A Rico player told me the turret turns slowly so many player have trouble using it. Well learn it and fight better. I know when I am fighting a Rico and I see the turret turn I am up against the better breed of player. Yes, AA cost you the critical hit. But the Critical hit does not add that much at ranges under 70. I like fighting at ranges under 7. :) At short range the Crit gives you something like a 9% bump over a normal hit?? (Been awhile since I looked at the exact numbers.) It is only at longer ranges that the crit gives a big (~30%) boost. So with AA I do not shoot at really long ranges much. When I do it is to throw off a shot or more likely to make an enemy have trouble driving. In exchange it is not at all uncommon for me to emerge from a whites-of-their-eyes slugfest taking very little even no damage at all. Or at least live through it. If Cry are not a problem buy it. It is worth 50k if you are going to be a Smoky driver. But if Cry do not grow on trees wait for the next sake and buy it. Oh oi forgot one part abut the need for good aim. You need to always always always aim for a corner of the enemy tank or tops of their turrets. It is not enough to just hut them you have to hit them where the effect is greatest. I also use the nimble Viking which helps my dodging and strafing. The other alteration I am glad I have it, It is nice in some situations and longer ranges, But that slow rate of fire. Uhg. Well hope that helps. Load 'em up and send 'em downrange!

I made the same observation awhile ago. Splish splash or you'll be taking a bath.

^^^^ omarhero1 ^^^^ I agree. Thank goodness so many Rico players* do not know how to turn their hull or else it'd even be worse. (* at least at my rank level) It has probably been 6 weeks or so since I used anything but Assault Ammo with my Smokys. The big impact is the only reason it is still viable. Every satisfying to bounce a no-turret-turn Rico to and fro as it vainly tried to land a shot. Just never miss. Ever. That combined with mad driving skilz that is. So Assault ammo, perfect aim, superior driving skill and you can still win with Smoky. :)

Valid Lower healing rate when Isida heals another Isida

This proposal has the advantage of being simple and applies to all healed tank types equally. Except ... how to define a tank under fire? With a Firebird this is relatively easy but with a Shaft? A magnum? -
Valid Lower healing rate when Isida heals another Isida
LittleWillie replied to BlackWasp777 in Ideas and Suggestions
2 second delay while I am in combat? Just be merciful and delete Isida frm the game instead of that. I guess non-Isida users think the way to play an Isida is to find a Vulcan then put a hand on the space bar and the other hand on well let's just say it has to be dropped before grabbing your socks. But in play I do actual different things! Sometime I save my teammate by lealing him while he is under fire. Sometimes I save him by helping him kill the enemy. Other time I save him ny healing him a little then attacking as well, then healing him back after the foe is dead. Other times I am might go to heal a friend but my beam touches on the enemy for a second because they are so close. If this ever happens with a 2 second delay I am screwed. Let's just put this and all other balancing topics to bed until we see what is what with 7 ODs in the game. -
What causes lag on TO? Tanki Online.

if you like them/are skilled with them both the same Rico is more powerful.

So I see there was only one video submitted this time.

Valid Lower healing rate when Isida heals another Isida
LittleWillie replied to BlackWasp777 in Ideas and Suggestions
Maps. Two Isidas on an Island team mean one powerful team. Two Isidas on Desert are a different story. When it comes to design I do not much like the approach to make a turret work differently when used on one specific turret or hull or whatever. If there is a problem that cannot be overcome regardless of tactics then use a better fix than this speciual cae type approach. IF there is a real problem. But since we are about to be hit with Matchmaking and 6 new OD systems it would be the height of folly to attempt a rebalancing right now. Fortunately the TO devs are simply too busy with eeh new additions to take up this call for the 4th or 5th major Isida redesign in a 12 month period. If we are liucky they will let ther new system run for months before they try another round of re-balancing re-designs. -
Stopped running my Striker account last week. Got my weekly missions reward for my Smoky/Shaft account. As of today I stop playing it. With what remains I play 1 mission / day then quit. Stumbled across Realpolitiks yesterday. It isn't vehicle combat but it is amazingly deep. Civilization meets Axis and Allies meets Diplomacy! Thanks to the summer tripled mission rewards I will have about 1,000RKs and 3,000 of the other supplies saved up. I can pop in to play Tanki for months or yeas w/o doing another mission., Because popping in will be about all I play after August and the "Magnificent Seven Overdrives" go live.

You are right. Save your money. The m1 alteration is a Noob Crutch. It is for people who cannot point their turrets. For anyone who can turn a turret the m1 alteration is a self-inflicted nerf. The m2 alteration is decent is intent rotten in implementation. As ahealer my job is to keep my teammates alive longer. One way to do this is to help kill the enemy. Often that is the best way to save your teammate. Then with the enemy dead you heal you team mate back to full. But not ig you have self-nerfed yourself by buying the m2 alteration. Then you are a 1-trick pony.

Unless you want a Striker or Magnum kit. Those are cash-only. --------------- MatchmakingL If I can cluck on a button and get a good competetive game then I can live wihth it. But the map aspect does not have me confident. Some maps I just refuse to play on, like Lost Temple. AS BW777 says plaers will jquit some maps and look for a different game. That might lead to some long wait times. And if so things do not bode well...

