    No doubt...after lots of attempts at using this turret...it is officially wrecked. Can't believe they trashed it. All they needed to do was increase DPS by 25% and it probably could have been a more balanced turret...the spin up/down, coupled with ridiculously slow turret while firing and the overheating on steroids makes it the WORST turret out there. It was a nerf!!! Can't believe it. Highly disappointing.

    The rocking is both a positive and negative. I have found that when fighting turrets with strong impact that are lower than I am (i.e., coming up a ramp), the Hunter is far more susceptible to getting lifted up and often backwards therefore rendering your turret useless. This is not a big deal normally, I just discovered it in a few battles. A nicely planted land mine has proven highly effective in the moment:)
  3. You have to now be a psychic to play successfully with the Vulcan...predict accurately the enemy around the corner or die before one bullet leaves your slowly spinning barrells:( :wacko: I think it is closer to 4.5 to 5...almost unusable.

    Yes, thanks for the correction! You are right. That is exactly what is going on. Your assessment of the Alt is what i feared...it's why I haven't spent the crystals yet. Just seems a bad trade off.

    I am not a fan of the newest nerf. I was stating the damage of the arcade shot from about a year ago was understandable. The most recent nerf is ridiculous in my opinion. So I agree with you. It was a fun turret to play with and rarely did I top the charts with it. You can look at my profile and see which turrets are easiest to get XP with (ahem...thunder, twins, rico, isida) and which are harder to get XP with (shaft, vulcan, and the old freeze). While my turret isn't m4, it is m3 (19/20). That is what most all of my turrets are:) I would love to see the arcade shots return to a more realistic level. I hit a tank 2-3 times out of 2-3 shots and did a whopping total of 40 points damage. This is at distance...it should at least perform as well as smoky at that range. It takes the same skill to shoot it.
  7. Right now that number has no meaning to me. Is there a formula so that we have a better understanding of it. I noticed when in battle and I hit the R or V keys, I no longer could see the MU level of turret, hull, etc. That was very helpful for me in deciding if I could go toe-to-toe with another tank or not. Is there another way to see the MU level of a tank? What goes into the rating system? Fairly confused on how this new feature is an improvement. BUT I am open to learning. Thanks!
  8. 1) I agree with your assessment. As before (but even more now) you should never move from cover until you are shooting...3-4 seconds spin up instead if 1-1.5 seconds... 2) The extended shooting time is huge...I killed 3 tanks (lower ranks) w/DD going strong before hitting overheat:) Never have done that before. 3) With the turret drastically slowing up on shooting you must learn to rotate turret and hull at same time...it will work. I just did it. Not pretty at all, but I survived a circling freeze regardless. I have been finishing nicely in all battles this evening. Fun stuff! Over 2k crystals on the last battle

    I just compared my Vulcan (m3+) stats before and after the buff. There is NO difference according to the stats on turret rotation. I have included two screen shots to show...Note I had an MU occur between last night and today, but compare the upgraded values with the current for apples to apples comparison. [i was unsuccessful in uploading files...never have done it before on this forum]

    I was used to circling and shooting in medium and close range...that is not really an option. I was unaware that the turret rotation was decreased. Also the lag on spin up surprised me...I am having to adapt my shoot for 5 seconds and release then repeat... Still did well in battles...shredded some heavy hulls at quite a distance. They were definitely unaware of the speed a Vulcan can lay out damage.

    Do you have either alt for the Vulcan? If so, what do you think? I have mine close to M4 and love playing with it...in spite of the low dps and afterburn. Totally excited to see how this will change game play with it:) Good luck to you!!!

    I feel like a rag doll...especially if I have a flag and am getting pummeled...almost impossible to navigate under fire. I also am aware that my skills are probably worse than most...At lower levels, I loved it and hornet. Then as I faced more m3 turrets...my hornet would be 3 shot by ricos, one shot by thunders, rails, shafts, etc. I hated it. Started using Viking and modded it to m4. Still got knocked around. I do use my m3 (11/20) hunter and enjoy using it. I just am short on HP by 130ish...It is already able to push around Titans in battle:) I love its power. It rocks a bit, but it also means I can reach more enemies on boards like Highways and such.

    Control points is where I get frustrated most with Titan. I barely miss every control point. I will kill the enemy, my teammates will race to the empty control point and by the time I arrive it is too late:( Therefore I get kills but very few XP. I'll confess until I get my Hunter closer to m4 I will contrinue using Titan m4. My Viking m4 is collecting dust since it became the unstable, drunken sailer hull under fire.

    It definitely rocks a lot more than titan...you'll notice it on thunder, rail, hammer. It doesn't ruin it, but be aware you will need to settle before follow up shots when you are being hit (like by Rico). It is much better than Viking and all the small hulls! Titan is just super smooth and easy to hit follow up shots while moving under fire.

    No doubt. When they first buffed the arcade shot (maybe a year ago) it was WAY OP. I would deal almost 850 dp across the board w/arcade. That meant I would hit a heavy hull with scope shot and a second later finish them off with an arcade shot. Way too easy. They then reduced the damage based on distance, but it still was serviceable...scope + 2-3 arcade shots knocked out tanks on large boards across the distance. Well, not any more...it makes it very hard to keep enemy at bay. Sure up close it still hits with some sting, but compared to almost any turret it is an automatic death...It hasn't been OP for a long time. Not sure why the nerf was seen as needed.

    Agreed, unless enemy is hiding in proximity to walls, towers, etc. Then the splash damage from a full assault of striker is ridiculously easy compared to any other turret.

    Good to hear...now that I have enough playing time under the belt with the new afterburn effect it is MUCH worse on Vulcan than I thought. I normally shoot in 5 second bursts, but if you go over 6...half your health (titan m4) is over within a few second...makes it very hard to use in many games.

    I use the keyboard (my set up doesn't work well with mouse controls), but have been successful (IMO) with it. I am not a huge camper. I do have the heavy capacitor alt. In higher ranks I find that I rarely charge it all the way up however. I prefer to deliver faster shots (50-75% charge) with no laser visible. Pick up a DD and you will wreck a defense on CTF. After each shot I survey the field to notice who has "noticed" me and decided to burn, freeze, or hammer my back side...Whoever that is I deal with them and then back to scope. As others have said, when your laser is on, hide it behind nearby obstacles/barriers so it isn't seen as easily. If you camp much you will get hunted down. Also let mines be your friend. I try to lay them strategically every time the cool down period is over.
