Just happened again. Irritation? Perhaps that should be the new Tanki name. :-))) MadDog21

    "Speed hacking detected."

For a second time I've been dismissed from a game with this information box showing. I have no idea what speed hacking, maybe it was time hacking or speed time hacking, is, nor have I done anything out of the ordinary to earn such a frustration. I'd appreciate knowing what it is and how to avoid dismissal while playing, hence losing earned points and awards. I was advised to send this in to the appropriate admins by a moderator. I did that over two weeks ago; I've heard nothing from them regarding the disposition of my inquiry or this PITA (Pain in the ***) :-) So! I post here in hopes of getting information from someone who knows. If you are merely a speculator, please don't address this inquiry wasting my time and yours. Thank you. MadDog21

Loathsome deserters, parkers, prevaricators and punks.

I haven't whined for a while. I shall. I'm sure tactics get discussed directly or in sidebars, but I've a couple observations I wish to make. I shall. All "games" reveal character; some build it. I note too frequently that, when the tide seems to turn against a team, the deserters hit the road. Apparently they have little to no faith in their team's ability to turn the tide or in their own potential. I know profiteers and greedy ones will whine their defense. "Why should I stay if I won't earn the greatest rewards?" You started the game. Man up, and finish it you pathetic puke! Parkers who enter a game, then sit still and inactively thereby taking up a position another might play are lower than whale feces. If you don't care to play the game, leave so your space may be provided for someone with a warrior's heart rather than the black, bleak soul of a mercenary coward. Prevaricators and punks seem to enjoy a couple "new strategies." When losing a one-on-one in a place that offers a fall, a self-destruct, take that, thereby robbing your opponent of a righteous kill. This shows in flag etiquette, too. Taking a flag, then going over slows play, steals potential scores and marks cowardly character. Often I enter games on the weak side to lend a hand. Too often I see lopsided numbers severely exploit the weaker team. I've entered games where nothing's going on. Upon inquiring I learn that the larger team awaits the smaller team's increase in numbers. That's admirable rare character for one example. I respect it. I'm sure others have complaints regarding player deportment. Be clear on this. How one plays speaks volumes about how one is. If one claims to be or hopes to become a man to be respected, one's conduct ought to reflect that. Best wishes. :D MadDog21

    1 Tip for chat.

You say you "love spamming there," and then you offer advice regarding spamming. I'd hardly care for advice from someone who loves to spam. Tend the log in your own eye before tending the splinter in another's. MadDog21

    Hacker-Nefurtun

Sorry to salt your wound, but for the benefit of others who may read this thread, there is no, absolutely NO, reason to share one's PW. Both of you did out of greed, lust and laziness, perhaps ignorance as well. There's a cost for such stupidity, and you're fortunate you didn't pay it as your friend did. To reiterate, there exists no honorable or sensible reason to share your PW. Doing it puts you at great risk for your account. Further, to ask Tanki to correct this in some fashion is silly. Why should Tanki defend or compensate for such foolishness? You screwed up; it's to you to wear the weight of your error and, hopefully, learn from it for the future. MadDog21
  7. I'm a retired English/Language Arts teacher who'd be glad to assist in maintaining decorum. Unfortunately I don't speak/write Russian, and I'm led to believe the ban commands require Russian competency. I DON'T HAVE THAT. Also I contend that five minute and hour bans are impotent, pointless. Folks who abuse language decorum know very well what they're doing. The "punishments" ought to be more severe. I assume the admins/mods of Tanki wish to make it inviting to grow their members, but failing to guard against abusive language threatens to reduce rather than increase membership, particularly among moral, mannerly persons and/or their parents if they're kidlets. If you admin/mods wish to utilize my assistance, you can advise. MadDog21

    Drug user

If you deal with people, especially from various cultures, and you expect not to be annoyed, you better become a hermit. Each can control the behavior of one. Knowing that and who is that one is the trick to good living. Start early. ;-) MadDog21
  9. Twits and children who wish to pretend they're men favor coarse language. Talk through monitors from safe distances provides insulated safety from what might happen in face time were one to speak so rudely. Vocabulary remains a strong indicator of intelligence and maturity. Enjoy the advantage of vulgar players showing so clearly who and what they are. :D MadDog21

    Drug user

"Drugs," more appropriately boosts, make the playing field tilt dramatically in favor of those who use them. They are part of the game . . ., if one has them. I don't care for them particularly preferring to develop and appreciate the skill in play without them, but as Pin advises, you've every right to use them. At least they're "legal cheats" rather than the hacks used by some nefarious dolts. MadDog21

    Of refunds & adjustments.

An alert shows upon sigh-in. I think it said Monday is the refund day. MadDog21

    Of refunds & adjustments.