Of course but the closer you hit the more splash damage. Also sometimes you have to hit the part that's visible or else there nothing to splash off of. However that is not really the point. The point is: it is fun to be able to score a bull-s-eye especially at extreme range. Especially with Striker who many people say can't hit the broad side of a barn. ;)
-
I think the splash damage concpt itself is a bit OP as-is in Tanki. Striker itself, you have to be a pretty good shot with single missiles. If you are it is pretty damn powerful. Few things in Tanki are more satisfying that hitting a sliver of an enemy peaking around the corner all the way across the map. :)

There's no reason now not to MU your hull and turret to 10/10 as rapidly as you can afford. MU it up and trade it in when you rank. Save the kit buying for LtGen and up to aquire 2nd, 3rd etc hulls and turrets. Last week I stopped playing my Striker account. I like Striker but it is my least-developed account and the game is more often frustrating than fun. But custom battles only that is an idea. By the time this 7-OD system is in place I'll have close to 3,000 each Supply from the tripled missions. So I can coast for moths w/o needing to do more missions. Then fini. Though in reality once you start to walk away from a game you soon start jogging, then sprinting. . . .

Today doing my missions I saw star after star after star floating above team mates as we staggered along to blowout defeat. There are simply no legitimate reasons to see stars go unused in a huge number of situations. Literally 5 teammates around ... no use. A guy drives into enemy fire and dies to a rail instead of powering up himself and my Isida waiting to help. People "Saving" their star when there's 40 seconds left in the game. Clear-cur situationone after the other. So the only answer to this topic is: Vast numbers of Tanki players are simply poorly--skilled gamers.

Valid Lower healing rate when Isida heals another Isida
LittleWillie replied to BlackWasp777 in Ideas and Suggestions
I do! First prove a root-cause problem exists before the devs starts messing with something. As I and other have pointed out, the root cause could be and probably is noobism. The devs just dropped an OD system into the game and 6 more are pending. Players have not learned how to play under a 1-OD system ,much less w/6 more. It would be utter folly to screw with turret parameters now when teh status quo will not last ore than a couple weeks. SMH. There is a simple reposte to this: It is utter BS. if you have two tanks firing at one Isida as a pair it is the same exact mathmatical situation as if your two tanks were firing on the Rail in a an Isida/Rail pair. Are Rails impossible to kill in this situation? No they aren't are they? !00%. B. S. Bravo! The last thing this game needs at the moment is another round of parameter ping-pong. Given the slow learning curve for so many Tanki-ers there has best pass a few months before any balance decisions are made. -
Valid Lower healing rate when Isida heals another Isida
LittleWillie replied to BlackWasp777 in Ideas and Suggestions
CONTEXT! I just did my daily missions and guess what? All but one battle was a lopsided blowout for the other team. The exception was a lopsided blowout for my team. I had a 26/2 k/d w/Smoky in that one. So that's not an Isida. In all the games the All-Star Noob Team I was on we were utterly blown out - helpless. And not a single one of those game featured an "Isida Pacl". CONTEXT! We have all played games that turned into a blowout. Some of those feature Isida packs others feature different lopsided performers. Just because someone saw an Isida pack blowout that does not mean this happens more often other types of blowouts. Or perhaps the reason the Isida pack seemed so powerful is because your team was just so bad? I see bad teams all the time., I see Isida packs now and then. -
Stopping power? Armor? Weight? Acceleration? Sounds like you mean acceleraation or maybe weight?

FAvorite turrets might not change but favorite hulls will. The hulls are too close in terms of paramerters, as compared to the big differences between OD types. Or rather that is the central point to what is after all only a prediction. If TO manage t balance out the ODs then favorite hulls might noichange as much. I just do not think 6 new OD powers can be introdiced at once and get them all equally appealing.

Review [Special] Deconstructed: The All-New Repair Kit
LittleWillie replied to Hex in Newspaper Archive
This is a HORRIBLE article. This is not about the changes to the RK., It is an opinion piece on the patch. Opinions and future predictions are presented as fact. The author assumes everyone plays TO the exact same way he does. What facts are in there are wrong. The old RK did not heal 200 HP for 2 seconds. That's only 400 HP total. Capturing a flag is impossible now? Wow. The blind leading the blind. If you cannot imagine new approaches to the game why to you presume to write an article to "educate" the gaming community? "The changes to Smart Cooldowns dont need comment". In an article like this, yes they do. More facts, not opinion. -
That's why I use my Vulcan on a Wasp. Most times I get to decide the distance. And often I chose the in-your-face range. Players are not used to fighting Wasp/Vulcan at Firebird ranges. It's surprisingly effective though very unstable combination. :)
-
That is why I use a 35% Striker module (2LT). Come to point blank range; I don't care. I can kill 2-3 gnats before I go down. :)
-
There will not a be a "long debate" on the Overdrives. A few will be obviously more useful more often. Players will deem these OD "uber" and most players will flock to them. I have seen this dynamic in game after game after game - including Tanki Online. So there will not be a debate. What will happen is you will enter a battle and see 2-3 hull types account for 90% of the tanks .. battle after battle. Just llike you saw a buttload of Isidas in the 50% self-heal days then saw almost none of them a week after self-heal was driven down to 10%. Most players follow the herd. Exactly what I was trying to say. Well here I disagree. I do not like the slowness of Dictator but I can tell you as an Assault Ammo Smoky user that hull is almost immune to impact effects. And iof course it has that high mount if you are into that sort of thing. I don't know why you'd diss Hornet. It's fast and stable. With Isida there is no recoil so it's a pure driving machine. I am talking "wow, How Did I Do that?" driving machine. Now compared to Wasp with vulcan, I am always I mean always just on the verge of contoll with that combo. I die from self-destructs usually plural times / battle. I suspect Vucan would be happier on a Hornet. But the speed is just so damn fun. As for mammoth - for me Titan is a better tank all around. Mamoth is heavy so Assault Ammo does not have a big effect unless from certain angles. I thnk dictator might be more resistant to impact overall though. Titan is slow but still just nimble enough to mix it up at short ranges. But for some people they like Mammoth's forward-mounted turret.

And the harm of the devs checking to see if you are right or wrong would be? ? ? So why not just let them look into it, eh?
