Umm... how is that going to help anything? Too much coding will be involved for a temporary object. Need to think of something else. Yeah, this is the reason. Would it will be better if Premium will give 100% exp boost rather than 50%?

I know it, but it is not solvable that easy. Can't really uncover all reasons, you will have to belive me on this one.

That rebalance thing is why I am got into developers chair in the first place. I was a player back than, supporter, but the whole thing gone horribly wrong. It took few years of my work to even thing out. Issues still not solved compleatly, but at least I can make sure new game won't have to face same changes. And the old game will not collapse.

I know that as well. Making OP paint avaliable for everybody by small check every month is bad idea as it makes all other paints usless. Nobody will buy them if there is an OP premium paint, I know that.

So yeah, the reasons. 1) Money, obviously. This is not a big secret that another game-about-tanki-which-will-not-name-to-make-sure-nobody-will-be-upset-about-it making most of its profit by premium pass so it was only a question of time for TO. 2) Make a valuable low-to-mid-range purchase in game on monthly basis so it will give more stable profit. 3) To find a way around our single currency economy to make extra offers for paying user while not ruin the benefits of single currency system. The reason premium account was never introduced to TO is... well... it might take me really deep into who made that decision, but I can't really. Thing is, some things have changed inside the office. Saying that, I must point out that our goals with this game are not changed, only the way we do things. This meens this game is going to stay free2play and not going into pay2win department. But 20% paint, why? This is how we shoot our own foot right there :D Thing is, this IS going against certain rules we have. We still go by the rule of no extra power should be locked behind pay wall. This 20% is a problem for me as for anybody here as well. I am not going to keep whole another balance for paying users, this is just rediculus, but if everybody will use this premium paint it will happen and will clearly meens pay2win. But we do need an extra something to give with premium pass to make it stand out. This is why we aimed for a paint. Paints are the only thing we got in this game to customize your tank :( So didn't have much choice there. 20% protection was added to make this paint usefull, otherwise we fear it won't be anything special. Ok, I've already told you that I am considering 20% paint as a convenient but not game braking, but nobody seems to agree with me. I don't want to sound like a broken record here, so I will take my arguments back. You do consider it OP, I get it. I agreed for 20% only to make it valuable and as long as we are discussing plans to split protections and paints in the future. As I've said, if they will be separated, there won't be any reason to keep this protection in game, while the paint will be able to stay. When this will happen? Well, as I've said there were some changes in the office and you can see how fast we are on updates recently. No dates though. As you can see there is no reason called 'to-make-buyers-op'. I've always considered supplies are far enough in this department. Making +5% for paying user will not change power ingame noticeably, but will have severe consequences for community. This is not where we are going with the paint. I will discuss protection for the paint again with my GD department and we will have a closer look on the matter. Maybe it will be lower, maybe it will be removed, maybe it will stay as it is. Anyway, balance rules are still apply. If this paint will turn out to be gamebraking, it will be cutted. As I've already told here few pages before Ideal scenario will be to keep premium paint, but devide protections and paints into two separate entities. We will get there eventually, I hope. There are so many cool paints we can make for this game, but so few we can see in battles while protection is influencing which paint to pick. We always looked for Team Fortress kind of model with lots of options for customization. Problem is, we won't be able to keep afloat if this game will only offer paints. Flash is old, not shiny, not a widespread. We just won't be able to reach for our audience so there won't be enough money to keep the game around and making new one. And if we descard either old game or new game to concentrate our strengh we will go down hill for real at very same moment. This is why we have to go into twilight territory with our decisions. We have no choice but to live by our current auditory, otherwise the whole project will die. This whole situation is just a big missunderstanding. I can see why it happend. There are not that much people to respond from the office to the community. Seriously, there like only two people who can talk to you here. Obviously we are not enough. I don't even suppose to comment on the matter. I am game designer, I got other things to do. Can't change much there so I ask you for the patience. Please?

First we need to make sure that +50% boost is working fine. Afterwards we can think of making it a better proposal.

You missing the point. Paint is just a little extra for +50% exp and crystals boost.

This is how it will be in Unity from the beggining. Question is, will it be possible in current tanki? I wonder..

Well if it will be possible to use any paint with any protection there will be no point to keep this premium 20% protection around, so yeah. But I can't say how it will end up eventually.

As I said, we were looking for something unique for premium users. Paint is a good way to go, but paint without protection is not going to be used. So we choosed a better fitting protection, which can be used without MUs (as long as paint given only temporarily). Problem is paint consists of paint itself and protection. We are aiming at dividing paint and protection into two separate entities, therefore we can be fine with adding 20% all-rounder protection for a while. Because as soon as paint will be separated from protection, there will be no point to give premium paint any protection at all, so it will be discarded. And yeah... it might happen we will sell paint with protection from everything with crystalls. Not that big of a deal.

As always you don't read my comments, so I will wright it again specifically for you, who feel himself victorious over the evil developer. I don't think 20% is not an advantage. I KNOW it is not an advantage. I tried it many times, it is not that good. It feels like "OMG 240% total protection so OP!" but it doesn't. Single railgun DD shot and this paint falls flat. Only reason to use this kind of paint is not to bother with choosing paint. Or being fancy, lol. But we both know you don't care for what I say. So make another comment crushing me all around, I am fine with that.

No offence Buggati, but the trick is you got the same car under the hood despite of looks. It comes from crystal-to-experience ratio, which is going to be the same for premium user.

This is upsetting me as well, but it is better to be safe than sorry. We might change it when we see that premium is doing fine in the game.

This game is alive for 6 years and we can fund development of a new shiny game with better stuff. Not that many companies out there, especially in RU region, that can do it. I believe this is a good enough anwer.
