    How is ignoring protections useless? I put my Vulcan on a hornet to try it in a CP battle. Managed to get a lot of kills - especially when enemy grouped together.
  2. We're never gonna agree on which is better - that's fine. And I can understand if someone doesn't favor the rapid-fire version - different mechanics and tactics. But what I don't understand is - if you're not going to choose auto-cannon, why choose Supercumulative over Stock? You cut your critical chances in half, but only gain a bonus of 50% to the crit when it eventually happens. You mention DPS... well... the DPS of Super is definitely lower than Stock. Math doesn't lie. Even if the bonus damage was 100% - so over 20 shots the overall damage is a trade-off, I still wouldn't choose Super as you have to wait longer to realize the same end-results. It makes no sense.

  5. How? Supposedly auto-cannon is disabled when OD activated, so... it becomes a "normal smoky" with OD. Criticals are still present (1-in-5 at m4) when Viking OD activated?

    And yet Hunter's EMP does not remove Mammoth's OD... :blink:. Which is odd - since that's really it's only benefit. Wonder if it at least re-sets the mammoth cool-downs on supplies.

    If tanks are completely unable to affect you during that (10 seconds?) time then at the very least they need to be able to run away. It's not like the mammoth can't equip a turret that can "reach out and touch someone". The invulnerability + instant death + faster move is just a little too much.

  9. half the time your target will be dead or out of site before you get off 1 supercumulative critical. Criticals also do full damage at any range beyond max damage range. Or did you forget the other smokys all lose damage potential that way. Only situation where autocanon does not have advantage is within max damage range. Why are you mentioning firebird? You only need one type of module... FIRE module. To protect against smoky incendiary you need to different modules... fire + smoky. Enjoy your supercumulative alteration and I'll enjoy the auto-cannon. But your comment about auto-cannon sucking is just ignorant.
  10. Sigh, Firstly... 20% is NOT minor. To put it in perspective, that is greater than the difference between m3 & m4. Digest that. Secondly... Maybe you are really, really lucky and end up playing noobs - a LOT. I'm not so lucky, and the tanks I play against actually move when being targeted - usually out of sight behind something. In most cases that extra "50% more time to shoot" never comes into play because target is no longer there. So no - the 20% damage nerf far outweighs any of the benefits. The Alteration is garbage.

    Original version they said it would be invulnerable and slow. Final product is the opposite - invulnerable and faster. :huh: Kinda dumb. (though I'm sure the mammoth users like it...)

    That must include some one-shot hits right? Plus... unless they are "lined up" you gotta switch targets right? I'd think unless the stars are aligned (pun intended) - it would take you closer to the full 7 seconds to take out 5 tanks?

    Funny thing is - 2 magnums hiding in enemy base would put an end to that "non-stop firing" pretty quickly. Should not be that hard to land a couple direct hits on that hornet...
  14. Well unless you have charts handy, that explanation takes way too much time and is way more than is needed. To answer the question "Is it a 70% decrease in self-damage or in damage dealt for the Vulcan?" all you need to do is reply... "damage dealt for the Vulcan?" Since you use the words of the poster, the meaning should be 100% clear.

    Battles get boring fast. The OD is not "special" anymore - it is the norm. They charge way too fast. DMs are the absolute worst. Stays like this and I'll play even less, and just in Pro-Battles.

    It's not the act of just firing that affects the charge-rate. It's scoring. Firing AND killing. Capping a Flag or CP. IMO the ODs charge too fast. They are hardly even uncommon on the battle-field now. At every moment there seems to be some tanker with OD. It's no longer "special" - it's the norm. Way too much like Super-Mario-Kart. DMs are a joke (and the stupid system keeps giving me those for missions). These new ODs might be the final thing that drives me from Match-Maker for good.
  22. Haven't we had this conversation before? (maybe it was someone else) Supercumulative takes too long to get the critical out. Stock smoky outperforms supercumulative. And auto-cannon can't be as bad as you believe - it's my default option for smoky. You are discounting the multiple hits that all still do impact. And at long range, more criticals means more damage since there is no dmg loss due to range. In same time-span autocannon will do a lot more damage than stock or supercumulative when on larger maps. (lol you coverd this) - basically on smaller maps I switch to Titan-Ricco. You're supercumulative cant stand up to this at closer ranges. As for Incendiary - well all those types of alts are goofy - and should never have been introduced. Allowing two types of damage from one turret is basically unfair.

    Has gotten boring real fast. Battles are just a mess now. ODs refresh too quickly. That is ALL the battles are about now.

    Well... Viking is faster at m3 and above. But mostly because unlock rank. The higher the unlock rank the better the stats. Viking leapfrogs Hunter in power at m2.
