    BIG SALES for Tanker’s Day!

Just finished 2 battles over 1 hour after server re-set. Both shut-outs... 8 vs 5 & 8 vs 6. MatchMaker is just useless.

    Let's Discuss Matchmaking

Just finished another CTF battle where other team won 5-0. Was 8 vs 5 ENTIRE battle. FIX THIS!

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

    2) Not at all. I know Hunter is a more stable platform but that is less important to a sniper that tries to stay out of sight and not get hit. IMO, the OD usage a sniper will get out of Dictator far outweigh the benefits Hunter's extra stability give to a sniper like Gauss.

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

I'm not understanding your "what-ifs" in #2... Keep in mind we were talking about Hunter & Dictator. My "minor difference in stats" comment was based on both being medium hulls. Was not trying to compare wasp OD & Mammoth OD.

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

    1) Both are long-range weapons that can do a lot of damage with one shot, require LOS, and are more efficient far away from target. Good enough for me. 2) ODs are so important to the game now that they should take priority over some minor differences in hull stats. I like Hunter - I bought it on this account even though I had Viking. But it loses so much efficiency when it can't apply the OD very often. On my alt account I have both Hunter and Dictator. Applying the Dictator OD to turrets like Gauss and Vulcan make a huge difference in performance.

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

    1) Just because you don't like the comparison does not mean it's irrelevant 2) ODs have been made an integral part of the game. To ignore or discount their importance to synergy means you wont be as effective 3) We'll have to agree to disagree
  11. Blue has to go up 3 ramps which can be blocked. Red can drop down from their level OR take the ramps. Red gets more tanks to mid-level much faster than Blue. It's only a matter of time once red controls the mid-level. They had turrets that always dealt damage even when they missed. Blue is disadvantaged this way big-time. Even before magnum, red was winning 7/10 battles when teams were closely matched in ranks and skill.

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

Gauss is no better than Rail at "locking on" to individual targets without them knowing. Rail only requires 1 second + the target to be LOS. Gauss requires LOS + 2 seconds. Gauss is better with Hornet or Dictator than Hunter - you will use the OD more often because you do not need to approach the targets. Many of the complaints about Gauss have to do with the kills it gets from Splash damage. I'd rather they tweak that than make it more difficult to hit individual targets by "warning them".
  13. Even before Magnum, Red had advantage of "higher ground". They could get to middle level much easier, and team that controls middle level usually wins the battle on that map. Plus Ricco, Thunder and striker all could rain havoc on those at bottom level. They can all do damage without hitting targets (well ricco shots bounce until they do hit). Blue does not have that luxury - their misses either hit bottom of floor above or sail off into the sky. Neither of those locations has a target. Noise has always been broken. Magnum just made it more obvious.

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

Let me answer it this way - you'd do EVEN BETTER using Dictator or Hornet. Or even Viking. You would use snipe way more with OD when combining with those other hulls. What you describe is a perfect storm - enemies clustered together, able to approach (multiple enemies) without getting killed, then having enough space to back up out of splash range after zapping and use snipe. Really, how often does this happen? The majority of the time, if Gauss wants to use the massive snipe and splash damage, it will NOT be getting a boost from an OD if using Hunter. It will be sitting on the ready OD "just in case", keeping it's distance and whomping targets someone else has stunned.

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

Any turret with a good combo OD can wreak havoc at any rank. Hornet? Plenty of Rails+alteration using hornet. Gauss and Hunter is not a great combo. Same with Vulcan and Hunter (which is one of the worst combos taking OD into consideration) You don't want to be close to enemy with Gauss. You do want to be close with Hunter. Many better ODs to combine with Gauss. Hornet and Dictator and Viking are all much better for Gauss than Hunter. But you don't have to equip Gauss to wreak havoc with those ODs.

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

I agree that the splash mechanics probably need some tweaks. Was just pointing out that Gauss has some substantial weaknesses that balance out things like the no-warning lock-on

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

Striker needs a bit of a buff - either on lock-on or on speed of missiles or both in some measure.

My thoughts on the game coming from Tanki X

Stop trying to complete Challenge & War and you will have plenty. Those two events are completely optional. Like I said - have never bought anything and I have tons of supplies. You wanna play 2-3 hour per day? Sure you may run out. But that's your choice. Having some sort of supply-usage restraint also helps. Instead of popping an RK every time a player is damaged, they need to decide if it's really needed. Take a death or 3 - k/d means absolutely nothing in this game.

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

Damage? A lock-on for striker means it does a lot more damage. IMO Striker needs a slight buff with lock-on and... maybe Gauss lock-on should be m-level dependent. 2 seconds for m-0 and m-1 is quite fast - hulls are a lot slower at that level.
  20. I play at Legend levels and Major General levels, and I don't see this "dominating" you speak of. There are not many of them, and I rarely equip Owl module - even though I have it on both accounts. The fact that Gauss is fairly new meant that many players had no protection. After this 50% sale likely will be more modules in circulation and thus the turret will be less effective. Plus, if the Splash mechanics are tweaked then it will score less than currently. Lets see how that goes before doing any major design changes.

My thoughts on the game coming from Tanki X

If you play TO for more than a few hours you will realize you get enough free supplies from completing missions to compete. I've never bought anything on 2 different accounts and have more supplies than I will ever use. TX modules - are random - making it much harder to decide on a path for your tank. Buyers on the other hand can buy loads of containers to get ahead, and thus TX is much more expensive if you want to rely on more than luck. Buyers could field a high-strength tank against beginners since there's no rank requirements for modules. TX had very few maps compared to TO. Also - if you don't play regularly the League keeps dropping you down to lowest Tier. There is no permanent progress. As for graphics - that's subjective. I fund the movement of TX tanks bouncy and horrible and the tanks looked over-sized and goofy - partially due to the horrible camera angle. TO was miles better on that aspect.
  22. With the Rail OP-alts the trail won't help - you are already dead most of the time. Gauss also leaves a trail. I'm not saying most turrets should leave a trail or have a laser - they should not. Getting blown-up is gonna happen. That's part of the game. But in Gauss case I think tweaking the Splash mechanics is what is needed to balance it.
  23. wolverine848

    Let's Discuss Gauss!

One of the keys to Gauss. Not nearly as threatening when it needs to move due to enemy proximity. The Splash mechanics could probably use a bit of a nerf. Doing 90% damage almost to outer regions of radius is a bit much.
  24. The problem you describe is not a warning issue. It's Splash damage and or splash radius issue. You can't "warn" everyone in the splash area of effect. Maybe the way splash damage is done needs to be tweaked - giving such a high % in the outer radius is maybe too much. It's not like I get a warning when a Magnum shell is gonna land on me. If you actually "looked up" when you hear (many don't actually have sound on) it's basically too late. I don't get a warning when Rail with alteration is gonna one-shot my light hull either - and it does not need to lock-on for 2 seconds.
