with complaints, concerns and issues regarding Silence. Apparently, despite Tanki's yeoman efforts, Silence is hacked. Again, reasoning without certain knowing, Silence has been removed for "work." Personally, I don't care much for Silence finding far more equality in other maps of which there are many. But a potential lesson exists here. Folks who don't abide by Rules, complain. Yet, here and clearly, an example of what rule breakers do to the larger group of Tankers shines through. Because some elect to violate rules, to cheat, a map favored by many is out of action. There are good reasons for rules, and the community of Tanki is improved when more abide by them. When violators do their self-centered stuff, other Tankers suffer. Finally, this may be a fine time to investigate other maps of which there are many. Silence tends to be one-sided, favoring the top shelf team. Check out Bridges, Noise (A slight top side bias here, too.), Industrial Zone. Aww, shoot. No point in listing options. They're there for you who care to find them, and there are aplenty. When change occurs, adjust, and drive on! Good Tanking! MadDog21

    Happy birthday Tanki Online!

Happy 2nd birthday, Tanki, and special thanks to all the folks, Admin, Developers, Designers, Moderators and all else who strive to make Tanki the thoroughly enjoyable pastime it is. I joined around January, 2010, and I've found it to be the best leisure activity on the Internet. I became a chat and Forum Mod somewhere along the way, and I'm most pleased to strive to help Tanki be a pleasurable and safe environment for Tankers of all ages. The Tanki folks with whom I've communed are quality persons, and I greatly admire and respect their work and efforts. Rumors suggest that their creation outgrew their expectations, yet, still, they keep pressing the envelope to make this a most remarkable offering in the realm of browser based gaming setting standards and establishing the pace for multi-player browser based gaming in Cyberland. Good on yuh from an appreciative American gamer who looks forward to further growth and development. In Americanese, yuh done good. :) MadDog21

MAC OSX - The + does not work!!

I use MAC, too. In order to resize the playing window, use the combination of command and + to increase, command and - to decrease. MadDog21
  11. There is no "fast." Tanki's design employs a work ethic." Your work earns rewards and advancements. Enjoy developing, or eat a taco. They're gone pretty quickly. :D If it were easy and "fast," you'd not find it very rewarding. MadDog21
  12. I'll not close this thread, though following Mok's insightful and thorough remarks, little more of genuine worth could be said, at least said any better. I concur. If any of those who festoon the forum and chat with intolerant whining and castigating, I simply request you to show me your browser based efforts, so I may enjoy how much better your work must certainly be to lay criticism on the Tanki whiz's for what they endevor to achieve. Patience is a virtue, and this enables the impatient to develop theirs. Har! :-) MadDog21

Of passwords, "hacking" and remedies. (English)

I receive substantial pleas to fix what "hackers" are doing to "my account." Let's make some terms equally understandable. First, they aren't hackers, you haven't been hacked and the error with 99.9% probability is yours. It's against Tanki Rules to share PW's. Several reasons for this exist, but let's focus on this. "Hacking." Don't EVER share your PW. Never, never NEVER! When you share your PW you do it in the foolish belief that your "friend" will behave honorably. The is a "friend" you've never met, who has no genuine reason to be trustworthy whatever and no real interest on you or your welfare. If you know the word or mathematical concept of exponential, good. You'll get this. If you don't know, look it up. It works like this, and my words might seem harsh, but they're factual. You share/reveal your PW to a "friend." This is someone you never met, someone who has no investment in you and someone who may seem in type to be a "really nice person." It's really easy, far too easy, to lie. Some cultures even encourage becoming a good liar. In type, on the Internet, it's far easier to lie. Trusting someone whom you've never met is flat out foolish and stupid. Remember, I warned you about a harsh but factual tone. Say you "share" your PW. Your "trusted 'friend' " shares it with three others each of whom share it with five of their "friends." Get it? Soon your account is known to many, none of whom have any investment in you or cause for honor regarding you. DON'T SHARE YOUR PW! Here are your remedies. Log in so you can see the battle screens. In the upper right corner are 5 buttons, the middle of which looks somewhat like a machine gear, silver in color. Click it. Follow instructions for "Change password and email." Once you've succeeded in changing your PW, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER SHARE IT AGAIN. NOT EVER! If you're unable to change it, odds are one of your friends or one theirs changed it. In this case your only hope is to enlist the aid of the good and very busy folks who run and manage Tanki. Contact help@tankionline.com for assistance, and be patient. Since far too many fail to follow rules,, they get far more work than they ought. They will help . . ., eventually. Provide them all the detail you can: Date of "hack" or as near as you can get, e-mail address, game nick, nick(s) of whomever you know you shared it with. anything that might help EXCEPT your PW. If they need that, they'll ask. I wish you well in this. I know it can't be fun, but take from it a worthwhile lesson. DO NOT SHARE YOU PW WITH ANYONE ANYTIME! Best wishes. MadDog21
  15. I took a cursory peek at 2.0. Can't read Russian, so I did little, but I did note that the play screen is substantially smaller and the chat box substantially larger. This concerns me. I use a 30" monitor favoring the big view. I used to enjoy Dark Orbit, but they "versioned up," dramatically complicated the game (To enhance profit quite understandably.) and made it so I had to play small screen. I could do nothing to increase the size of the play screen. I didn't care for it, so I left three Golis,, two built to "elite" status, parked. (Building three accounts taught me the foolishness of multiple accounts. Expensive, limiting and time consuming mark three, hence I have one account on Tanki, as it will remain.) Everyone has preferences. Some will be met. Some will not. Wise to assess the game when it's released. I enjoy it presently; I hope to enjoy it in 2.0. I hold faith in the Tanki developers. I've found Tanki personnel to be smart, congenial, accommodating and quite creative. I leave my trust with them. MadDog21

