Re-balanced Thunder might be better than re-balanced smoky...
-
I think you have confused how the protection modules work. Current M0 Thunder does ~ 49 damage per shot. If you have 12 (%) protection it will do ~ 43 damage per shot you. Even at Min damage range the 26 damage reduces to ~ 23 damage.
-
Starting tomorrow you won't have to worry about that "damage increased" issue. They are nerfing the critical for smoky. Will barely do more than it's normal damage.
-
M4? I have one M3 set - Medic. RIP Isida. :(
-
With the proposed "re-balance" Titan M1 will lose some health (vs current M1) but will be more maneuverable and faster. So it won't seem as sluggish as M0. Kits are the best way to buy items - so if you want the Vulcan M1 I say go for it. To get a heavy hull + protection module + supplies is well worth the extra 2k crystals. And the early unlock is a benefit too. If you still like the Vulcan with M1, think about saving up for the M2 Vesuvious kit - viking + vulcan + griffon TC (and supplies).

Do you think that turrets/hulls will become balanced with this update?

I bought the Viking because I liked how Viking performed. Because of this decision I will effectively no longer have a Viking. I will have a Hunter. That's not what I paid for. Many revisions tweak items here and there. Tankers may not embrace that, but for most part the change is not drastic. But - imagine if you swapped the stats for Smoky and Thunder. Though the weapons are quite similar, they are different enough that tankers would be upset - and rightly so. Will we current Viking users be given choice to swap to new Hunter for free? -
I'm not sure I understand everything in that table... Thunder (std) M4 - "Max Splash Dmg." = 250.00. 250 what? Can't be 250 damage. That seems way too high. Shaft damage territory...
-
I'm not sure if Devs have confirmed if Smoky's critical remains constant over long distances. Also not sure if Thunder's Splash is added to damage on it's target. I always thought Splash was collateral damage to tanks near the target.
-
That's a pretty specific example of battle. Still don't think the trade-off is worth it for most situations. But since you can switch it out depending on circumstances, IF you have the crystals go for it.
-
That looks like a an M134 mini-gun... the one used in Terminator 2. A vulcan is a 20mm-30mm rotary cannon mounted on tanks, jets and ships. Much larger and heavier - could not be hand-held. But principle is still the same - a gatling-gun style weapon that fires many rounds per minute.
-
Wait what? I seemed to have missed out on those "millions of free cry". How do I get my millions of free crystals?
-
In the upper ranks it is waaaaaay harder to save up for M3 kits. The "buyers" already have the equipment you are saving for, plus more drugs, plus more MUs, plus more protection modules. So every battle you get less and less crystals as the "buyers" win the battle with their better equipment. And then you are lucky to have one M3 combo that tanki decides to "nerf" in a re-balance. Now you are stuck with an obsolete kit and need to save once more in order to compete. It is not nearly as simple as you make it sound.

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?

I do that for a mission sometimes - BUT - only if I'm an Isida. Opposite bugs me... I'm Isida at < half health and running for a repair kit. A team-mate takes it just before I do. -
Red fighting over the flag was really the worst part of it. Tankers were so selfish. That may have affected Red's ability to win the game. If they co-operated they stood a much better chance. Especially with a Thunder on each hill raining splash damage down on the concentrated defenders. Kill the defenders and those mines disappear.
-
Before "rebalance" I would have said Atlas kit no contest. But going forward it's much closer. Titan M2 will still better than Mammoth M2. However, Thunder M3 will definitely be better than Smoky M2. Assuming you are looking at Kits, you will also need to consider price, unlock rank and which protection module you prefer. Do we know what the unlock ranks of kits will be after rebalance? The M3/M2 combo might unlock later than the M2-only kit.

My bad. Except... Rail M3 does 109-165 dmg (avg = 137). Viking M3 has 255 health. Rail on DD = 274 avg dmg. So M3 can still one-shot an M3 Viking. I stand by my previous statement. B)

Smoky alteration of losing critical for gaining +27% on impact? For current smoky I think that is terrible. That's a lot of damage loss vs a small increase to possibility of knocking off enemy aim. There might be a few situations where that comes in handy (such a protecting an area where impact has good chance to disrupt enemies driving. But overall a bad trade-off. Might be slightly more useful IF they nerf the critical as proposed. In that case you are not losing as much damage - the critical will be so weak as to not matter much at all. Then perhaps it will be worth it. Until you get real rewards for having "high" or "good" K/D I wouldn't worry about it. It does nothing for you.
-
I would say the opposite actually. Because the damage is weak you need to take advantage of it's fast reload. That means a constant rain of fire upon the enemy whenever possible. You can't do that with "hide-and-seek" (I assume same thing as peek-a-boo?) Example vs rail. If smoky plays peek-a-boo vs rail it will lose. The rail does so much damage per shot that a smoky cannot afford to trade one-for-one shots, which is it what a rail will be happy to do. It will wait for the re-charge then appear again and shoot - doing > 2x the damage smoky is inflicting. Only way a smoky stands a chance is if it has a much heavier hull than the rail.
-
Yeah that page has problems. Shows M4 Thunder Splash damage as 600. 600 what?
-
So is weak damage a % of Max dmg or a % of Min dmg?
-
Most of it was good ;) But k/d as a measure of how good a tanker is? Not so much...
-
Don't forget Isidas can run out of juice. They are helpless during that time. Firebirds and freeze at least have lingering effects as they recharge. Not saying isidas don't need some tweaking. I've seen (also been) them wreaking havok on DD. Point is without drugs and at 10% self-healing they will be defensive only. That's unfair to those who like variety. A compromise would be as Blackwasp suggests (no boost to self-healing from DD) or... A smaller nerf down to 30% or 25% self healing. The proposed change is too drastic.
-
Except... many of the kits might be nerfed with "re-balance" (looking at u Medic). Look a future stats not current stats.
-
Don't you mean Hunter? Cuz Hunter will be the new Viking. Or do you think Hunter is better at moment?
