    Ideas for Missions!

This may seem off topic, but actually it fits right in. A friend of mine had her son in Martial Arts since he was 5 years old. When he was 6, the Dojo was divided up into small groups as teams and got a bit of a taste of competition. Winners were decided by team that had a good comprehension of the basic moves and countermoves, hit points and attacks. Scores of each player on the teams were added up to get a team score. The winning team got a nice, but modest trophy while the losing teams got nothing. It wasn't the team members that got upset with winning nothing, it was the parents. The Sensi explained to the kids that when a team loses, it's not because you weren't good enough, it's because you didn't try hard enough. The kids understood, but the parents didn't. There was such an uproar from the parents that the Sensi started giving everyone a trophy. When the kids were around 10 years old, they started competing against other Dojos. The winning team got a nice big elaborate trophy and each member of the team got a nice modest trophy. The losing teams got nothing. the kids of this particular Dojo, I'm speaking of, were so used to getting trophies they didn't earn, they got very upset and showed poor sportsmanship after the competition was over. I heard one mother calling the judges a few names that I know weren't on their birth certificate. Some of the kids were actually crying because they didn't get a trophy for losing. In the final scores of all the Dojos, which one do you think was at the bottom of the list? If you guessed the local Dojo, you would be right. Why? The Sensi was one of the best around. I took my friend's son to some of his classes. He tried, he tried hard, but the kids weren't listening. Why? Because they knew that in the local competitions they would get a reward...a trophy... for not trying. There is a bright side to this. When the Sensi started ignoring the parents and doing what was right, the kids started trying harder. Some had to relearn some of the basics. But they muddled through. Two years later, they came in second in the regional competition and went on to state competition. They came in third. In regional and state, the top 3 teams got trophies. The winners of state got a trophy as big as the kids were. The kids of the local Dojo were proud of their trophies, because they earned them. They weren't handed to them on a silver platter.
  2. Don't worry, they're here and reading every word. The forum is overloaded with these types of topics. If you really want to see Mod's responses, go into the archives, you'll see plenty. When the staff has their meetings, I'd sure like to be a fly on the wall (a Russian fly, that is).

    Tanki Online Formats.

Don't worry about it. It's a glitch in the forum and happens a lot. The Mod just deletes the extra posts and leaves one.
  4. The Devs are digging their own grave. We'll just have to sit back and see how deep they dig before even the ladder is too short to reach the top. We all know none of this stuff reaches the ears of the Devs. CM and Admins tell them only the things they want to hear, and this ain't one of them. We're typing our fingers to the bone, trying to tell a blind person what it's like to see the light of day. All they have to do is read it, right? Except they can't. I'm not singling out deaf and blind people. This is just a metaphor. .
  5. I'm sorry, I don't understand what the BBC Code mod has to do with the links and spoilers not working in my topic. Please explain.
  6. I think they need to shut down the game for a week, but leave the forum open. During that week, they devote their time to taking off all the bandages and sew up all the holes so they can heal properly, exterminate the bugs and pluck out the glitches. Tell us no less than a month ahead of time of the shut down and keep reminding us on the homepage and in lobby chat window, as well as on the forum. They tell us what they are going to do and do as they say. Don't keep us in the dark. I played a multiplayer game that had gotten so full of lags, bugs and glitches it was difficult to play. We were told about a month ahead of time their intentions, as stated above. Players didn't leave forever and ever. The forum was all abuzz with anticipation and discussions. When the game came back on line, it was running like a brand new engine. The players were full of accolades and praises for the Devs. Many of the old players who left because of the lags, bugs and glitches came back to stay, not for just a visit. The player base increase rapidly.
  7. I am fully aware of that. I've been making links to Tanki Wiki, offsite websites (ie: YouTube) and players' nicknames and making spoilers successfully on this browser, Chrome, the only one I use for Tanki (Firefox isn't working right on Tanki). Last night, I spent over 1 hour 30 minutes trying to update my topic http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=380010. Nothing was working right. I would put the spoilers and links in correctly, but when I hit the Save Changes button, the links were in the color of the text and the spoilers weren't working. Then the text started changing to the default color grey. I cleared my browser, cache and even all 813 cookies. (What a mess this is going to be). Didn't work. This morning, I worked on it for another hour, still same problem. A few minutes ago, I went back to my topic and the links were there, not in color of the text. The colored text that went from my chosen color to default color is back in my chosen color. I'm afraid to try to use the spoiler for fear everything will change again, but not the way I wanted it. I'll try a spoiler here: We shall see. I see the link worked, too.

    Lets pretend we're in jail

Okay. Let me see if I got this right. You accidentally put black powder in you tank, thinking it was an alternative gasoline. After two minutes, your tank self-destructed and the game crashed. You thought your tank's explosion was so big, it destroyed the map and the player in it. Is that correct?
  9. If an alcoholic says, "I've quit drinking. I just have a beer once in a while." Has he quit drinking? OR If someone said, "I quit smoking." Pulls out a cigarette then says, "Oh, I only have a cigarette...maybe once every few days." Has he quit smoking? Don't try to pull the wool over our eyes. You may not be playing as often as you used to, but you haven't quit by your own admission.
  10. Does problems with forum glitches go into "Bugs and Glitches"? I posted one glitch there but no one responded. Now it's gotten worse. I need to know if it's me or the forum.

    Let's pretend we're noobs

I didn't ask everyone to stop shooting at me, but I once said, "hey no fair 3 against one no fair." That was in my younger Tanki days. That was pretty noobish.