I need to know what to use :)

This and related topics have been thoroughly discussed in the Forum. You should search, read and learn. Don't forget, experience teaches best. There are no "bests." Matching choice to specific maps, personal styles of play and general preferences will lead you to your preferences. That's the way most have gone. It will, ultimately, be your best way, too. please address this insult to tanki

Rottin is correct. For Mods/Admin to take action to punish a player screen shots must be provided. This isn't intended to doubt anyone's word. Simply, as in courts of law, evidence is required, else anyone could accuse anyone and bans would be applied unjustly and sometimes based on bias. When you find yourself in these circumstances, take a screenshot or a few. Send those to Admin or Mods, and action can, then, be taken. If you need to learn to take screenshots, check the Forum. It's searchable, and instruction shows there. MadDog21

    Moderator lamentations (English) ;-)

I was not bragging nor soliciting congrats. Thanks anyway, fsd. i was intending to attempt a short lesson, some teaching, in hopes that those who don't read (Har!) might catch a clue. I'm unsure it merits thanks, Sal. One thing I've learned about moderating is that it is lots of work. It'd be less if players followed pretty simple, clear rules. But! There are those I.Q and maturity issues which, sadly, will always be a part of cyber-play. "So it goes." [billy Pilgrim via Kurt Vonnegut] MadDog21

    Moderator lamentations (English) ;-)

I’ve just been “promoted” to Forum Moderator along with having cheered you up as a chat Mod. I extend my thanks to you who’ve whined, complained, caterwauled and wailed regarding my observance and requirement of players to observe Tanki rules. I’ll learn this job as I learned any I’ve accepted, but I felt it fit ‘n’ fair to bloviate a bit as my first foray into the forum as a Mod. First, foremost, the rules are available to every player for every account. When players sign on to Tanki,, they agree by presumed consent to those rules. Some Tankmen/women spend far more time attempting to circumvent rules and negotiate violations than to simply read and follow the rules. This is a fool’s enterprise, frankly. It earns no crystals, experience or respect. Do you play the game to advance and/or win, or are you here because it’s your only avenue to chat? If it’s to chat, there are better options with no rules in chat clients around cyberspace. Some think Mods exercise authority due to a Caesar complex, drunk with power and delighted to exercise prejudice. That’s foolish and wrong. Mods love the game, and most would rather play than moderate. However Mods want the game to continue as the creators intended. It’s to be a friendly environment for all ages who care to play. As for me, I take no pleasure in banning anyone. I’d prefer to see all enjoying themselves without interference from crudes, lewds and buffons. Paying to play supports the project and assures it will continue. Good for those who choose to pay! Paying, however, entitles none to violate rules. Also mods are moderated by Administrators, and they’re taken to task, even dismissed, if they fail to moderate in accord with Tanki rules. The English chat (American and English speaking folks) is burdened with profanity and vulgarity as well as violations that are plainly stupid. Flooding, for example, flies in the face of intent. You want persons to enter your match? Post that. Flood, and you earn a ban; your links are cleaned (removed) and you can’t make a game till your ban expires. How is this sensible? (Rhetorical question. It’s not sensible.) Likely you’ve no idea how often I receive PM’s and comments in chat from the many who appreciate what the Mods do. Good, honorable, mannerly and respectful players like the game to proceed civilly as the developers intend. If you’ve ever seen the film, “Roadhouse,” you may recall a conversation between Dalton, Swayze’s character, and the staff. He pointed out that nobody likes to head out for a good time and have to dodge thugs, bullies, bums and scumbags. People like to go where they can have a good time without thinking about having to fight their ways in or out of an establishment or endure what slobs bring to the moment. It’s the same thing in the net world, unless, of course, you’re a masochist, sadist or some other version of human twisty-tie. Well, folks, we intend to make and keep Tanki a civil place for all, any ages, to enjoy. Twisty-ties might search for their preferred garbage bag to which to attach. If one must roll in sewage, there’s always Skype and sites like that to use with no moderation at all. I earned the rank of Marshall before I ever considered being a Mod. I was never, ever banned, not once. Was that difficult? Hardly. It was appropriate for me as a guest in another group’s game. There exist, worldwide, rules of hospitality. Manners. Your time in the game will be far more enjoyable when you observe the rules then when you don’t. It won’t raise one objection from Mods or Admin, either. I promise. Play on! Play hard! Play fairly, and deport yourself like the man/woman you hope to become or are. Don’t? Well, societies have tickets, summonses, jails, penitentiaries and similar concepts for those “who don’t play well with others.” Tanki has the ban hammer, and Mods will apply it for those who simply can’t/won’t follow those simple, clear rules. MadDog21
  20. It's almost always frustrating to see evidence of such stupidity with due respect. Tanki has rules, one of which is to never, never, NEVER share PW's. This shows one of the many reasons for it. "Trusting" someone never met and expecting honorable deportment from another is foolish. Fools suffer. You'll receive no adjustment or compensation from Tanki. Own your error, and, hopefully, learn from it. Or honor Einstein's definition of insanity. Repeat the same action expecting different results. There will be no different result. Your grief will repeat. I'm sorry that you chose to violate rules made for the benefit of all and you. MadDog21

