Hi DS. I think you're dealing with the wrong issue. We aren't talking about who's got a right to say what. We're dealing with the judges' decision - after all this is a contest. It's all well and good saying that Lank was criticising when he hadn't entered, but he has a right to do so. From an audience's perspective, basic things stand out. Firstly, it was clearly promised to the Top 3 Winners that they would have a chance to join the Tanki Online Cybersport Team. And thus, linked in to that, when seeing the winners of the competition were clearly deficient in certain arenas, he has a completely valid right to note their mistakes. These people are apparently going to become our commentators on the StarSeries games! Do we really want someone who can't even tell when a battle starts, let alone note tactical differences between Viking and Hornet, to be giving us a run-down of commentary on the big stage? Surely that would be slightly demeaning to viewers knowledgeable in Starladder, having to listen to someone who frankly knows a lot less than themselves. Surely you would be wanting as a commentary team to have people who have shown that they can at least note basic tactics...?
You mentioned the tactical moment where gangstachel did a fantastic double shot and backed up UDJIK well. Well, I don't know about other videos, but in Fen's and mine, I certainly mentioned gangsta's double-shot. So, if that was what you were looking for, as you clearly expressed, why then....? If you'll pardon me, it seems like a confused decision. I say this purely from my own perspective but I believe you missed out on the purpose of the contest in your result, particularly for third place. Was this not to find new commentators for the team? I somehow recall that that was the main intention of the contest.
I'm just trying to work a few things through in my mind here. If you thought the top 3 were best, why then are you suddenly saying that the top 3 are not guaranteed a position in the CS Team which they were quite clearly offered? Surely the best three commentators for the video should become the best three commentators on the Channel? Or aren't you sure anymore?
Don't get me wrong. I'm not "machine-gunning out criticisms". All of the top three entries were well and good, and deserved recognition. They all flowed well, and all had good commentators' voices. But I feel you missed the mark on what you needed. What the CS Team needed.