    Lets pretend we're in jail

Jail has reopened. See top of first page.
  13. I may sit this one out. I've participated in the last two wars but didn't have the time to put a decent effort into them. All of the missions sound like they are very time consuming.

    Problems with new in-game updates.

If you have done all the @KariWolves has suggested and none of them worked, as you indicated, try reporting your issues here: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=310088 and tell them what you have done to resolve the problem.
  15. They may not make sense to you, but they do to the owner of the nickname. At the top of the page, left hand side, click on "Members" and browse through the list. You'll find some very interesting names. Some players, when they make up an account, don't put a whole lot of thought to a nickname, while others try to think of something that stands out or is unusual. To me, your nickname doesn't make sense, but it does to you and that's all that matters.
  16. There wasn't enough time to get any kills. Seems that he and I were the only ones moving. I know our team wasn't moving much. It was like the Twilight Zone. He capped, I respawned and everyone had started to move around. I know I wasn't lagging because I did damage to him as he came in. Before my team could get organized, the other team came in, took over the base and capped two more flags.

    Complaint Book

Both has happened to me with DM. I got a DM mission, changed it and got another DM mission. I completed it and the next time, I got another DM mission. I've had 3 DM missions together.
  18. Is it possible for Hammer to get OD activated in less than one minute after battle has started? It just happened in Brest. I was the only one in the area who was ready for battle. There was one ghosting and the other 3 weren't moving. Hammer came in with SB activated, activated OD, killed me and left with our flag.
  19. Some Russians use Latin keyboards instead of the Cyrillic and use Latin letters/numbers to imitate Russian characters. Many times it takes two Latin letters or a combination of a letter and number to produce one Russian character.
  20. That has happened to me, too and I wasn't using Shaft. Time goes by quickly when you're not watching the clock. You have to move your tank a bit once in a while. Besides, it doesn't hurt to come out of sniper mode once in a while to orientate yourself to what's going on around you. On another account, I use Firebird/Hornet-Wasp occasionally. I've killed many Shaft users while they were staring down the scope, waiting for something to happen.
  21. I've tried 4 times to copy and paste link for missions from Wiki to the forum. The link shows up in the default color and if you put the mouse over it, it highlights but it won't click. It's like the link is broken somehow.

Will you have kids when you grow up?

I'm too old for children, but here's my 2 cents worth, anyway. People are getting married later in life. They are concentrating on careers to get more established and to get a good start on life and savings. Times, traditions, morals have all changed. Couples are starting families in their 30's rather than in their late teens and early 20's. Unmarried couples are losing the stigma once attached to them. There are advantages and disadvantages to married and unmarried. Do the research for legal entitlements of unmarried couples before making that decision. Kit's

As in all other multiplayer games, there are features in the store that help you get ahead a little quicker or are available only in the store. Bottom line: As a Non-buyer, you can get there, it just takes a little longer and you have to budget your crystals. Good practice for real life situations. This a Buyer's account, but I have a few other accounts that are Non-Buyer accounts. I use both so I'm on both sides of the fence. Suggestions: ~Don't impulse buy. ~Look at your rank and then the rank at which the next Modification becomes available. That's how much time you have to MU your present combo ~Concentrate on your main combo for MUs. Personally, I like to MU my hull before my turret. I may not be able to take down the enemy in 2-3 shots, but at least my hull will last a bit longer for shots 4 and 5. Others disagree with this logic. Use your own judgement. ~Don't start MUing a secondary until you have your main over halfway MUed. Remember, each MU costs a bit more than the one before. ~Take advantage of the sales. They may be far and few between, but that gives you more time to save up. Read this: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=360526&attempt=1 ~Don't get impatient. You'll get there. There's many, many Non-Buyers in this game who are struggling the same as you. Many have made it to Legend and not all have M3-M4 garages. ~If you're not doing the missions, it's past time to start. You'll get supplies, crystals, batteries out of the containers. Read this from the Wiki: https://en.tankiwiki.com/Containers and this: https://en.tankiwiki.com/Missions ~If you find yourself on the losing team of a blowout battle, staying or leaving is up to you. Just keep in mind, you won't get any score if it's a less than 2 minute battle. No score...no crystals. But if you have a mission to complete (x number) battles in (battle mode). Stay the 2 minutes, it counts. Those who stay in a blowout battle stay for the xp or have a vested interest. ~Don't be concerned if your constantly in the lower half of the leaderboard. I usually am because of my combo and because of my choice of position (team support). Hope this helps. You don't need to buy from the store to advance. Kits are nice, yes no doubt. If the better ones were sold in the garage, that would cheapen the value. Good luck in you Tanki career.

    Ideas for Missions!

It was a parody in response to Juggernaut is the enemy of all countries. The ones trying to destroy Juggernaut are the ones trying to save all humanity. The other countries who join the battle to destroy the ones trying to save humanity are the players who join the battle mode, not to destroy Juggernaut, but to destroy the ones trying to destroy Juggernaut. In the end, Juggernaut has no allies and destroys the ones who, either intentionally or unintentionally, tried to protect Juggernaut by destroying its enemies. Sorry, just trying to have some fun.

    Multiple teams

I've seen people complain this might lead to more lag. We already have 10x10 battles, 20 players on a map. You can have 4 teams of 5 players. I don't think that would add to the lag, it's still the same amount of players. Yes, teams will probably team up against other teams. But in the end, only one team wins. Don't forget, the team you are teaming up with, you can also destroy. Say, Teams A and B decide to team up together. Team A grabs a flag in CTF and is escorted by Team B. Halfway to the Team A base, Team B kills the flag bearer grabs the flag and caps at Team B base. This type of (legal) sabotage would be effective if the bases were close together.
