Multiple accounts: good or . . .?
MadDog21 replied to MadDog21 in Multiple accounts: good or . . .? Archive
There seem to be no limitations on numbers of accounts one can create and use. Personally, I don't understand the motive. I've all I can tend with one unless I do nothing but Tanki. Multiples provide drawbacks. They enable scoundrels and scalawags to pepper chat and matches with their intrusive, disruptive presence. They inflate the Tanki membership. Tanki is hardly in the million count if several players makes multiple accounts. They discourage genuine commitment of players to develop themselves in the game. They encourage efforts to hack, scam, cheat and so on. There are more, but I don't care to make this a typing exercise as much as I might need that. Why doesn't Tanki admin limit to, say, five accounts maximum per email address. Even with that and considering the capability to "own" several email addys, persons could still manage several accounts. Does this aspect of Tanki confound and frustrate only me? MadDog21 -
For "TheMan," note the date of this post. I missed whatever creative imaging you did regarding me. How sad. I'd say nothing to you to match what you are, but this entered my thoughts. You certainly think of me far more often than I think of you. Need a hobby? Har! MadDog21

St. E's photo is another matter. That's a Vulcan cannon which come in 20mm & 40mm, and, yes, it can handle armor rather impressively depending upon the warheads on the shells. Some are armor piercing. The rate of fire can be found on the net. They're sound inspires dread and awe once one's seen what they do which can also be seen via the net. That's a very bad time to be inside armor. :-) MadDog21

In "real life" a tank is impervious to "machine gun" fire including .50 cal. The gunships I flew fired 7.62 NATO rounds from mini guns up to 6000 round per minute for each of two. We also fired 2.75 inch folding fin aerial rockets. The most damage we might do to armor is to bust a tread, and that with a "lucky" shot. Reality is far more real to those who've experienced it opposed to chatted and surmised about it. Of aerial fire in Tanki, my knowledge of Flash programming is limited, but I'm certain aerial aspects added to the game would require as much work, server capacity and time than has been invested in the entire game to date. You aren't dreaming; you're fantasizing. :-) MadDog21

Virtues of time delayed sign-off.
MadDog21 replied to MadDog21 in Virtues of time delayed sign-off. Archive
Any good players will observe and exploit aspects of a game that are able to be exploited. One I've noted that seems easily corrected is the desperation to avoid being destroyed by signing out just prior to destruction. This deprives the winner of an encounter due kill count, saves the one about to pop from a "death" and exploits an illusory k/d ratio flaw. I don't know nearly enough about game development to know this would be simple, but, if it were, it would be a fine, fair addition to apply a pause time prior to sign out. One game I played which will go unnamed had a ten second or so countdown from the moment a sign off command was issued by a player to the moment said player's device left the contest. Such an application would substantially reduce the very real "cheat" of signing off instantly to avoid a certain "death." I'm hopeful developers read and consider this and, if as simple as it might be, adding it to what must be a mountain of ideas and wish-list items to modify/add. I remain most appreciative of an inventive, ingenious game that provides me pleasurable relaxation for approaching a year now. I very much admire and appreciate developer's work. MadDog21 -
In this "civil" dialogue I'm reading profanity even from admin & mods. What the heck is this?!? Aren't there Mods tasked to "clean" such garbage? It ought not be left here for universal perusal when it violates Rules and manners. Someone needs to get to work, and many need to practice civil discussion. Youngsters read the Forum, too. ADults offended by such garbage do as well, and I am one. Well? MadDog21

If name changing were free or cheap, the scalawags and cretins would do it constantly to evade recognition. We build reputations in real life. Same for our game life. We are known by the reputations we build, and I like that. You chose; stick with it. You are known. Deeds, not words. (Or nicknames. ;-) ) MadDog21

Contaminated exhorts, "surprise surprise, the guy who knows everything (besides his age) finally doesnt know something. well i think at the end of this super long update or maybe at the end of march..." Really? First I've heard of "knowing everything." If I did, I'd ask nothing. Right? Thanks for your speculation and barb, uncalled for as it is. Apparently you don't know either. I was hoping for someone who knew. MadDog21

I'm wondering how long we need to pursue "enemy christmas trees" which, thanks to the blinking lights and higher elevations, are far more obvious targets. Encourage return of flags. A carper might whine, also, about the gift wrapped bonus boxes, but that matters far less to me. It fails to impact game play, but the Christmas trees do that. Considering the slow hand, will we be playing in the snow till July? Simple man simply wondering. ;-) MadDog21