    Freeze, overpowered?

Interesting discussion, tennis match, badminton game. Back 'n' forth, to and fro. I think I see a theme. Any turret/tank that defeats me is "overpowered." Any combination I use is underpowered or just right. Creating and managing Tanki is a monstrous challenge. Add 2 million plus accounts with at least half crying and moaning about unfair bans, overpowered equipment and whatever complaints spawn in all these fertile and "fair-minded" brains, and it's amazing they get things done at all. But, they do. I appreciate discussion, but one thing that seems to be missing is the greater reality that developed skills and crafty strategies can offset any or most combinations and top ranked players. Every marshall pops and any player can pop 'em. I've seen lower ranked players top the finish list many times regardless of tank/turret/skin combinations. How? Learned skills and well conceived strategies. Oh! And, certainly, drugs for those addicted to them. The "No Supplies" battles are great learning grounds and fine opportunities to test one's mettle devoid of the rampant druggers. Enter those, save your own drug inventories and play the most fair matches available. You'll see some fine players using all manner of combinations. Mostly, enjoy yourselves. It's here for fun. What is blue sphere in garage?

The Russian whom I highly respect advises to read the description. I've degrees in English, Rhetoric and Theatre, and the description makes no sense to me at all. Were I to even consider plopping down that much, I'd expect a reasonably clear definition. There is none. Mysteries make fine novels. They don't make fine marketing. Respectfully, MadDog21

Tsunami Alert ( Please PRay For Them )

Prayers ascend. They'll continue. There's much loss and misery in this, and it's not the end of it I fear. Language In Lobby

If you've amassed a long list of bans and/or kicks, your chances to become a Mod are slim and none, and, presently, none's in the lead. You've not presented the sort of character needed to moderate if you've chronically ignored clearly stated, simple to follow rules yourself. I suggest you develop and nurture a different fantasy to decrease your frustrations and anxiety. Presently Mods aren't being solicited, but several candidates are "under construction." The Mod presence in English chats will increase, and all Mods are dedicated to maintaining an environment in the lobby and game chats that is civil, respectful and temperate. Of course this means attention will continue to be paid to abusive language: profanity, insult, swearing, cussing, scurving, dissing, slamming or whatever label you care to apply to it. Moderators and administrators strive to make Tanki friendly for all players, but, as with all things where member numbers are high, the real "enforcers" are all players. The game will get better as the numbers grow. The numbers will grow faster if Tanki's a good and safe place for enjoyment and pleasure. It won't grow if it's a place where vermin rule the "airwaves." Make it good and better. MadDog21

    Make A Training Match.

I suppose it's good that you're thinking, but I think this is a waste of thought. The matches are suitable training. Good grief! Any death promises resurrection. That'll do. MadDog21