I'd bought the M2 level Ricochet. It was "adjusted;" I received refund. I did not buy Freeze or re-buy Richochet, but encountering Freeze frustrated the heck out of me. Not being a fan of vanity, hence a fan of paints/skins/armor, I'd not bought any till the Freeze frustrated me enough that I bought the Sandstone simply to even the encounters with Freeze a bit. Now Freeze is undergoing an adjustment/refund. I'm sure it'd be a real headache, but I'd like the option to refund my Sandstone. There are other skins I'd prefer considering the rebalancing of Freeze. Now that Freeze will be less crippling, I'd choose one of them. I can ill afford to buy several skins willy-nilly. The point of my rant is that this process of adjusting weapons when imbalances are determined also impacts expenditure on skins to counter those. Doubting that I'll see it, still I wish admin. might consider refund of specific skins purchased when those adjusted weapons were the prod to buy skins specific to their threats. In the US, wishing and a dollar gets you a cup of coffee with refills. I don't really expect more in Tanki, but wishful thinking is still thinking. Har! MadDog21

What do you know about Russia and Russians?

Somewhat interesting, this topic turned. A couple fatuous remarks like not wanting to discuss Russia with Russians. Doh! Where better to learn of Russia?!? I particularly like Dicaearchus's remarks. Cogent, insightful and thorough while brief. Good on you! I'd enjoy some table and beverage time with you, Mate. Too bad there's all that distance. :-) MadDog21

    Ignoble, dastardly, poltroons.

I enjoy your diction and agree with your premise. There are some folks who play honorably. I was surprised in a couple matches when my team ceased flagging and popping. I made inquiry. They opined that the odds were unfair urging wait time till the solo opponent gained Mates. I respected that immensely; I conformed. Such is not, however, the common case. I will do as they did when Mates go along. It's the right thing to do. MadDog21

    Freeze's rebalance

Concur with Mr. Olmsted as I did with his initial, insightful post regarding Freeze. I wonder, however, if they'll adjust pricing for Ricochet and Freeze. Bot are way overpriced for their current configurations. MadDog21

What do you know about Russia and Russians?

Russia is vast even since the fall of the USSR. It's a beauty, and people are similar around the world. Some are good; some aren't. I admire their historical stands against the Nazi Socialists and mourn their own tilt toward socialism as communism. I have friends in the US originally from Ukraine, Bosnia Herzegovina and Minsk. Not Russian, really, but cut form similar cloth, I cherish them, enjoy their hospitality and humor and return in kind. In Tanki, Russians are ones from whom to learn well. In face time, I've met very few persons from outside the US with whom I couldn't get along. In the US we suffer our share of scumbags. It's the same all ver except for geography and some customs. I don't care for vodka, but I'll enjoy my martini with those who cherish their Stolies. ;-) MadDog21

    BIG game frustrations.

I've noticed, particularly in the early evening in the US, the number of options for games is slight. This marks logic considering time differentials and fewer players on the server. Sleep is, after all, essential. :-) My frustration rests in the options of games generally being large, long commitment games. When time permits, I enjoy these. The profit potential appeals to me. However, folks who create these games place no time limits. Upon entering one, if you don't or can't play through the game's duration, you suffer the loss of any earned rewards. I don't think it's the obligation of admin. to tend this, but, to me, sense suggests that time limits would be more than less preferred. Nothing wrong with a long game, but 999 flags? Holy cow! Who has half a day to play that through. Surely not someone with a life. There. A simple rant, but I feel much better now. Har! MadDog21
  18. Of note, Mates, paints/skins are "armor." Simply they are select armor which wants variation depending upon the prevalence of specific weapons in different maps. This is very smart on the part of developers. For example, if you care to play Island, you better paint with one that has high resistance to Freeze. Play one of the more wide open maps, protection against Rails, Thunder and Ricochet help. Result? The well equipped tanker will want to acquire more skins for greater adaptability. More skins equal more purchases whether you pay cash or earned crystals. I admire good reasoning, and Tanki admin reason pretty well considering they'd like to be paid for their fine, diligent work. New Weapon Missile Launcher

Yuh. And, there should be some magic fairy dust you could sprinkle and win all the open games, get all the awards and be immediately promoted to Marshall and get a Bugatti Veryon Sport and get a kazillion dollars and a personal harem and . . .. There is what is. Master that. Wishing is for weenies. :-))) MadDog21

USING THE SERVER UPDATE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!!

Perhaps a worthwhile tip, but it prodded a protest. Players leaving a game when it looks like their team won't win are simply quitters. Stay the course, and change the outcome. Quitters reveal character flaws best kept private. ;-) Play relentlessly; it builds character. MadDog21

    How To Get Crystals Easily

I concur with adventis and add this. You can chase crystals in the game, or you can get in the fight, score and see your team win assisted by your activities. Then you win far more crystals when you assist your team in winning. Also of note and certainly to be ignored by most, particularly self-centered egotists, when you chase crystals, your movements become erratic thus disrupting the CTF efforts of your teammates. Were players to pursue flags with enthusiasm equal to their crystal pursuits, they'd earn more through team wins. CTF (Capture the Flag) is a team game you know. To remind us of that great philosopher, Yoda, ( :-))) ) "Do, or do not. There is no try." MadDog21