I, too, found fascination and amazement in these marathon games. Who on earth can spend that much time in a game?!? Welp! Me, once. I played a game that went ten hours. Admittedly the reward thrilled, but I still felt foolish withal. I got to the point where I coveted a server reset to save me from the loss quitting the game would've caused. It didn't reset. :( That's taking Tanki addiction to stunning levels, but whatever floats your boat, eh? MadDog21

My point was that inattention was, at least, as likely as the paint. I don't think the paint has particular camouflage benefits, and I know inattention is quite common. MadDog21

Some of you do far more begging and chatting than you do work within the game. I think some of you would think it proper to get bonuses when you fart. Gimme a break. Quite whining, and work! You'd be amazed how things add up when you work opposed to prattling and whining. MadDog21

St, E, that may have been due to his inattention, too. Dark? What the hoohah?!? You played FIVE hours, AND you have more than one account?!? Holy cow! The oft whined notion about getting a life comes to mind. Addicts aften are the last to know of their addiction. MadDog21

Firstly, kudos to you game designers and wizards. The scenery outside the game fields is really plush. Regretfully, I've been popped a few times for finding a high point to simply enjoy the view. Har! I do note that the snowbound shrubbery makes targeting visibility a new, greater challenge. That's good, too. Today while playing in Opposition, I was frozen and disconnected numerous times. Despite exercising learned options from the forum, I'm certain I lost assets. In one case, the gold box of random hope was a handful of points fromm falling. Always exciting, that, as folks hustle and mosh for the random chance at a great benefit. :D Of course this frustrates in addition to not being able to rejoin the battle from which I was dismissed. Also I "enjoyed" another "Speed hacking detected." Grumble. I suspect it's a great challenge tending all these items, but prior to dressing up the view it might be worthwhile to turn your fine minds to these matters of "known issues." Finally, while enjoying the new scenery et al, my anticipation for how 2.0 will look and play grows. Continue your fine work. You provide some genuine enjoyment; I appreciate it. MadDog21

I'd seen this done, but it was a mystery to me. Thanks much for the tip. I really appreciate knowing this. MadDog21

I use a MAC with the extended keyboard, and I had the same frustration months ago. Some good fellow advised the cure for which, I believe, one might search. Allow me to save you that search time. Delete and fn keys pressed simultaneously enables self destruct. I hope this helps. It's frustrating, indeed, to go upside down or in a ditch and have to leave the game due to not knowing how to self destruct. MadDog21

Goodness! Thanks for the kind remarks. I taught Language Arts for three decades, so I'd best write as I taught my charges to write. Who knows who might read my scribes? Har! Regarding attitude, there never exists a just reason to be rude. Manners lubricate interactions between folks, and they're especially critical when life is in type as it is in these games. Furthermore, I think western world dwellers owe an obligation to be good guests. After all, Tanki is a Russian game, and we westerners are guests. I preach less than I've a mind to realizing the best witness is by example. Thanks for confirming that such examples do show. Good hunting in the maps; I'll see you there when I play. You can improve your "breaking point," you know. Nobody can anger you without you giving your permission. I simply decline giving my permission. And the words we choose to communicate are our choices. MadDog21 Off topic but here goes: MadDog you are so concise and to the point as always. You have a nice flow in your ideas and everything bounds together in a pleasant way. I enjoyed reading your posts. I also saw your decent attitude in battles. I could not be like you, I admit. Not always. I have a breaking point :) Keep up the good work. You have gained my respect as a player of this game. Congrats. See ya!

"Pair up in threes." Kyuk yuk, yuk. MadDog21

It falls on the side of the building in the middle. On the ramp. On which side I cannot attest. Good hunting. You know it's mere chance to tag one. I've gotten 5 to 6, and it's random at best even with the fat bodies. MadDog21

Reaper and reason both start with R. Coincidence? I don't think so. Your approach to drugs is well reasoned, Reaper. MadDog21

Generosity appreciated here. Thank you. To the whiners, would you prefer lumps of coal or lumps on your noggins? Ingrates represent the classless part of any culture including that of Tank-men. I'm glad you are fewer rather than more. Again, thanks! MadDog21

Aside from vanity and fickleness, the primary reason for name change is to hide one's earned reputation. Were it cheap, you and other mischief makers and recalcitrants could handily bounce from one ID to another. This game is like life. You wear the label that represents your earned reputation. In my not-so-humble opinion, 5000 is far too cheap. I'd opt for 100,000. No worthwhile or honorable purpose for name changing exists. If you see one, teach me. MadDog21

I have no "cheat engine." Furthermore I wouldn't use one if I knew how. It's not my way. MadDog21
