Teams with heavy hulls and the long range alts can keep suppressing fire laid down for a long, long time. By the time I get across the battle field I have either used a RK or am severely damaged. They can be formidable...I wish I was good with the magnum, because they can really keep twins from camping and dominating on the larger boards.
-
I keep seeing the description of the OD for each hull, but haven't experienced any of them yet. I am assuming they are only on TX...is that a correct assumption?
-
Completely agree with you!
-
It may get nerfed by then:)
-
I score very nicely (top-4) w/m4 titan and m3+ vulcan. It is a unique turret that is fun to use and effective on team battles. I'd buy it again even with the afterburn.
-
I am assuming you haven't rented the alterations yet. Twins is usually an easy to play turret. Honestly it has been fairly simple to rank in top 4 in most games with it. I don't like playing with it...prefer Thunder, Shaft, Rico, Vulcan, Isida, and Smoky...that said I hate facing them on most boards.
-
Wow...that's impressive shaft-skills! I noticed you seem to have shifted from mammy to titan. Is that your main combo now...titan-shaft? How do you like it?
-
Roger that:(

Since the buff and thanks for the buff of other turrets, there are less protections now. I have begun using my m4 again. Just got a triple kill in two different battles last night. In the last few days I have had no more than 3 enemies sporting thunder protection. It is a lot of fun to use with the expanded splash damage.
-
It really isn't too bad if you keep within the normal operating time of the turret.
-
I was a hornet, hunter (before the changes) for a long time. I couldn't stand Titan or Mammy. Once I started facing m3 and m4 turrets, I got sick of getting knocked around like a dandelion in the wind:) I also got sick of being one shot by shaft, rail, magnum, thunder... That drove me toward the Titan. It is really solid with thunder, rico, twins (what turret isn't), shaft, vulcan, and smoky...even isida and freeze in a defense roll. I relate to the feeling of being S-L-O-W...it certainly wasn't my first second or third choice, but today in most battles it is Titan or Hunter.
-
Titan, while faster, is actually inferior in weight, power, etc. If you need to cap a flag that is being defended by a medium or heavy hull or defend a point the Mammy is the BEST hull period. The Titan is a more versatile hull due to its speed, but it is NOT categorically dominant over mammy in every way. I have both and use both some. My game fits Titan better, but there are situations I wish I had the mammy.

True...the alt really moves the hammer into a more functional mid-range turret. IF (and only if) you wanted a bit more range and were willing to sacrifice the spread, the alt is for you. On maps like highways it is great.
-
Just finished a control point game...other team had 6 (six) firebirds:) Needless to say it was meltdown madness...we lost
-
Ah, I didn't really start using it until I had thunder, rico, isida at almost m4. So I jumped into the vulcan world at m3 too:) Felt like adding it would give a different game play and I was right. It is as fun to use as rico, but harder to master IMO. Timing is very important w/spin ups and spin downs and not having a single devastating damage shot (like shaft, rail, thunder). So you have to play smarter against teams that can out gun you toe-to-toe. Also it goes without saying that short range engagements are a big challenge. That's why the titan is better IMO than mammoth for this turret. At least the titan can circle with a little speed and keep the damage flowing:)
-
Do you use either of the alts on the vulcan? If so what are your thoughts of them? Are they of any use? Thanks...
-
That seems a little worse than what I'm experiencing. What mu is your Fox M3?
-
Yes, it doesn't happen every time....haven't figured out the "why" yet, but it costs not only a death but a loss of a kill too. I get enough self destructs with the turret as it:)
-
Usually I do. In those battles i didn't have it...bad decision (I know) Titan is the best friend of my vulcan for sure!
-
I wouldn't argue at that increase at all...but it would make it too OP for a month for sure:) I can only imagine how it would rip apart enemy defenses when overdrive is engaged...that would be a ton of fun:) By the way, I had checked out your profile and didn't see much vulcan use. I am assuming you have more than one account. Do you enjoy using Vulcan or just notice the bug?
-
I just finished a few battles and the afterburn was brutal. One problem for me is I am trying to master the vulcan (which can create its own heat if not used properly)...so combine my own overheating with the afterburn of the firebird and my titan melts in 2 seconds:(
-
I just noticed that lack of protection. I always use rail and thunder (protections) since either turret can one shot you usually without protection. Were there any other thunders on your team? If not, that is probably why.
-
Are you talking about all the times I spawn and immediately start overheating? That is incredibly annoying:) Of course, a buff would be welcomed...either a 5% DMG buff or a 10% increase in shooting before overheating
-
Obviously the other team didn't have a shaft:)
-
If they do this, then restore the points for healing. Right now the damage fits with the scoring system. Nerfing its damage would punish Isida users too much IMO. I certainly hope not. I usually do not extend my shooting spree beyond the limit to avoid self damage. Periodically I take eye off the bar and end up slightly over heating. Whenever that happens you lose both a kill and the 10 points for Self destruction. Please don't increase the burn effect.
