Is it multing to use XP in free format battles?

Depends on whether or not you are helping your teams objectives. If you die repeatedly without either capping or killing then yes, it could be considered multing. You really like an M0 combo? Play DM where you are not a "drag" to a team. Or play games with lower ranks where your combo is closer to the norm.

    Let's Discuss Product Kits

Problem is they are nerfing Isida big-time. Buying now you may regret it later IF it performs as expected. I already have it so that ship has sailed. If I did not already have it I really don't know if I would spend crystals on it later if/when "balancing" takes place.
  3. What hull were you getting one-shot killed by smoky? An M4 smoky with DD can do max 200 dmg (100x2) on a critical. So it can kill an (unprotected) M4 Wasp or M3 Hornet one shot. Rail, Shaft and Thunder can also do this. And since that is a less than 1-in-5 chance i don't see that as being OP at all.

That's possible. And from my understaning, alterations come with two costs - crystals and loss in some other attribute. Pay more crystals to get back something you had before and have a different stat nerfed. Would not surprise me.

Unfortunately I think many of the complaints about Isida arise from it's OP-ness on drugs. At least from what Mafiosa is communicating here. I agree - Isida is good sans drugs but hardly OP. I die as much as the next tanker when not on drugs. And I also agree you can probably get a half-decent score with Isida even with the self-heal Nerf. Unfortunately that comes with a significant restriction in playing style - which I am not happy about at all. As for D/L... until that actually has some real effect (reward/limitation/etc...) I couldn't care less. I rarely look at that.

    CLOSED — Cedric's "Virtual Office"

Hi Cedric, I asked this on a previous page and perhaps you missed it... Was wondering if Devs gave an explanation for why Hunter and Viking will basically be switched in many characteristics. How does that create balance? I own a viking. If I wanted a Hunter I would have bought a Hunter.

I hate ALL teams in DMs. If they wanna team, play TDM. I decline all offers (even as an Isida) in DM and exit when I find a team. Or drug and attack the "team" whenever possible.

I think BlackWasp is saying you won't find Isida (personally) OP if you play it for a while without drugs. Maybe you have - but your comment above suggests otherwise. Many turrets are OP with drugs. Not just isida. And yet Isida is getting a huge nerf to one of it's main characteristics.

We each have our opionions on style of playing. I like to have options. Heal. Capture. Kill. "Re-balance" will take away my options. I have no idea if you've used isida at higher ranks on other accounts. What I can tell you from my perspective is that, after getting medic on unlock rank, it does get boring if ALL you are doing each game is healing.

A smart isida who wants to earn crystals will do lots of healing. If the team wins, the isida will get more crystals. Guess you haven't had luck in teammates.

    Let's Discuss Viking!

(60's) batmobile-like fins? Or those big honkin' stainless-steel aftermarket bolt-on trunk tails we see on hondas and subarus?

You will keep the turret with original M-level and purchased micro-ugrades. But the stats will correspond to the new characteristics in the cough-rebalance-cough.

So 100% damage to the main target and 50% of that to each tank around it? And from a (safe) distance? Yikes! That would be way to OP. I'd switch from Smoky to Thunder in a heartbeat.

Episode 108 of the V-LOG is here

I'm curious as to why you like the switch between Hunter and Viking? I bought a Viking. I like it. With the switch I'll basically own a Hunter. If I wanted a Hunter I would have bought a Hunter.
  16. At M3 I'd say Thunder comes out ahead. The min damage increases by a greater margin than the max dmg is reduced. and it gets better re-load. Smoky on the other hand... slight increase in max dmg but worse re-load and... critical gets BIG nerf. Now does less than Thunder min dmg.

    Let's Discuss Isida!

Also going to be boring. With (proposed?) 10% self-heal good luck in combat. So it can now sit in it's own base attached to a Titan-Vulcan like a remora and heal. Wow...

So the numbers posted are not final? They might change after some testing is done?

Episode 108 of the V-LOG is here

Sure isida is unique in the way it attacks. It is a short range turret that can only damage one tank at a time, unlike freeze, hammer and firebird. It also runs out of fuel unlike twins. I'm not suggesting that some parameters should not be tweaked to strive for balance. I am suggesting that going from 50% self-heal to 10% self-heal is so drastic as to change the nature of the turret i paid crystals to use. Why 50%? 10% is basically nothing = no real usefulness. Might as well be ZERO. Why not try 25% - see if that has the desired effect?

Episode 108 of the V-LOG is here

The key word in all this is balance. How does reducing the self-healing from 50% to 10% create balance? It completely changes the nature of the turret. It will be so less effective in combat that few people will use it that way. And using it for just healing will become so boring the turret will gather dust in garages. Changing a parameter from 50% to 10% is not "balancing". It is destroying.

Episode 108 of the V-LOG is here

Isida is quite different from all the other tanks in it's attack though. It will take a beating while approaching the flag without doing any return damage. Unlike firebird and freeze it can only damage 1 tank per attack. It does not incapacitate other tanks like freeze. Correct me if I'm wrong but firebird DPS (or however u want to measure) is greater than isida. "not easily" is an understatement. I think isidas will barely be able to regain health with that low 10% recovery. They do 50 and heal back... 5? And yes - sitting at the flag healing teammates will become boring very fast. tankers who expect that of isidas better be dropping them every second flag. else they won't be seeing many isidas.

Episode 108 of the V-LOG is here

Let me re-phrase... Smoky will work on long range as well as medium range if 1-in-5 shots are better than it's new "maximum". Don't forget it also reloads a lot faster than all the other long-range weapons. I don't see smoky as a run-and-hide weapon. It works better if firing continuously, thus generating more criticals. I'm certainly not happy about the nerfs. The fact it may keep full critical at long distance is a slight mitigation of losing the more powerful critical. I also don't like losing impact force (and then paying to get that back as an alteration).

    CLOSED — Cedric's "Virtual Office"

Hi Cedric, Isida is only overpowered when on DD. At all other times it is challenging, but certainly not OP. But you can say the same for any weapon on DD. Thunder on DD is considered by many to be OP. And yet overall it is getting a buff. And the "new" firebird - on DD it will cause so much carnage - especially if alteration is added. Has there been any communication as to why they are changing the hulls? I don't recall seeing many (any?) complaints about imbalance in the hulls. More specifically, what is the explanation for basically switching the characteristics of Viking and Hunter. If players are happy with the one they currently have what is the point?

Episode 108 of the V-LOG is here

Shouldn't all turrets have a chance to play each game mode? How would one complete weekly missions that involve DM if the only M3 they (me) currently have is isida? I would be forced to "change" that mission each time, even if I have crappier missions. And no turret should have just one role. How boring would it be to play a tank that sits around and just heals other tanks - hanging on like a lamprey (but doing opposite). I play isida a lot. The bulk of my experience comes from healing teammates sure. However, the self-heal gives me the option to jump in and grab a flag when opportunity presents itself. having a piddly 10% self-heal will negate that, as isidas are usually the first target. They have a giant bulls-eye on them regardless of what paint they wear. Isidas will indeed become more rare on the battlefield - especially once isida-users have a choice of equal m-level turrets to use. A nerf down to 25% in self-heal would probably be a palatable compromise for most tankers.

Wait - what? Which parameter do you think should be nerfed even further?
